Leather Blackberry
The first one from the France series that I wore today. I am an absolute beginner at describing scents, but I will try to explain what comes to my mind when I smell "Grasse." The image I have in my head when I smell this fragrance is a completely natural blackberry combined with nature and a beautiful leather note. So I have found great pleasure in this scent.

The Frenchman in Leather Gear
I had the French Collection as a sample set and experienced some interesting new sensations. A surprise was the "Grasse - Fleur de Provence | Birkholz," which I expected little from but received a lot.

In the opening, it is very strong, somewhere between Godolphin and "Tuscan Leather (Eau de Parfum) | Tom Ford." There’s a sweetness from the blackberry, combined with a spicy leather note, as one would expect from the two mentioned. Since I am a big fan of leather fragrances, I was already hooked. However, knowing that Birkholz always puts its own stamp on things, I expected more, and I was not disappointed.

As I progressed into the drydown, strong green notes began to emerge, almost taking over the fragrance. Oh wow, how does that fit together, you might wonder? It fits really well! It’s a bitter herbal leather note that is truly very pleasantly cozy and takes away a bit of heaviness.

The longevity is above average, as one knows from the DNA, lasting a good 8 hours with good projection.

Conclusion: If you want to experience leather in a different way, you can be surprised by the "Grasse - Fleur de Provence | Birkholz."

In the Early Morning in …
… a bar in Grass. It is a beautiful spring day. The morning dew glistens on the grasses, leaves, and flowers. A dark-haired man in his thirties with a full beard enters the bar. With him comes a sweet, sparkling, slightly spicy scent. He looks grim and dark around the room. He spots his colleague, and his face brightens up, surrounded by a certain freshness. He takes off his well-worn leather jacket, which exudes its own aroma. At the bar, he orders a café au lait with a croissant and blackberry jam. The two enjoy breakfast before heading to work.

When applying this fragrance, the first thing that hits you is a sharp, spicy, resinous licorice with the sweetness of blackberry jam. Floral accents and spices mix in. The leather makes the scent masculine and is heightened by a deep, dark note of patchouli. With the musk, the perfume becomes dry. The resinous quality is further intensified, and the vetiver adds a freshness. It definitely has something fresh, dark, and dirty with a slight sparkle.

The longevity and sillage are very good.

This great fragrance launched as unisex by Birkholz leans more towards its masculine character for men than for women. This should not mean that women cannot wear this scent. I see the entry age as around 25 years and open-ended upwards. For me, this perfume is an all-rounder that can be worn throughout the year. During the day, it works well with a suit, in jeans with a polo shirt, or even in a leather outfit. In the evening, it prefers to be worn in a tuxedo or evening suit, but it’s not offended if it goes casual to the pub.

Anyone who enjoys a sharp, spicy, resinous, slightly sweet, fruity, floral, deep, dark, dry, and slightly fresh scent should definitely check this one out. Above all, it is very long-lasting and present. This makes the price attractive again.

A Leather Fragrance with a Green Characteristic
Grasse is a really great leathery fragrance from the house of Birkholz.
However, it is not a typical, classic leather scent as one might imagine. Here, there is a certain green thread that runs through the composition alongside the leather note. Fruity accents are also present.

Grasse is occasionally compared to fragrances like Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather.
I can only understand this "TO SOME EXTENT."
Otherwise, these fragrances differ quite significantly!
Grasse is a completely independent scent that follows its own path, as mentioned in the first paragraph.

The fragrance opens for me with a combination of blackberry and a hint of licorice. The leather note is also already recognizable to me. At the same time, there is a certain "green" characteristic that can be felt immediately.

Over time, a patchouli note emerges, which has also hinted at itself quite early on. A greenish, slightly, but really slightly earthy patchouli note.
Additionally, there is a touch of rose, and the leathery nuances become increasingly intense. The generally green characteristic runs through to the end.
In the base, a bit of vetiver comes to the fore.

Grasse also has an appealing performance on me.
The fragrance lasts about eight hours on my skin, and the sillage is also quite decent.

In conclusion:
Really a great fragrance, and anyone who enjoys leathery scents and wants to try something with green facets must definitely test Grasse by Birkholz!

A Meadow in the Morning Dew with Currant Bushes
Grasse by Birkholz is an exciting and successful composition. Initially fresh and green, as if one were walking through a meadow in the morning dew in spring. Dark fruit notes come into play, for me black currant. The whole thing is supported by a soft leather.

As it develops, the soft and balsamic notes together with the leather take over more and more. However, the green base characteristic remains consistently present, which I find great.

On me, it radiates for about 2 hours, close to the skin easily 8 hours and more. I can't complain about that.

Overall, a wonderfully crafted fragrance, leathery-green, but everything is harmoniously integrated and not too sweet.

Birkholz? Really?
Provence with a leather jacket.
Blackberries, violets, thyme.
Pleasantly green, not generic.
Philip really got me.

Not for everyone. Please test :)

Familiar DNA, well-modified with a delicious, jammy blackberry. Leather is nicely integrated and not too harsh or dry.

Starts very herbal, resinous, green, and fresh. Becomes fruitier over time, and leather joins in. Let's see what happens.

I'll keep it short: Tuscan Leather with blackberry in a slightly floral way. A well-made scent, but I definitely imagine Grasse differently.

So this is what Tuscan Leather smells like from the herb garden. I really like it. I didn't think the combo would work so well.

Very dark amber, subtle thyme and violet for me to sniff out, similar to Accord oud by Byredo.

green/leathery. Somehow yes, somehow no. Not 100% rounded. Doesn't grab me.

Sweet, resinous licorice spreads with floral and fruity notes. There's also a hint of spicy, dark, dry leather that adds a masculine touch.
