Swiss Arabian has lit the afterburner.... / With success!
Hello everyone,

1-2 weeks ago I got a bottle of Shaghaf Oud Elixir thanks to my friend and I would like to tell you something about it!
You don't really have to talk about it - yes it is similar, even very similar and if we are talking about numbers, then it is certainly 90% to 95% (loose), there are no real noticeable differences - it is pure subtleties / nuances (a little more of it, a little less of it = something like that).

What you do notice is an increase in power and please don't get me wrong (!) , the normal Shaghaf Oud Eau de Parfum was already very very good and deserved a 9 - 9.5 each in the H/S, but here the creators have completely "escalated"!

For roughly 70€ (with the performance only) it is probably the strongest fragrance there is in this price segment! (Rose + oud + praline = a pure oriental gourmand powerhouse! )

Do you need it?

It's not unexciting and as far as I know it's limited!

Do you (necessarily) need it if you already have the normal one?
Rather no! Unless you sell the normal one after the test! Because whether you now have a fragrance that lasts 13 hours or 20 hours or more (it's still crass). Decide for yourself, it really impressed me!
Maybe we have an upcoming star here....., I wouldn't be surprised!

If I really wasn't convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you! (At least for a test)

And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you read this review, LG the Benny

Just "no comparison" to the original - much more mature!
The Shaghaf Oud Elixir is a new, independent Shaghaf Oud and has only rudimentarily to do with the original. unfortunately they are drooling again that they are bringing out a flanker that they call Elixir.
I would say it could have been called something completely different; Intense or whatever. But it wouldn't have done the fragrance justice. This is more of an oudy, darker fragrance that starts off completely differently in the opening. The saffron is more prominent and while the original had more praline, rose and sweetness, here we have a more oud-heavy fragrance that suddenly explodes after about 10 to 20 seconds. And the oud remains dominant. I find the oud used here better than in the original.
The Elixir is more of an amber oud fragrance. I am also of the opinion that the Elixir is more for experienced oud noses, newcomers to oud may be disappointed.
Longevity is around 8 to 9 hours and is for me the more "grown-up version" of the Shaghaf Oud!
Will definitely be a hit - like its predecessor! Absolutely recommendable! I bought the Elixir on the Swiss Arabian EU site and it was delivered to me within two days!

The older brother who wants nothing to do with his little brother!
As I am a huge fan of Shaghaf Oud Eau de Parfum, I had to order a bottle of the new Shaghaf Oud Elixir as soon as I heard about the new release. After waiting for a while until there was finally an offer in the souk for a bottling, my 5 ml bottling was now in front of me. I hadn't been as excited about a fragrance as this one for a long time.
So cap off, *spray* *spray*. *Spray* ... BOAH.

After the very first spray, my entire apartment was flooded with the familiar DNA of Shaghaf Oud Eau de Parfum. Anyone who rates the sillage of this fragrance below a 9.0 would do well to consult an ENT doctor.
It is a similar story with the longevity. As with its predecessor Shaghaf Oud Eau de Parfum, this is very good, but even better in this case due to the higher concentration of fragrance oils.

So far so good, now we come to the most important point. And that is the fragrance.
Let's keep it short. I find the predecessor (unfortunately?) much better.
The DNA of its predecessor is not as clearly recognizable as I had imagined.
It's only after a while that the characteristics of the younger brother also become apparent in the older brother. In the first half hour, the two fragrances don't have much in common; the new Shaghaf Oud Elixir could even pass as a separate fragrance in the Shaghaf Oud range from Swiss Arabian during this period. The elixir is therefore very different from its predecessor, although the basic DNA becomes more present after a while.

I would describe the fragrance as follows:

Take the predecessor Shaghaf Oud Eau de Parfum, and throw in twice the amount of oud. Unfortunately, this is a very synthetic oud, which remains very synthetic and even slightly pungent at times throughout the entire fragrance. We also throw in double the amount of chocolate, but this time dark chocolate!
The rose remains the same in terms of concentration, but becomes slightly more floral in the course of the fragrance than its predecessor.
The rest is not noticeably changed.

All in all, I am rather disappointed with the new release due to the very present synthetic oud, as it makes the fragrance, which always seemed so high-quality, appear very cheap. However, I am a huge fan of the new chocolate, which comes across as a very dark chocolate as described above!

Unfortunately, the fragrance doesn't convince me to buy the full bottle.
However, I will still really enjoy walking the streets
with my 5 ml bottling (and especially the closed rooms!) to make unsafe.

Cheers!
(By the way, the bottle is already available on the Swissarabian.eu homepage for just under 70€ free shipping. But not on swissarabian.com!)

Yes Pfia God dear Swiss-Arabic makers, what kind of H/S monster is this?
Shaghaf Oud Elixir. In short: this fragrance would need a different category, elixir is perhaps too short-sighted. A Dior Sauvage Elixir, for example, cannot keep up in terms of intensity.

Where should I start, there is so much to say and also: to smell...
There really is a lot to smell and not just for the wearer, far from it...

