Unfortunate Miss

I smelled Greenley in a store and absolutely loved it, and decided to see what dupes existed out there for it.

Unfortunately, Aether Extrait has not been the solution for me, and the big problem? Performance.

I read the same reviews I am sure everyone else has seen online, that at first when you get the bottle, you have to let it macerate/mature for 2-3 weeks and then it will smell like a dead-on replica with great performance.

Well, I have had my bottle of Aether Extrait for 5 months now, and it has not changed in the slightest. It lasts all of 10-12 minutes and then it is completely gone, and I have tested this with multiple people so I know it is not just me or my nose. It smells like nothing, has the performance of a gust of wind, and no amount of time has changed anything with my bottle.

If I could go back in time, I would not spend the money to buy this bottle again. I am not trying to be a contrarian, unfortunately this has just been my honest and true experience with my bottle of Aether.

Spring Freshness with Depth

The French Avenue Aether is an exceptionally pleasant spring fragrance that smells very similar to the well-known Greenley by Parfums de Marly. Right upon spraying, a fresh green apple note unfolds, which is present but not overpowering; overall, the green apple note is noticeably subtler than in Icarus 347 - yet still refreshing and lively. After the fruity opening, the fragrance develops into a softly woody direction, giving it an elegant depth.
Despite the close inspiration, the Aether is a successful composition that combines freshness with a slight warmth - perfect for everyday wear in spring or when the first warm days of the year arrive.

French Avenue deserves more attention

I received Aether from FA as a surprise package, and although I love PdM, I didn't know Greenley, so no associations. And then suddenly I'm standing in the middle of a very green spring forest: Moss, herbs, and resin all around me, silence, and just a soothing feeling. That's what Aether felt like after spraying, and the sensation lasted a long time. A remarkable scent, not a daily for me, but just like today, walking outside in nature over meadows and through the forest. I LIKE.

Great Alternative to Greenley

Also a fragrance that is somewhat newer in my collection: Aether from the Greek Collection by the brand French Avenue. A brand that has been extremely hyped in recent years and months, giving brands like Lattafa serious competition. In terms of quality, this brand can at least hold its own against those Dubai brands that are particularly known for their fragrance twins. The clear inspiration here is: Greenley from Parfums de Marly. This is already a scent that I quite like, but it hasn't convinced or wowed me enough for this price. I couldn't really smell that high price in this one, so it's worth looking for cheaper alternatives. This is a DNA that can certainly be copied quite well since it is not as complex as some other niche fragrances. I can warmly recommend this Aether, even for younger people who simply enjoy this fruity-fresh carefree vibe, with a slight green accent from the green apple. In terms of price, French Avenue is not always as cheap as other Dubai brands. Not a big deal, as the quality is convincing and the price of around €40 for 100ml is totally reasonable.

The packaging and bottle are impressive, like almost all of these brands from the Orient. Remarkable for this price range with this heavy packaging that leans towards the niche side. For me, it's more of a burden, but for those who like it, it's well done with this flap packaging.
The scent is quite close to Greenley and captures that green apple note from the top note really well. Additionally, you get an Extrait de Parfum here. This doesn't always mean much, but in this case, especially in the first hours, you get a very intense apple scent that has a green and slightly sour touch. Definitely a casual scent that appears quite modern and carefree. The top note impresses with green apple, light mandarin, subtle citrus, and also a rounded wood note. This start is a bit squeakier and louder than Greenley, but not in a negative sense. It's already very intense and pleasing. From the heart note, this green apple note is somewhat toned down. However, the apple note remains present for a long time, about 3 hours. After that, soft notes of cashmeran come in, making the scent smooth and soft. Additionally, a bit of petitgrain for freshness and also a wonderful cedar note. The creation is very pleasing and harmonious. The base consists of a wonderful soft, slightly creamy musk note, and soft wood rounds off this base well. Greenley is a touch more refined, but here you get a great alternative that even seems a bit more intense and louder to me. Definitely a scent alternative that I can absolutely recommend, especially for younger consumers with a smaller budget.
Performance is really good for a fragrance in this price range and also with this scent DNA. Longevity should be between 8-10 hours, and the sillage is really strong and convincing for the first 3-4 hours. Even afterwards, it's still well perceivable. Great for everyday wear with this slightly shower gel-like apple DNA. A no-brainer that doesn't seem too complex.

Overall, a clear thumbs up for this great Greenley alternative. It will be well received by the majority. Anyone who likes Greenley won't go wrong with a blind buy here.
