French perfume house Hellenist captures the aromatic spirit of ancient baths with the unisex fragrance "les dieux aux bains", inspired by the love myth of Aphrodite and Adonis.

"les dieux aux bains" ("The gods at the baths") is an olfactory interpretation of ancient baths - carried by the freshness of herbs, water blossoms and warm woods. It was inspired by the story of Aphrodite and Adonis, which is linked to the legendary "Bath of Aphrodite" on the Akamas peninsula in Cyprus. There, the goddess is said to have bathed regularly and met the beautiful young man Adonis for the first time - the beginning of a passionate and tragic relationship. 

The composition opens with an invigorating, spicy-green accord of eucalyptus, juniper berries and tangy lemon. The Flowerpool® molecule emerges at the heart - a modern combination of floral and aquatic facets - complemented by rosemary and water flowers. The base of warm ambroxan, earthy patchouli and dry vetiver gives the fragrance depth, structure and a warm finish.

The fragrance was composed by Pierre-Constantin Guéros, who wanted to create an interplay of aromatic freshness and sensuality close to the skin.

les dieux aux bains is a fragrance that captures summer and evokes the feeling of losing oneself in a Mediterranean heath landscape full of magical herbs. It embodies a new aromatic freshness in which rosemary and juniper notes blend with a modern aquatic facet thanks to the chapter Flowerpool®️, a subtle allusion to a waterfall with turquoise water... With its overdose of ambroxan, this perfume offers a contrasting aromatic breath where the extreme freshness is warmed by a great sensuality, which is its signature.

Mythology in fragrance form

With "les dieux aux bains" the debut collection "Collection Mythologie" by Hellenist grows by another fragrant narrative. Each perfume in the line is inspired by stories of gods, heroes and mythical landscapes and interprets them olfactorily.

For example, "le chant d'Achille" evokes the hero of the Iliad with its fresh, woody notes, while "à l'ombre d'Artémis" translates the grace of the goddess of the hunt into green and citrusy facets. "les bras de Morphée", on the other hand, is intended to capture the embrace of Morpheus, the god of sleep, with its floral and creamy notes.
