40 Knots?
This translates to about 74 km/h. Quite fast on the water. I would associate that with splashes of water in the face, refreshing, cool. I don't see that in this scent. It captures something entirely different in my eyes. Right after the first spray, I was amazed at how calm and somehow grounding this fragrance is. I don't perceive a fresh, fruity scent. No, it's not a typical summer fragrance.
Much more, in my eyes, it is a scent that transports me onto a sailing ship, anchor down, still, with no one around me. In shallow water, without waves (as I get seasick quickly), on a sunny day with a gentle, warm breeze that caresses the skin. A safe space, perhaps my current happy place, when I long for it.
The fragrance is very complex, sweet, salty, warm, creamy. It gives me a good feeling when I wear it, and I feel comfortable with it.
Longevity is all day long.
Since it doesn't feel like a typical summer fragrance to me, it can be worn year-round, exactly when one longs for summer and that warmth.
Anyone looking for a wave of refreshment, a loud rough sea should choose a different fragrance.

Floral Fresh and Good Mood
As a fan of
Le Mâle Pride Edition and many iris fragrances, I had picked this one up as a sample at another souk. I find
Orange Flamingo too strong, too much fresh laundry, and in this one, I have found the optimal middle ground. The iris makes it a bit softer without becoming too heavy. The orange blossom keeps it in perfect balance. For me, the fragrance feels rounder and more mature overall, and you can wear it for any occasion. Anyone who enjoys the scent profile of the aforementioned fragrances should definitely give it a try. It lasts me through the entire workday.

Modern Summer Freshie
Unaware of what to expect, I received a sample from a colleague and casually sprayed it on my arm during lunch. What unfolded was a tangy, rather masculine freshness. A green apple paired with this freshness reminiscent of herbes vives, but in my opinion, much more toned down.
After about 30 minutes, it becomes noticeably calmer and the woodier/floral elements come to the forefront. After another 3-4 hours, we arrive at a rather warm and light skin scent. For me, it's yet another perfume that I keep sniffing at my wrist and enjoying. And what is of course very important: my better half asked in the evening, while she had her arm around me, what that wonderful scent was. For the price, one can overlook the somewhat modest longevity. All in all, it lasts about 7 hours in the office. And if you want more, just apply a bit to your clothes and you're good to go.

Is it necessary to spend 540€…
…on a perfume? Admittedly, there is a certain allure to being one of the Knights of Love or attending the Round Table.
I don't own that many fragrances yet, but when I first smelled this one, it was the "most complex" scent I had encountered so far.
A bit smoky, and I’m not really into smoky scents… a bit floral, and floral fragrances are usually not my thing… then a bit woody, which is more my style, and then a hint of fruity/fresh… also to my liking.
The fragrance offers a bit of everything, and it’s so soft and rounded that it doesn’t have too much of anything. And that’s what’s impressive. Time and again, you perceive something new. We did a blind test with other fragrances, and this one was by far my winner. When I heard the price, I almost fainted.
In my search, I saw that it has a "fragrance brother." The "4. Montabaco Intensivo | Ormonde Jayne." Both are indeed very similar. This one feels a bit fresher, I think. However, for those who don’t want to spend that much, you can ease into it with the twin.
I think it will eventually find a place in my collection. Who wouldn’t want to be a Knight of Love? :-)

Floral Summer Surprise
I recently received several fragrance samples from a perfume house here, with the following requirements: a fresh summer scent suitable for the gym and everyday wear.
Included was this one with the note: It's really a hidden gem and very surprising, not necessarily a "shower gel scent," but give it a chance.
And I have not regretted it at all. What the Orange Flamingo brings too much of in floral freshness, this one executes better in the overall package. It is not as strong and intrusive, but rather a bit softer.
They start off quite similarly. You can smell this fruity freshness, which settles down a bit after about 30 minutes and transitions into a pleasant floral note.
The longer you wear the scent, the more the typical le Male note gradually emerges in the background. Not excessively or very clearly, much more something hidden far away.
This floral note becomes more subdued over time until the scent transitions to a skin-close woody note after about 8 hours.
I was completely surprised; after the original le Male, the others in the line didn't really impress me anymore. This scent is something new, unexpected, and one of my new summer fragrances. Also because not many people wear it, and it is not overly hyped.
I haven't been able to smell it on a woman yet. It would be interesting to see how it develops there. I find it tends to lean more towards the masculine side, but it is not a "macho-man-leather-jacket scent."
The new edition has significantly increased in price. The old bottle was available for under €80 and was really a "bargain" for such a great "niche-like" composition.
