The Brief Feeling of Happiness
I believe I have found one of my favorite summer fragrances. A solid 10. That's how I felt about the opening. Incredibly beautiful natural ginger note kissed by pepper. Embraced by happiness, I lay on the couch to enjoy this scent.

But wait, what’s happening all of a sudden? The further I get into the drydown, the more disappointed and grim my mood becomes. The notes that were just indescribable become increasingly dull and pale, until in the end they are barely recognizable. Instead, the myrrh and wood seem to take over, and suddenly I find myself from bright sunshine to summer rain.

If this opening could be sustained throughout, it would be one of my top go-to summer fragrances. In this case, honestly, it’s just not enough for me.

Conclusion: I've never had my joy and frustration so closely intertwined.

For me, the best scent in the French Collection by far
I ordered the tester set of the French Collection and sprayed all the fragrances individually on test strips. Both in the top note and after the drydown a day later, this scent appealed to me the most. It feels extremely fresh to me due to the ginger, which I believe makes it suitable for wearing in spring or summer. The pepper note is also extremely present, very pleasant, almost slightly fruity. The incense adds a cool-sweet-smoky note to it, simply unique. For a long time, I hesitated to buy a bottle, but now it stands on my shelf... ;) The scent has completely captivated me.

Today (02.06.2024) newly discovered: 50/50 layering with Prada L'Homme! I don't even know how I came up with it, but it harmonizes ENORMOUSLY. It makes Saint Tropez a bit more relaxed, airy, and creates a unique office/daily scent!

Absolute Summer Favorite
The Saint Tropez is my absolute favorite for summer and actually for the entire year. The scent matches my taste 100%. The only downside is the longevity and sillage; it could be a bit stronger overall.
The fragrance starts off fresh-sweet with a clear ginger note. Although the official ingredients don’t indicate it, I also perceive it as fruity. It develops into a woody-spicy scent, with the incense and pepper being very pleasantly integrated and rounding off the fragrance.
In my opinion, this is the best scent from the French Collection, which I highly recommend as a sample set, especially since you get the €70 credited towards a full bottle (including the 50ml).
The packaging and bottles are also very beautiful and high-quality.

Spicy-sweet scent for the whole year
Saint Tropez by Birkholz manages to create a peppery, spicy scent with a certain sweetness, woody elements, and incorporated incense that is well wearable all year round.

The fragrance starts off directly spicy-sweet, quite warm and pleasantly infused with incense.
The pepper note is present, but not too strong and, above all, agreeable. You can immediately sense a generally spicy-warm flair.

From the description, this sounds like a scent for the colder days of the year.
However, that's not entirely the case, as it also has a hidden freshness that allows the scent to work wonderfully all year round. Whether it's cold or warm, Saint Tropez works.

Over time, the lavender comes through beautifully.
It is a very pleasant lavender note that doesn't overwhelm me.

Towards the end, it becomes noticeably woodier and the incense seems to change once again.
It now has a slightly balsamic quality.
That could also be the listed myrrh.

All in all, a successful fragrance.
I admit it doesn't completely blow me away, but I like it.

On a Day in...
... Saint Tropez, I take a walk in the late afternoon and look out at the sea where I see various luxury yachts anchored. On the beach, there are wet pieces of wood that are partly resinous. A fresh breeze comes from the sea. I sit down at a small beach bar, order a glass of champagne, and let the sun shine on my face.

When applying this fragrance, the first thing that hits the nose is a sharp freshness with a smoky note. Slowly, a slightly floral scent follows that has a certain spiciness, making it gently masculine. The perfume is rounded off with woods and resins, which makes it very interesting.

The longevity and sillage are good.

Here, Philip Birkholz has created a wonderful unisex fragrance that is already quite mature and which I see being worn by both ladies and gentlemen from around the age of 23. Personally, I see it as an all-rounder that can be worn throughout the year. During the day, it feels comfortable in a suit or formal attire as well as in casual leisurewear or even beachwear. In the evening, it prefers to be worn with elegant clothing, but it doesn’t mind if it’s just jeans and a white shirt.

Those who enjoy a sharp, spicy, smoky, fresh, woody, floral, resinous scent with a very slight masculine twist will feel right at home here.

Good lord. This made me nauseous. I tried to wait it out to see if it got better but had to scrub it off after 15min else risk a real puke.

Very peppery-smoky at first with a hint of ginger. The myrrh wood base is also appealing, but why is everything so sweet here?!

Spiced ginger punch in a glass bowl. Unfortunately, the sandalwood here is of the rather unpleasant kind.

Great ginger note with cool incense - it doesn't feel too heavy, almost airy with aromatic angelica seeds. To me, it smells rich.

Gummy bears on a pilgrimage.
Pink pepper rings in the collection bag. Turibulum. Incense smolders. Ginger as the altar boy.
Short mass. Good.

First gummy bears, then sensually spicy, powdery, and all of it alternating. Very interesting and varied.

Peppery incense plays with zesty ginger and is underscored by a light woodiness, very versatile!

A spicy-warm scent with a hint of sweetness & great incense. Doesn’t sound like summer? True, but it works great all year round.
