Unfortunate Miss

I smelled Greenley in a store and absolutely loved it, and decided to see what dupes existed out there for it.

Unfortunately, Aether Extrait has not been the solution for me, and the big problem? Performance.

I read the same reviews I am sure everyone else has seen online, that at first when you get the bottle, you have to let it macerate/mature for 2-3 weeks and then it will smell like a dead-on replica with great performance.

Well, I have had my bottle of Aether Extrait for 5 months now, and it has not changed in the slightest. It lasts all of 10-12 minutes and then it is completely gone, and I have tested this with multiple people so I know it is not just me or my nose. It smells like nothing, has the performance of a gust of wind, and no amount of time has changed anything with my bottle.

If I could go back in time, I would not spend the money to buy this bottle again. I am not trying to be a contrarian, unfortunately this has just been my honest and true experience with my bottle of Aether.

When sprayed on, Aether starts off very green with a light apple sweetness and a lovely freshness.
The mandarin is noticeable in combination with the apple, as this makes it slightly sweeter than other green apples.
Rarely described here is the light florality that the fragrance brings with it, especially after spraying it on. I think you can feel the violets and in combination with the slightly creamy musk it makes the fragrance very cuddly.
However, the florality does not last long. In the dry-down, the fragrance becomes more mature with woody notes. The bergamot also adds a slight acidity. Nevertheless, the sweetness of the apple remains.
It is also nice that you can make the apple more and more prominent by spraying more, so you can vary the dose of apple yourself.

A very nice fragrance, which of course reminds me of Greenley, but somehow also reminds me of Percival in the dry-down, only much fruitier and sweeter.

Unfortunately, re-spraying is a must here. Not because the fragrance doesn't last at all, because it stays with me for about 5-6 hours, but the reason why the fragrance is so ingenious, the apple, unfortunately disappears quite quickly.

The sprayer is a dream and so is the bottle.

Highly recommended and perhaps better than the original, but at least better value for money.

Fresh green apple

Aether extrait French Avenue smells like a freshly picked green apple that you are about to bite into. The inspiration from "Greenly" / PdM is recognizable.

In addition to the obvious round fruit, the top notes are bergamot and mandarin. Violet and musk are further fragrance notes as the fragrance unfolds.
The fragrance also has a certain sweetness. But for my taste, it is not an unpleasant sticky sweetness, but rather fruity, tangy and sweet. However, anyone expecting or hoping for an aquatic note should temper their expectations somewhat.

Overall, I am very satisfied with French Avenue. Super summer fragrance.
And for just under €32 (+/- €5), it offers excellent value for money. I personally like it even better than Nexa Immortal (another Greenly dupe).

The absolute highlight is the packaging. Looks like a +€150 perfume.

Spring freshness with depth

French Avenue Aether is an extremely pleasant spring fragrance that smells very similar to the well-known Greenley by Parfums de Marly. A fresh green apple note unfolds immediately upon spraying, which is present but not overpowering. Overall, the green apple note is much more subtle than in Icarus 347 - but still refreshing and lively. After the fruity opening, the fragrance develops in a gently woody direction, giving it an elegant depth.
Despite the close inspiration, Aether is a successful composition that combines freshness with a light warmth - perfect for everyday life in spring or when the first warm days of the year arrive.

French Avenue deserves more attention

I received the Aether from FA as a surprise package, so to speak, and although I love PdM I didn't know the Greenley, so no associations. And then suddenly I'm standing in the middle of a very green spring forest: moss, herbs and resin all around me and silence and simply a soothing feeling. That's what Aether was after spraying it on and the feeling stayed for a very long time. A remarkable fragrance, not a daily one for me, but just like walking outside in nature across meadows and through the forest today. I LIKE.
