Snow White Incense
This scent transports me to an ancient world.
A mountain landscape where a small old ornate chapel stands. The snow crunches underfoot and the air is biting cold. Inside the chapel, it is not much warmer. It is merely a museum of days gone by. White marble, golden frescoes, and faded icons. In the clear air, small clouds of incense swirl around the altar adorned with white flowers. The dust sparkles in the sunbeams that fall through the stained glass. I take a deep breath again.
Back to reality.
L'orpheline is probably the clearest incense perfume I have ever smelled. Yet it is not smoky to me at all. Rather, it is the scent of melting resin, bubbling slightly. Hot and yet cool. Do you know what I mean?
The musk gives it a soft depth overall.
I think I can sense white flowers that make the scent subtly soapy.
No sweetness and no stickiness.
Perhaps a hint of something animalistic close to the skin.
L'orpheline is a rather intimate scent. More for myself than for anyone else. Nevertheless, it lasts forever on clothing. I was amazed when my sweater still smelled of it after washing.
Here, I gladly let myself be transported back to days gone by.

A Body Spray for "Dreaming"
I have always associated lavender with mothballs and incense for many years. Old and mostly musty.
But I have always loved tonka.
I discovered the
Twilight Body Spray in a sharing and just wanted to give it a try.
Thank you dear universe for this coincidence.
Here you get deep purple spike lavender in full bloom. More and more, a sweet tonka bean sneaks in, resulting in a scent I can't live without anymore.
Dense, sweet, herbal, and somehow "sippable".
I can't smell ylang. It probably just perfectly unites everything together.
Sillage and longevity are really decent for a body spray. On clothes until the next day.
Now I wander on lavender paths and explore the purple world.

How Perception Changes
Mystic Sugar was one of my first niche fragrances. I was blown away.Sweet pineapple, brown sugar, slightly burnt caramel. Somewhat spicy, somewhat soft. I never noticed jasmine here.
Now I had the scent on my wish list for 1.5 years, but I hadn’t smelled it for a while. So I needed another 5ml decant. Said and done.
I applied
Mystic Sugar about an hour ago.Yes, I still smelled pineapple at the beginning, especially in the air. Also the sweetness and the spice. However, on the skin, there is an unpleasant pee note. Huh? That wasn’t there the first time.
Now in the dry down, the pineapple has completely disappeared, replaced by a sweet eraser note. Or is it play dough?
Has my scent perception changed so much? That suddenly I don’t like certain fragrances anymore?
On the other hand, yes, scents that overwhelmed me at first, I can now categorize better and appreciate their complexity and development.
But here with "Mystic Sugar | Coreterno," it’s exactly the opposite. The dry down suddenly bores and annoys.
Now my wish list is one fragrance shorter. That’s not a bad thing.
Especially since you can get this DNA much better and much cheaper in "Star | Mauboussin." Great pineapple, great tonka bean, and a wonderful spicy smokiness. There, the dry down is so much more exciting and interesting ...

I had almost given up...
... finding a fruity scent for myself. The usual candidates like "Kirkè (Extrait de Parfum) | Tiziana Terenzi," "Erba Pura | XerJoff," or
Crème de Cuir Eau de Parfum are too sweet, too synthetic for me. Way too overripe fruit.
Well, with the pyramid of "Éclectique | Gritti," I was torn. It could go back in that overripe, synthetic fruit basket direction. Or it could highlight fruits with the Gritti DNA.
When the sample arrived, I was in love after the first spray. FRESH fruits with delicate flowers. Especially the typically powdery Gritti heliotrope gives the fragrance a lovely lightness.
I can smell the strawberry very well together with the melon at the beginning. After about 10 minutes, it turns more into a fresh smoothie with underlying citrus notes and a tiny bit of acidity from the currant. The coconut is subtle for me in the background and makes the scent nicely creamy.
On my skin, the longevity is about 5 to 6 hours. On clothing, it lasts all day.
I have found MY fruity-floral scent and I love it!

The Stag with the Golden Antlers
About 4 months ago, I ordered my first decant of
Moonlight. The fragrance pyramid sounded so extraordinary.
When the decant arrived, I was as excited as a little child. The first spray completely confused me. I smelled plum, chocolate, clove, and orange. So warm, so soft, so beautiful!
The progression is a back and forth between plum in Madeira and hot chocolate with spices and a slice of orange. Wintery and festive.
Fortunately, I don't get any BR540 vibes here and I also find the comparison to
Tobacolor inappropriate. Moonlight is absolutely standalone for me.
The longevity on my skin is between 8 to 12 hours. On clothing, it lasts until washing and sometimes even longer xD
With the sillage, you fill entire rooms, even with just 3 to 5 sprays. Here, you are definitely the person who can be sniffed out by everyone all evening.
It's not an office or everyday scent. I wear Moonlight for special occasions. And sometimes there's a spray just for me.
For me, it's the perfect gourmand that is definitely worth the money.
