Unfortunate Miss

I smelled Greenley in a store and absolutely loved it, and decided to see what dupes existed out there for it.

Unfortunately, Aether Extrait has not been the solution for me, and the big problem? Performance.

I read the same reviews I am sure everyone else has seen online, that at first when you get the bottle, you have to let it macerate/mature for 2-3 weeks and then it will smell like a dead-on replica with great performance.

Well, I have had my bottle of Aether Extrait for 5 months now, and it has not changed in the slightest. It lasts all of 10-12 minutes and then it is completely gone, and I have tested this with multiple people so I know it is not just me or my nose. It smells like nothing, has the performance of a gust of wind, and no amount of time has changed anything with my bottle.

If I could go back in time, I would not spend the money to buy this bottle again. I am not trying to be a contrarian, unfortunately this has just been my honest and true experience with my bottle of Aether.

Spring freshness with depth

French Avenue Aether is an extremely pleasant spring fragrance that smells very similar to the well-known Greenley by Parfums de Marly. A fresh green apple note unfolds immediately upon spraying, which is present but not overpowering. Overall, the green apple note is much more subtle than in Icarus 347 - but still refreshing and lively. After the fruity opening, the fragrance develops in a gently woody direction, giving it an elegant depth.
Despite the close inspiration, Aether is a successful composition that combines freshness with a light warmth - perfect for everyday life in spring or when the first warm days of the year arrive.

French Avenue deserves more attention

I received the Aether from FA as a surprise package, so to speak, and although I love PdM I didn't know the Greenley, so no associations. And then suddenly I'm standing in the middle of a very green spring forest: moss, herbs and resin all around me and silence and simply a soothing feeling. That's what Aether was after spraying it on and the feeling stayed for a very long time. A remarkable fragrance, not a daily one for me, but just like walking outside in nature across meadows and through the forest today. I LIKE.

Great alternative to the Greenley

Another fragrance that is a little newer in my collection: Aether from the Greek Collection by French Avenue. A brand that has been extremely hyped in recent years and months and is giving brands like Lattafa a run for their money. In terms of quality, this brand can at least keep up with these Dubai brands, which mainly attract attention with fragrance twins. The role model here is quite clear: Greenley from Parfums de Marly. This is already a fragrance that I like quite a lot, but it didn't convince me enough for the price. I didn't really smell the high price in this one, so you can look around for cheaper alternatives. A DNA that can certainly be copied quite well as this DNA is not as complex as some other niche fragrances. I can warmly recommend this ether, even for younger people who simply like this fruity-fresh light-heartedness, here still with slightly greenish accents from this green apple. In terms of price, French Avenue is not always quite as affordable as other Dubai brands. Not a bad thing, as the quality is convincing and the price is totally reasonable at around €40 per 100ml.

The packaging and bottle are convincing, like almost all of these brands from the Orient. For this price range once again remarkable with this heavy packaging that already goes into the niche corner. For me rather ballast, but for people who like it well done with this folding packaging.
The fragrance is quite close to Greenley and catches that green apple note from the top note really well. You also get an extrait de parfum here. That doesn't always mean anything, but in this case you get a very intense apple scent, especially in the first few hours, which has a greenish and slightly sour touch. Definitely a casual fragrance that appears quite modern and carefree. The top note convinces with green apple, light mandarin, subtle citrus and a round woody note. This start is a little squeakier and louder than the Greenley, but not in a negative sense. Already very intense and pleasing. From the heart note onwards, this green apple note is toned down somewhat. However, the apple note is present for a long time, around 3 hours. Gentle notes of cashmeran are then added, making the fragrance supple and soft. There is also some petitgrain for freshness and a great cedar note. The creation is very pleasing and harmonious. The base consists of a great soft, light and creamy musky note and soft woods round off this base well. The Greenley is a touch more sophisticated, but here you get a great alternative that seems even more intense and louder to me. In any case, the fragrance is an alternative that I can absolutely recommend, especially for younger consumers on a budget.
Performance is really good for a fragrance in this price range and also with this fragrance DNA. Longevity should be between 8-10 hours and the sillage is really strong and convincing for the first 3-4 hours. Even after that, it is still easily perceptible. Great for everyday wear with this slightly showery apple DNA. A no-brainer that doesn't seem too complex.

Overall, a clear thumbs up for this great Greenley alternative. Will go down well with the majority. If you like the Greenley, you can't go wrong with a blind buy.
