My Favorite Cozy Sweater
FC is as warm and cozy as a favorite sweater. I love creaminess of the roasted almond in the opening. It goes so well with the cinnamon and other spices. Granted, if you do not like cinnamon, you should avoid this fragrance.

I get some clove and a bit of the matcha along with the cinnamon in the heart of the fragrance. As the almond fades out during the heart of the fragrance, the vanilla begins to appear, keeping the creaminess ofa the fragrance present.

The cinnamon remains in the drydown, which is smooth, rich and ambery, with just a little sandalwood to keep it grounded. Good performance. On me, it lasts about 6 hours before becoming a very light, spicy vanilla skin scent.

As some people think it's synthetic or too sweet, I can't say it's a great blind buy, but I think this is a marvelous spicy gourmand fragrance, perfect for fall/winter. It's my favorite scent to wear when curling up by the fireplace, with a good book or going to brunch with my girlfriends.

Beautiful Unisex Scent
This opens with the most glorious mix of tart, sour citrus, mostly grapefruit on me, subtle lavendar and the green freshness of rhubarb. I really did not think this combo of notes would work so well together- or at all, really, but I was so wrong. The combination is very refreshing and practically sublime.

In the middle, the citrusy accord, from the top notes, remains for quite some time in the heart of the scent, keeping the sense if freshness. The fir balsam joins the citrus first, at least on me. I grew up in a little house on the edge of the woods, where there were a lot of fir trees, and it's a relaxing scent for me. In 21CS, the fir is realistic, rich, woody and (obviously) balsamic. I really like the sour edge the citrus brings to the fir. With the sweet, nutty and only slightly boozy amaretto, it's a fabulous scent cocktail with a spicy accord.

The drydown isn't super special, but it is well done, maintaining the spicy accord, which goes well with the ambroxan, tonka and woody notes. For those who find ambroxan problematic, the ambroxan isn't too strong here. It softens and rounds out some edges, but it isn't dominant.

This is a superbly blended unisex fragrance, and at our house, it is a true homerun. My husband likes it on himself and on me (kinda rare), and I love it on both of us (not at all rare). I also think it's very versatile and appropriate for many kinds of events.

21CS has excellent performance, longevity is close to 9 hours before it fades to a skin scent, requiring a shower to remove. On fabric, 21CS is nuclear. Projection is approximately arm's length for the first few hours, and you'll leave a soft sillage trail, even as the fragrance fades.

Vanillic Gourmand but...
This is a very pretty vanillic gourmand. On me, the vanilla is so rich, it's almost lactonic. The mimosa is a nice floral touch, and the brown sugar note is realistic. I love the ambery, musky base, but by the time these notes emerge, FAW is almost a skin scent. The performance is average-ish.

The problem is there is nothing much to say about this fragrance because it's so unoriginal. My first thought upon applying was, "This reminds me of..." about 15 other fragrances. If you like gourmands, it is highly likely you own or have owned something very similar to FAW.

For what it is and how it performs, it is too expensive. You can find similar perfumes, which are just as good, for a much lower price.

Boozy, Leathery & *Unisex* (No Matter What They Say)
This is fabulous! Even though Pavillion Rouge is marketed for men, I was very comfortable wearing it, and I think a lot of other women would be just as comfortable as I.

The opening is spicy, boozy wonderfulness. I think it's the sesame rounding out the boozy notes, although I don't get a lot of obvious sesame. I love
spicy rum notes, but I enjoyed the rum and whiskey combo in PR. I am not always a fan of whiskey notes on me. They usually come off a bit sharp, or I smell like I spilled a drink all over myself. In PR, the whiskey/rum combo is beautifully done.

The boozy accord remains for a while as the heart notes come to the fore, and the fragrance becomes a little sweeter. Leather definitely dominates here, at least on me, and it is well-supported by a sweet tobacco and tea. The tea helps keep the scent from becoming too heavy. I don't get a lot of coffee, just a slight touch of bitterness, which balances everything.

I liked the drydown more than I was expecting, as I've not have much luck with ebony, but in PR, it's really good and combines beautifully with the Benzoin and Vanilla.

This lasts a long time, at least 8 -9 hours. The projection is approximately arm's length for most of that time. It does fade in the final couple of hours, but I still had a very pleasant scent-bubble. It is pricey, but it's also one of the best liquor & leather scents I've tested. If this is a scent profile you like, this is worth a try.

Strange Church
I am not a huge fan of this fragrance, even though I think it's an interesting idea, and there is nothing really unpleasant about it. It's fresh, woody and resinous, but for me, there is nothing reminiscent of church or religious services.

I like the freshness of the top, even though I wasn't thrilled by the green notes, which for me, were unidentifiable. I do love cypress, and nothing came off as terribly synthetic.

The incense and resinous notes are very good and compliment each other well, but I do not get even a hint of the smoke others perceive, which makes me sad. #£@&$% skin chemistry.

The drydown is okay but nothing very special, IMO. Even though it's pleasant, we are all pretty familiar with the patchouli/musk combo.

IMO, this leans slightly masculine, which is unusual for me. Even when wearing fragrances marketed for men, I feel like I make them seem feminine or unisex to myself and others. This scent retained a masculine character after the first 30 minutes or so.

I don't think this performs especially well. Longevity, on skin, was only about 3 hours before becoming a skin scent. For the first hour or so, projection and sillage are very strong, but it becomes more intimate pretty quickly.

I do think this fragrance is too expensive considering both the profile and the performance, but if you like fresh or incense fragrances, give it a try.
