I love you.
The first date. The first glow. The first flutter in the stomach.
That's how I felt about the fragrance after the shopping, unboxing, and first spray.
After that, the initial "love" faded. Everyday life returned, and the habits around it demanded their place. New perfumes joined the collection, and the gray bottle disappeared to the back of the shelf. There it was meant to spend a full year.

Today I walked past it. The first hint of autumn was at the door. Today back in black. Dr. Martens. Which fragrance?

A cold garden shower after sports called for a scent that warms. Lagerfeld Classic Grey does exactly that here. And there was the feeling again. Just more mature. Love.

Choosing something new again and again and realizing that you haven't forgotten it.

The fragrance is warm, fresh, creamy, and herbal at the same time. Incredibly well balanced in my nose, I find the price-performance fantastic, and the projection is more than good for me.

Thank you.

I know nothing...
that smells like you.
If I were to describe you in a picture, a scene, because I have never smelled anything like this, I would describe you as a warm blanket.
The blanket that you take to the beach, where you have been since dawn. In the morning, the air is cool and mineral from the sand. By noon, it gets hot when the sun is almost directly overhead. You can smell sunscreen and a lightly sweet fruitiness in the air. But that’s still not you.
You are there when we stay at the same beach, in the same spot until evening, and gradually more friends join us. There are snacks, a picnic blanket, and a small campfire, as the air is cool again. It is dark now, and you can only see the sea as a roaring shadow, apart from the sound.
We go swimming again. We always do that. Because the water is now warmer than the air around us.
And when we come out, we wrap ourselves in the picnic blanket, sit in the sand, and gaze as if hypnotized into the small but warm beach fire before our eyes, enjoying the moment like a dessert. A friend pulls out his acoustic guitar and plays a song that we all know and sing along softly. It is these moments with friends that give us the richness we otherwise try to create with material things.

I find it hard to "break down" the scent; I don’t want to do that - for me, it is complex. It is warm and cool at the same time. It is fruity, leathery, and creamy all at once.
That’s why this scenario came to mind.
I can’t gauge what season I would wear it in, because it doesn’t exactly come off as very summery, but also not wintry.
Possibly an all-rounder for me, that always works and always smells special.
I would like to claim that I probably still know too little about what can be smelled in combination. But this has amazed me, and my first thought when spraying it was "wow, I’ve never smelled anything like this." A beautiful moment. Like when you gaze hypnotically into a campfire, wrapped in a blanket on the beach, when the sun has already set.

human cheerfulness? - Wanted!
Do you know that feeling?

You smell a perfume on someone and from then on, you associate that person with that scent for all eternity? And every time you catch a whiff of it somewhere, you think your buddy is somewhere in the crowd, brightening people's spirits with his presence?

Wanted by Night is such a scent. It would be absurd if my buddy suddenly switched from mandarin to fig, plum, or bergamot.
It's often the same with cocktails. A guest orders the same cocktail all night long. He is the cocktail.
Personally, I would find that too monotonous, but the kindergarten kid you liked back then always had unbuttered toast with thick butter and Nutella - and was not allowed to bring anything else - not even a liverwurst sandwich or one with Gouda, on good days. No! Stick with what suits you.

A signature scent - at least for my buddy. One of many who doesn't care much for variety - maybe that's better? Perhaps we are no longer so easily associated with each other, with all the richness of facets we constantly engage in, because we get bored too quickly and constantly demand change, new entertainment, and different stimuli. You no longer know who is standing next to you in the crowd, even if you expand the crowd with your presence. So the person is also, in that moment - not there.

So - you, my buddy. Stick with the cocktail all night, be the scent I like so much on you.

"You Smell So Good"
One of the better evenings - a good friend, a good conversation, a - couple of cold beers, a decent meal. Quality time!
-
Since it seems that more and more people feel the need to publicly express their dissatisfaction about everything and everyone on the internet, I have made it my mission to share the good things with people when I want to say something.
-
So it was with my buddy. "Dude, you smell like you just got out of the shower - what is that!?" - I liked the answer. Cheapie from Rossmann - but it also reminds me of something from my shelf.
-
Legend Eau de Parfum - I find that quite fitting in this context.
But a bit fresher, a bit slimmer, yet wearable and delicious. With this, you always smell freshly showered.

It works well for me, has an absolutely solid performance-to-price ratio for what it costs.
It doesn't always have to be the brand with the expensive campaigns and the XXL margin.

Better to start small and first test the "hidden gems" from the drugstore shelf before wearing a fragrance that costs several hundred euros just because many people do it now. (no judgment) - it works too. Sometimes the little things are already masterpieces at their level.

The Comparison Falls Short, Paco.
Breathless, I opened the heavy box that the delivery person had previously groaned as they placed it in the hallway. The thing was a cube, wrapped in tape and bearing the fat label: "Caution: fragile!" - my new fragrances have arrived. It feels good by now when I part with perfumes that gather dust on my shelf instead of being worn, making room for new, unfamiliar scents.

There are no brands in this box that I recognize. Except for one perfume: Romamor Uomo - it caught my attention because I had bought the classic Roma Uomo Eau de Toilette a few years ago and had banished it after a short time because I didn't like the heart note. I can't name or define it, but there was a "Labello" note in it that turned my stomach. Some kind of "children's toothpaste" that I didn't like; the rest of the fragrance was great, but it simply didn't make sense to celebrate only the first and last third of the perfume when the middle was lacking.

And after I removed the foil and initially sprayed the scent on paper, I first smelled: mint. And then I thought: wait a minute. Can this be? Is this allowed? Was that something from 1 Million Eau de Toilette that I was perceiving here? At this point, some readers might either stop reading or mentally slap me, but for inexplicable reasons, I perceived it.

The next morning after my shower, I reached for the bottle again and sprayed four times. Two on the back of my neck, two on my front shoulder. Then I put on my light summer shirt, buttoned it up, and there was some of the "Roma Uomo (Eau de Toilette) | Laura Biagiotti," but without the part that I didn't like in the classic. It was heavenly. And even now, at my desk, I notice that I smell damn good and I'm glad to have received the flanker.

Perhaps the paper, specifically a newspaper that served as padding for the perfume, played a trick on me, and neither mint nor One Million were present here even in the slightest. Maybe my memory is also clouded, and I was completely wrong in my perception.

In any case, I can say that I really like the projection of the scent, especially now in the warming days in the office, and I feel like every ten minutes I catch a little whiff of it wafting up from my shirt collar to my nose. I am not able to select individual components; I often only manage that abstractly, and I do envy such fine noses from time to time. Be that as it may - it came to me and hopefully stays longer than its predecessor.

I hope my wife likes it as much as I do.
