The older brother who wants nothing to do with the little brother!
As I am a huge fan of "Shaghaf Oud / شغف عود (Eau de Parfum) | Swiss Arabian," I immediately had to order a sample of the new
Shaghaf Oud Elixir when I heard about the new release. After a bit of waiting for a sample offer to finally appear in the Souk, my 5 ml sample was now in front of me. It had been a long time since I was so excited about a fragrance as I was about this one.
So, cap off, *Spray* *Spray*. *Spray* … WOW.
Even after the first spray, my entire apartment was flooded with the well-known DNA of "Shaghaf Oud / شغف عود (Eau de Parfum) | Swiss Arabian." Anyone who rates the sillage of this fragrance below a 9.0 should probably see an ENT doctor.
The same goes for the longevity. This is, as expected from its predecessor "Shaghaf Oud / شغف عود (Eau de Parfum) | Swiss Arabian," very good, but in this case, due to the higher concentration of fragrance oils, even a bit better.
So far, so good, let's get to the most important point. And that is the scent.
Let's keep it short. I find the predecessor (unfortunately?) much better.
The DNA of the predecessor is not as clearly recognizable as I had imagined.
Only after some time do the characteristics of the little brother also emerge in the big brother. In the first half hour, the two fragrances have little in common; the new
Shaghaf Oud Elixir could even pass as an independent fragrance in the Shaghaf Oud line from Swiss Arabian during this period. The Elixir stands out quite a bit from its predecessor, although the basic DNA becomes somewhat more present after a while, albeit a bit hidden.
I would describe the scent as follows:
Take the predecessor "Shaghaf Oud / شغف عود (Eau de Parfum) | Swiss Arabian," and throw in double the amount of oud. However, unfortunately, it is very synthetic oud, which remains very synthetic and even slightly piercing throughout the entire scent journey. Additionally, you throw in double the amount of chocolate, but this time dark chocolate!
The rose remains at the same concentration but becomes a bit more floral in the scent progression than in the predecessor.
The rest does not noticeably change.
All in all, I am rather disappointed with the new release due to the very prominent synthetic oud, as it makes the fragrance, which usually seems so high-quality, appear very cheap. However, I am a huge fan of the new chocolate, which comes across as a very dark chocolate as described above!
Unfortunately, the fragrance does not convince me enough to purchase the full bottle.
However, I will still very much enjoy making the streets
(and especially enclosed spaces!) unsafe with my 5 ml sample.
Cheers!
(By the way, the bottle is already available for order on the Swissarabian.eu homepage for just under €70 with free shipping. However, it is not available on swissarabian.com!)

This is how luxury smells!
It all started with a generous gift voucher from a friend, who introduced me to the exciting world of (niche) perfumes.
My first stop on this journey: "XJ 1861 Naxos | XerJoff".
With "XJ 1861 Naxos | XerJoff", I dove into a world of scents that I had never experienced before. This fragrance is not just a perfume - it becomes the perfect companion for special occasions as well as on days when I want to feel particularly special and confident in my skin.
Without wanting to give too much away - as you have surely read between the lines by now, I really like this scent a lot! :-)
On my skin, the fragrance lasts about 5 to 6 hours and behaves quite linear after the citrus top note fades.
Dominating are tobacco, honey, and a hint of lavender, which ultimately blend into a warm and very elegant composition.
The tobacco gives the fragrance a smoky and very deep elegance, while the honey adds a sweet, almost addictive, and very warming facet.
Once the fragrance has mostly faded and is only perceived closely to the skin, a very pure and warming vanilla note dominates the scent.
It's a pity that this wonderful vanilla note doesn't come to the forefront earlier!
In the end, the hype surrounding "XJ 1861 Naxos | XerJoff" is, in my opinion, undoubtedly more than justified. With its unique fragrance composition that exudes an irresistible aura of pure luxury, and its remarkably long-lasting yet not overpowering presence, it is a must-have for anyone even slightly interested in fragrances.
Cheers!

A Battle Between Sweet and Salty!
First of all, I love fragrances with a certain uniqueness, and this one has definitely hit my taste. The "Join The Club - 40 Knots | XerJoff" is such an exciting blend of sweet honey, woody notes, and a beautiful airy hint of saltwater.
The scent behaves quite linearly on my skin. About 5 minutes after spraying, the fragrance has fully developed and lasts for about 6 hours.
The honey note gives this fragrance a sweet, very warm character that takes center stage throughout the entire scent progression. The woody notes also come into play after a short time, providing a masculine, earthy dimension. This gives the fragrance an elegant and very serious character.
But the best part comes at the end - the saltwater note.
Before I got to sniff this fragrance for the first time, I couldn't imagine for the life of me how one could capture a "sea breeze" in a perfume - now I understand.
That is exactly what makes this fragrance truly unique and varied. The combination of the ever-present sweetness, occasionally overshadowed by a little "sea breeze." Wonderful!
A constant battle between sweet and salty!
This fragrance allows you to escape from the hectic everyday life for a brief precious moment and mentally transports you to the sea…..on your yacht………at 30°C………during sunset… - AND BACK TO REALITY!

As Chance Would Have It…
After being completely enchanted by the "XJ 1861 Naxos | XerJoff" from the house of Xerjoff, it was clear to me:
I absolutely must explore more highlights from this renowned brand.
So, I grabbed a 4-piece sample kit consisting of "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (Parfum) | XerJoff", "Accento | XerJoff", and "Join The Club - 40 Knots | XerJoff" to send my sense of smell on an exciting journey. However, the still vacant fourth spot in my sample kit remained a mystery to me - I quickly chose the Tony Iommi without thinking much about it. I had never heard of this fragrance before or even considered its scent directions. In short, it served as a "filler".
Filled with anticipation, I waited a few days and could hardly wait to discover these highly praised scents. As soon as the package delivery person rang the bell, I already had the first sample in hand. But to be honest, my initial reaction was rather subdued - perhaps my expectations had simply set the bar too high. I sat there, enveloped in "Accento | XerJoff", "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (Parfum) | XerJoff", and "Join The Club - 40 Knots | XerJoff", and thought somewhat humbly: "Yes, these are beautiful fragrances, but none of them has truly knocked me off my feet so far."
Now it was time for the last sample, which I didn't expect much from anyway, since it was just a filler. I unpacked it and sprayed it on - WHOAAA!!!!!
From the very first spritz of this fragrance, I was overwhelmed by its intensity and depth. The top note instantly immersed me in a bath of rum, in which overripe passion fruits were also soaked.
After about 10 minutes, I emerged from this "rum bath", dried off, and enjoyed a delicious passion fruit cocktail, where the bartender had added a small splash of the finest rum. At the same time, a pleasant leather note developed, accompanied by a hint of caramel.
As the long day at the "fragrance pool" finally came to an end, a dark, yet sweet and very warm caramel note remained on the skin.
I am constantly fascinated by how the fragrance undergoes a continuous evolution throughout the day, revealing new facets of its identity at every turn. However, it is unmistakably the Tony Iommi at every stage.
Ultimately, I found my favorite fragrance in a completely unexpected way.
The Tony Iommi by Xerjoff has absolutely impressed me with its incomparable complexity and sensual depth and will surely always hold a firm place in my fragrance collection. This scent is a true masterpiece that one must experience to understand its magic. Anyone who doesn't try this fragrance is missing out. Unique!