My first test of a similar oud fragrance was not so long ago.
I tested "Les Essences - Oud Mystique | Jardin Bohème" in Douglas and took it as an almost-blindbuy. In the end I didn't, the price of more than 90 € for this little gold-plated(?!) bottle was just too expensive for me.
And the H/S wasn't too sparkling after the first test. The fragrance, however, is really good and complex, so I'll write something again.

But how much luck can you have if you want the egg-laying wool-milk sow?
Now I come to the Swiss Arabian: An oud fragrance that radiates, so that it shouldn't really be an autumn or winter fragrance for interiors and priced so well that you could pay 40 € for the empty bottle alone in terms of design (also gold-plated?!) and get the whole perfume with 100 ML, thanks to my souk partner...

Then, at that moment, there is simply no more.

The fragrance itself starts with a huge sweet-spicy oud-rose cloud that envelops everything around you in a fragrant (smelly?!) oriental milieu. You feel like you're in a dream of a thousand and one nights (...) enough dreaming.

A sober, serious view & description:

Just leave it out completely indoors if you don't want to annoy others. It could certainly be unpleasant for you, especially for your nose. You really have to be 100% behind the fragrance. Here, however, you are in the middle of the fragrance & it will stay with you all day and certainly also at night, because you just can't get rid of it. Please only try 1/2 a spray if you can somehow manage it.

Avoid spraying it on your clothes, this could turn out to be a mistake ;)

Also for yourself:
You will definitely only wear it on certain occasions and not when you visit your relatives, for example, unless they like it.

I could imagine wearing it on long evenings out for dinner or on vacation to stand out and where you don't care what others think about you. I don't want to write too negatively about it here, because the scent itself is good - but somehow way too strong...

Fragrance progression:
It retains its sweet-spicy oud-rose base for a very long time and remains very intense for up to 7 hours. After that, it loses a little of its spiciness and the sweetness gains more and more strength, making you want to lick it. A beautiful praline-like gourmand note.

At the end, there is more rose and it finds an appropriate final chord, which in retrospect makes the fragrance more complex than one would have expected.

All in all, you get a very intense fragrance for comparatively little money, I will also test other fragrances from the Swiss Arabian brand.

Absolute purchase recommendation, if you want to dare something & definitely want to stand out.

Addendum: I've just read that most Swiss Arabian fragrances have an above-average H/S, so apparently it's not such a big surprise that this fragrance just does you in :-)

Oriental price-performance killer with high quality
As an avid fragrance fan, when you read the word "elixir" in a new fragrance offshoot, I'm sure it's not just me, but you immediately suspect more marketing gimmick than real added value. Combine this with the word "limited edition" and you've already heard enough. Here, however, the new version of the well-known fragrance is almost worth it.

Starting with the packaging, it has to be said that you get an amazing upgrade to the normal version, at least as far as the box is concerned. But it doesn't matter, so let's get straight to the fragrance. If you read through the fragrance pyramid of the Shaghaf Oud Elixir compared to the normal version, you can see that pink pepper, sage, musk and amber have been added as fragrance notes. In my opinion, however, only the pepper really stands out in comparison to the normal version. The fragrance itself remains true to its name and, like the normal version, offers a combination of rose, oud and praline.

At the opening, the fragrance is still a little jumbled, like other Swiss Arabian fragrances, and it takes a few minutes for everything to settle. After that, however, the magic of the fragrance begins for me. You can smell a classic rose-oud combination of the cheaper variety, but the rose in this duet is more in the foreground and reminds me strongly of the rose note of Shaghaf Oud Aswad. The definitive focus, however, is the praline note. And it is precisely this combination of gourmand and well-known rose oud that makes the fragrance so ingenious.

Compared to the normal Shaghaf Oud, however, the Elixir is finer and more restrained. While the normal version is sometimes a little penetrating and can also smell a little synthetic in puffs, the Elixir version smells much rounder and of higher quality. The Elixir is somewhat more mature and reserved and also offers a more restrained performance in terms of projection compared to the normal Shaghaf Oud. In my opinion, however, this is a clear advantage for this fragrance and makes the Elixir seem like a niche version of the original.

Longevity is very long as usual, only the projection is somewhat more moderate compared to the normal Shaghaf Oud, in my opinion this makes the Elixir more wearable. Some may assign a more feminine side to the elixir, I would describe it as unisex.

And you can currently get all this for 30-40€. There's a lot going for it here, as long as you're into oriental and gourmand fragrances. Really impressive and I hardly know of a fragrance that has a better P/L ratio than this one. A big recommendation from me, also an excellent gift, for example.

Do you need the fragrance if you have the normal version? Not in my opinion, but if I had to choose, I would always go for the Elixir. However, I still don't understand what is supposed to be "Limited Edition" about this fragrance at Swiss Arabian.

Oud, velvety rose, and warm amber. Vanilla sweetens it up quite a bit. very dense and thick. Massive sillage - be careful with the sprays

We have never known sillage before this. Sprayed it straight out of the box on paper and the kitchen smelled of perfume the next day.

Oud-saffron-vanilla blend with a rosy twist and a surprising lactonic-powdery finish. Unusual but unrefined; good value nonetheless.

Less sweet than SO, the rose is a little more fruity and the oud notes are more pronounced. It's like a more elegant evening edition.
