What's special about the inconspicuous .....
..... but what makes it special?
At first glance, the fragrance pyramid does not reveal any particular notes.
A classic opening for a fresh fragrance, citrusy notes, fresh notes, something spicy - mostly pepper in different variations, followed by a woody heart note and, as is often the case, musk and classic base notes in the base, which you have probably read about umpteen times in various fragrance pyramids.
Is it the bottle and the packaging? Often a hit or miss with Arabic fragrance houses. Some brands try to design unusual flacons, but in my opinion they fail quite miserably. Bottles often look very cheap, there is hardly any emphasis on quality or it looks overly kitschy and almost embarrassing, so that I have even done without the original bottle for cheap fragrances just to avoid the horror... (at this point it should be said that tastes are of course different and this is just my subjective opinion)
The bottle of
Amiri is something special for me. Wrapped in a box made of hard cardboard in a noble matt gray, with a metal plaque and an engraving. At first you get the feeling that you're not buying a fragrance. In my opinion, it could also be a watch or a piece of jewelry. When you open the box, a gray lacquered wooden box with the brand logo made of metal, embedded in the glossy lacquered surface, awaits you.
Hidden inside and wrapped in black fabric is the 700 gram flacon, presumably also made of real metal. The bottle looks very high-quality and is really heavy, the spray head produces a strong mist and the fragrance lands on the wearer in a decent amount!
But again, it's not necessarily the bottle that makes the fragrance special for me. I do place a certain value on the surroundings, but it's mainly about the fragrance itself.
So what makes
Amiri so special for me?
It's the calmness that it radiates. The fragrance combines fresh notes with an ensemble of citrus fruits and spices in a very relaxed way and a really pleasant harmony. No note plays a leading role here, each note is coordinated with the others in the fragrance and forms a really pleasant symbiosis that you recognize when you first smell it, but when you wear it you notice that the fragrance does something different from many other freshies. Oriental flair plays a role throughout, but you never get the impression that you are wearing a typical Arabian fragrance.
Instead, the fragrance is really very pleasant and suitable for everyday use in any situation, it stands out but does not disturb anyone, it is perceptible and yet always discreet enough not to stand out. With a remarkable longevity on my perfume-friendly skin of easily +8 hours, it is a fresh fragrance with power!
So if you want to smell a slightly different interpretation of a fresh fragrance away from the classic fragrances known in the perfume world, you should order a sample here :)
Thank you for reading this far :)

In cold Britain with a gourmand and the love of a city.
Monday morning 9am.
Departure towards the airport with the destination - London Heathrow.
This fragrance has been waiting for me at the hotel reception for over a week.
I had already had the idea several times to order a fragrance that is difficult to get hold of in Germany while on vacation (thanks to @Inesz for the inspiration for this brilliant idea) and at the same time save a lot on shipping costs and now I had finally found one that had piqued my interest!
I had already been looking forward to this trip in advance, as it had been some time since I had spent time in one of my favorite cities. The fact that I was now able to combine this trip with some new olfactory impressions made it all the better!
Arrived at LHR, off to the Underground - Piccadilly Line - 39min ride separate me from my (perhaps) new olfactory love.
I left the subway, got out into the cold air - I'd already been told during the flight that 4°C and rain (typically British) awaited us and got to the hotel as quickly as possible.
Check in, room card and the nice lady was already smiling when I said my name (Oh, there's something that's already waiting for you) and so I happily accepted my package.
As soon as I arrived in the room, the box was already open and I was holding a heavy little box in my hand that opened like a book.
Inside was a black cushion with a perfect frame and a simple black bottle. Matt black lacquered with a shiny black plaque.
I took the lid off and the first spray landed directly on my forearm - WOW!
The top note opens with a picture-book gourmand, warm cinnamon and non-animalic oud form a really great sweet opening with the spicy cinnamon and a gentle alcoholic note and immediately gave me a pleasant feeling.
If you take a closer look at the fragrance pyramid, you might miss a cherry, as this note can also be detected somewhere in this constellation.
As I couldn't wait any longer and it was my first evening in London, the fragrance immediately became my evening scent and I sprayed it on my neck, nape and hairline several times as I usually do.
Sprayed and happy with my new treasure in the collection, I went out into the cold, rainy evening and the fragrance took its course.
After a few minutes, the sweet-spicy top note is joined by a warm blend of honey and pleasant tonka beans, which form a great symbiosis with the tobacco and add a shy orchid. Here, however, the (for me, not at all as it is often known, wax-like fragrance) plays the main role for me and one has the feeling that a warming scarf is wrapped around the neck from the various notes and protects it from the cold. That was the moment when the fragrance finally cast its spell over me.
If you give it a little more time, you are caressed by a pleasantly woody, slightly resinous fragrance base and the fragrance becomes a truly harmonious base to the sweet gourmand notes that precede it. The oud comes into its own here as a warm, slightly medicinal note and is by no means animalistic, but rather woody, soft and totally cuddly, snuggled into the other resinous notes and sweet accords.
The end of the city trip had come and I realized that I had only
2 other fragrances during the entire stay and otherwise automatically reached for
Halcyon Oud.
Now, 24 hours later, I'm sitting on the couch at home, 3 sprays on and enjoying this really great fragrance, just like the first time I smelled it, which has literally sweetened my stay and I'm really happy to be able to link the experiences I've had with a fragrance.
Thank you to everyone who has managed to read this far and survived my ramblings :)

