The Dry, Big Brother of…?
Here I am again, pondering the meaning of this fragrance phenomenon.
Has the well-known industry salami struck again, which continuously increases the manufacturers' profits slice by slice from a product portfolio while emptying the buyers' pockets to their detriment?
After the test of Derby, which already dealt me a blow, I was extremely curious about the new promising creation from the house.
Definitely, this appearance is not necessarily my highlight, with the softly smoky opening that slowly glides into the rose and the musky caramel undertone.
When I’m out and about, whether at work or in my free time, people usually stop and sniff what you’re wearing when it comes from Roberto’s house…. Sometimes you even get approached, but this time it was a yawning emptiness, although I certainly am not out hunting for compliments.
I perceive this scent as a dry adult evolution of Maison Margiela - By the Fireplace. I can’t for the life of me figure out why, maybe the smoke paired with the vanilla?
I don’t think this one will receive waves of enthusiasm from the fanbase, as the performance leaves much to be desired. Is this the Extrait? Yes…..
If 17 Rosso is too loud for you, you might want to try this one, although the scents have little in common.
And once again, proof that sometimes less in the perfume cabinet can indeed be more ;)

In the Orange Laundry…..
Well, what can I say, this is one of the few fragrances I was looking forward to this year. At the same time, of course, there was a kind of tension about whether it would be a hit or a flop.
To my surprise, after my Air Tiger disappointment, I cautiously tuned in before shopping at M.G. again, and it was indeed a pleasant experience :)
The spray head distributes the thick liquid generously and precisely; well… with such a high concentration of fragrance oil, that can be mentioned…
A floral mist opens up like stepping into a well-stocked flower shop, slightly sweet and stuffy. A few minutes later, a soapy note joins in, which for me, as someone who is not fond of soapy scents, is not overpowering.
As time goes on, the sweet and fruity notes emerge. But it’s not a Neroli bomb; rather, it’s subtle.
A quarter to half an hour later, a gentle underlying woodiness with creamy influences comes through, and indeed… it smells a bit like fabric softener. Probably due to the combination of jasmine, rose, and lily of the valley…
But this actually makes the fragrance composition quite likable. It is supported by a hint of bitterness, which reminds me of Air Tiger, but appears much more wearable.
As I bring my nose closer to the sprayed area, which doesn’t shine with an excessively high oil content… seriously, no joke, how do they do that???... the fabric softener vibe kicks in and reveals a lovely orange.
Even after four hours, I can say it hasn’t lost intensity. This is great for someone who likes to stand out, and above all, this is a winner in terms of price/performance. It’s not the price per ml at €2 that matters, but the quality delivered that makes the fragrance wearable for many years. This is simply attractive in terms of pricing and worth mentioning for me, someone who doesn’t write reviews often. ;)
Thus, I must conclude that this summer fragrance is indeed worth more than just creating another hype, in my opinion.
Spray and enjoy!

Big Apple....unfortunately awesome!
Well, look at that, I get to experience this.
I don’t need to be on a beautiful wardrobe on a passenger ship with festively decorated tables and classic, room-filling chandeliers, sailing across the sea with well-to-do nobles and enjoying life in luxury to finally pass by the beautiful, sky-reaching figure and experience the big apple.
Zara makes it possible.
The small, minimalist, light green, yet stylish packaging easily outshines Jeremy's fragrance cardboard boxes.
It unfolds to reveal the solid approximately 40ml bottle, and on the flap, there’s a little story about leisure, fun, summer clothing, nature, and a nice memory.
Really nice :)
The scent itself is much more than you could expect for this ridiculous price.
It’s summer, you bite into a sweet, big apple. It sizzles and immediately releases a super realistic apple scent with a slight acidity, warm depth, and an apple compote aroma that is unmatched.
It never smells artificial or like toilet cleaner. Just a beautiful, rounded fragrance.
I immediately sat down to write this review without even testing the longevity because it’s so well done and fun to smell at every moment. ;)
It reminds me of the drydown of "Daddy | Aaron Terence Hughes" with a hint of a sweeter note, yet very unisex.
What can I say xD
One that I finally personally like. Since I’m such a fragrance pedant :)
UPDATE.:
On the skin, it has a longevity of 2.5 hours. I layered it on the left with "Zara Emotions N°01 - Vetiver Pamplemousse | Zara" and on the right with
Eau des Missions.
The interplay with Vetiver Pamplemousse is noticeably more pleasant and lasts its 5 hours on the skin.

Harder Daddy!
...I shouted to my father as we drove into the fields with the tractor on a sunny Saturday morning to see if the apple trees were ripe for harvest.
He climbed down from the old rusty-red tractor with the frayed leather seat and walked around the trees.... With a scrutinizing gaze, he examined the splendor of the tree and got back on his vehicle to shake the fruits down a bit.
Nothing happened, not a single apple on the beautiful majestic old tree moved from its place.
Harder Daddy! I called out to him... Again!
The leaves rustled in the gentle summer breeze and a raven flew over our heads, but not a single apple seemed capable of falling to the ground.
Too bad, we’ll have to wait a bit longer, said Father. They’re probably not quite ripe yet...
And so it is with this fragrance as well. Simply not ripe.
The expectation after some failed contenders had risen again in vain after I heard there was apple in it, would be shattered once more.
A lukewarm spicy fresh breeze, shrouded in a sweet nuance, that neither possesses the prophesied beast mode nor the capability to challenge me would be hyped.
The sprays went on the skin, the paper tester, on the T-shirt.
Sorry, but even after two hours, this is no celebration.
To all those who are cursing me now... xD
No, I’m serious. I hope the remaining fragrances have more potential.
In this sense...

Apple, who?
I'm always pleased when a house tries to create an apple scent again, then I know I will be disappointed once more.
Or is my realistic idea of a perfect apple scent simply absurd?
After searching in the lower segment, I turned towards niche fragrances and tried my luck by getting a sample of Layton.
This one was too vanilla-heavy for me, and Amabile wandered into the new releases...
Great, there was still something to look forward to... far from it.
From the artificial mishmash and the apple toilet cleaner that presents itself in the first quarter-hour, spices and a hint of pepper awaken in the background.
Unfortunately, I can't define the exotic woods and Mediterranean fruits, maybe overripe pear, a hint of warm quince with caramelized honey... ah, there were flowers in it. But which ones?
Apple? hmmm... I could convince myself to downplay the disappointment.
I think it smells like licorice in the drydown. :)
The longevity is also in the lower category, for Xerjoff standards this is the weakest one I've smelled so far. Yes, citrusy fresh scents have a hard time, I know, but is that it?
I find nothing about this fragrance that would make it worth calling mine, and the search begins anew.