Please not the next irrelevant freshie.
This was my first thought when I read the scent notes for this fragrance..
The usual suspects should of course not be missing in a freshie:
Citrus fruits, ginger, maritime notes and, of course, bergamot. Hardly any fragrance that claims to be a summer scent (or tries to) can do without these notes these days. Most people are probably already fed up with the usual 0815 freshie fragrances, all of which are then copy no. X of well-known expensive fragrances.
But this one does something different. To my nose, it has a constellation of notes that I have never noticed before. I can't smell where this unusual combination comes from, but for me it's not the typical dupe or the closest analogy to
Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette,
Basso
Isola Blu Parfum or other similar fragrances.
Is it the maritime notes that transport you to a beach bar in Ibiza, the light sea breeze swirling in your nose?
Or is it the resinous, warm base?
I will try to find out the twist in further tests.
Until then, I'm enjoying a feeling of warmth and summer with this fragrance in the current 2°C and typically uncomfortable April weather, with hail, wind and sun in constant alternation...
I don't want to praise this fragrance as the ultimate, but in my opinion it has remained hidden until now and doesn't need to hide from the other fresh fragrances. The bottle is heavy, holds up very well and the lacquered color gradient really makes a statement!
And until summer finally arrives, I'll be smelling this fragrance whenever I need to and bringing summer into my home for a day (or even for its good longevity)!
Thanks for reading ️

It's just advertising, as if the fragrance can do anything...
This is how the story began with the Pure Island fragrances, including this one.
While bored scrolling on Instagram, I saw the advertisement.
In typical Parfumo fashion, I immediately looked it up. Zack, opened Parfumo and had a look... hmm, neither the fragrances nor the house are listed, so it seems to be a little less well known. This aroused my curiosity, because I am always secretly on the "lookout" for the unknown fragrance that surprises me. So I submitted the fragrances to Research and ordered a sample set straight away.
So much for the prehistory, now let's get to the actual topic: the fragrance.
Ibiza starts with a pleasant, warm orange note, but not the usual orange blossom as is so often the case in perfumes, but a really beautiful, juicy orange.
The fruit was able to ripen under perfect conditions thanks to the sunshine and the pleasant year-round climate on the farm in Ibiza. This has resulted in a strong, yet balanced flavor.
After a brief individual appearance, pleasantly spicy and slightly balsamic notes are added by the myrrh, which blends in surprisingly well and underlines the sweetness of the orange very pleasantly.
Ambrette seeds add a very subtle powderiness, although this remains in the background.
The base of the fragrance is underpinned by a blend of warm, earthy patchouli notes and aromatic sandalwood. Both notes bring a pleasant warmth, but do not allow the fragrance to deviate too much from the actual fruitiness
They merely serve as support and
the vanilla adds a slightly different sweetness.
I perceive the fragrance as a well-suited daytime companion for many situations, with good longevity (+8 hours) and a really present but never overpowering sillage. In my environment, the fragrance has so far only evoked positive reactions, was very well received (even by those not interested in fragrances)
I can imagine the fragrance working particularly well at temperatures up to 30°C. Due to April, I have only been able to test it at temperatures below 20°C with satisfactory results
Conclusion: If you want to test an exciting orange fragrance, I can confidently recommend this fragrance. It's not the usual freshie, but in my opinion it doesn't always have to be the usual spring/summer fragrance, even if I like and wear them myself. This fragrance offers variety in the theme and really exciting too.
To pick up on the headline again:
Sometimes it's not wrong to let yourself be influenced to discover new things, to be positively surprised

Ouverture - A musical in three acts -
For a long time, this fragrance has been worth a review for me, as it has made it from a 2ml to a 5ml bottling to a bottle.
For me, Ouverture is like a piece of music, no rather a musical made up of various pieces of music composed together.
The prelude or the actual overture (i.e. the opening) begins with a green-sweetish start.
The main voice here occupies a really loud fig leaf, which is accompanied by a juicy orange in the drone. The orange is allowed to contribute something tangy and fruity, although it always remains in the background, as befits a drone.
The same applies to the appearance of magnolia. It is perceptible, but not through its own presence, but also as an accompanying voice to underline the scent of the fig leaf and make it somewhat more floral.
As soon as the second act begins (there is no classic curtain in this case, but the scent changes noticeably here)
another star enters the stage with loud aromas: cinnamon!
It also plays a leading role here, with a certain spiciness, playful and aromatic, it is accompanied on stage by almost shy roses and jasmine blossoms.
In this case, the floral notes play the drone, i.e. the almost constant accompanying tone, while the cinnamon is allowed to show off its complexity with a loud voice and really doesn't skimp on volume in its presence.
Ylang-ylang still tries to come into its own somehow, but is only perceived subliminally by the audience, everyone only pays attention to the main protagonist.
When the middle act leaves the stage after what feels like an eternity, the third act becomes somewhat quieter. After this opulent main act, it's time for something quieter, which allows the audience to relax a little and calm down.
A cozy warmth spreads, the curtain rises and a magnificent vanilla enters the stage.
Warm, slightly spicy and not too sweet, she stands with her legs on the sandalwood stage floor. The cashmere costume fits her like a glove.
It becomes quieter in the auditorium, you can literally feel the relaxing effect of the current actors on stage. None of the performers want to be too loud, they want to create a harmonious end to this really exciting musical. After all, the audience has been sitting in the performance for more than 8 hours.
The last words of the evening then belong to Amber and Incense.
They end the performance with their gentle aromas, escort the audience out of the auditorium and thank them for a super successful performance.
For me personally, Ouverture is much more than just an opening, it definitely plays a leading role as a fragrance. I perceive the fragrance notes as individually well-balanced, no note seems overdosed in the ensemble, none screams too loudly. Nevertheless, it is a really perceptible fragrance with a sillage that should not be underestimated. It easily lasts +9 hours on my skin with a room-filling projection.
If you have read this far and would like to experience a similar performance, I can recommend this fragrance to you, don't be put off by the first test, you have to get used to it a little.
