Hi Oriane !
Thanks for your warm welcoming note.
Hello. My name is Gökmen, born in 1978. I live in Germany and have been using fragrances since the 90s. Back when I was a teenager it was all designer fragrances ("JPG Le Male, Versage Blue Jeans, Eternity for Woman is definitely unisex today , Joop Homme, Kenzo pour Homme and Sculpture" for example). I still use the “JPG” today and to my nose it is still the most beautiful of the “Le Male” series. “Kenzo pour homme” was reformulated sometime around 15 years ago and is no longer available 1:1. This was an incredible board before the reformulation.
A few years ago, I received "Cuiron" from Helmut Lang as a gift, which was my first beautiful new fragrance in 15 years. Unfortunately, the bottle is now almost empty and the fragrance or Helmut Lang perfume is no longer available. I started looking for it and came across niche scents, got TF "Ombre Leather" and my interest in niche scents began. I found “Parfumo” online. My arsenal is getting bigger every day
I have already read and learned a lot about scents here on this site. Nice :=). But I'm relatively new here and also relatively new to niches. I'm happy to exchange ideas, whether it's fragrance or opinions. But I still have to get my head around it. Thank you so much for everything so far!
Oh yes, if anyone has “Cuiron” in any form, please let me know :=)!!
Danke & let's have fun together
^^^ Welcome. Glad to have you here. I hope you enjoy the site. 😊
This site is very enjoyable , thank you
Hey Y’all, this is my first day here. Just created my account. I recently started venturing into the fragrance world. I’ve always loved fragrances my entire life but the last two months I’ve started my collection and research.
Feel free to add me as a friend.
Welcome Bmart09. Glad to have you! Be careful, though, as you are about to fall down the rabbit hole. Before you know it, you will be the proud owner of 100+ perfumes! 😁
Hello and welcome to all newcomers! It's great to see you all joining the community. Hope you have a great time here! Fee free to ask questions in the forum ✌
Welcom Gman and Bmart09! 😃
Hello everyone,
I'm a student from Sweden, and while I prefer to maintain a certain level of discretion online. I'm excited to rekindle my passion for fragrances after a long hiatus. Over the years, I've explored various hobbies, from headphones, fashion, you name it. But my obsession with fragrances has drawn me back into this smelly rabbit hole. I used to interact with another fragrance database, but decided to switch over because of the better organisation here. Most of my fragrance interaction still happens on Discord though.
Currently, I'm immersed in sampling different scents and sharing my quick thoughts (statements). Not too comfortable at the moment to write longer, more in depth reviews frequently. Hopefully one day I'll be able to interact with people on the Souk section and offload some of my stuff that's collecting dust 😅
Not sure if it's allowed. But I've a spreadsheet, where me and my friends have been working on. It's a spreadsheet for people whom wanna explore niche discovery boxes and online retailers/sampler, mostly focused on the EU market currently.
Best regards,
Hi, my name is Melvin. 41 years old and from the Netherlands.
I was an officer in the airforce for 12 years and since 2016, I'm a freelance editor, translator and online marketing specialist.
Besides fragrances, I love watches (mostly mechanical), comics (European), gentleman fashion, science-fiction and cycling.
Nice to meet you all!
Hello Melvin! Happy you could join us. I hope you enjoy your time here at Parfumo. 🙂
Cheers,
Oriane

Too, funny! Welcome, John. I hope you enjoy your time here with the rest of we perfume addicts. Are you familiar with Rogue Perfumery by any chance? The founder is also a chef turned perfumer. 😃
Hello everyone!
I’m currently living in Germany but I’m originally from Australia 🦘 I’ve been an avid perfume collector since I was in my late teens with a collection that ranges from cheapies, celebrity and designer fragrances to lesser known houses. I’ve been fortunate enough to make my own perfume twice doing perfume workshops in France. I’m hoping to learn more about niche houses as well as what notes I really like most.
My favourite perfumes at the moment would have to be Sana Jardin- Incense Water, Jo Malone x Zara- Elegantly Tokyo and Fragonard- Grenade Pivoine 🌹

Welcome. I hope the site helps your love of perfume to grow and expand.
Hi everyone!
I'm from France, Normandie which is a lovely region. I go by he/they pronouns.
I've become really interested in fragrances last year during a trip to Frankfurt. I saw a Diptyque stand in a shop there, which is a brand I had never encountered. My first fragrance love was Phylosykos, it was the first time I encountered a fragrance that much different from the ones you buy at regular shops. Very realistic and I was so transported ❤️
Didn't buy it because Diptyque bottles are pricy, only bought the bottle last November but the scent kept in my head all that time!
Before that I never was interested in perfume beyond having a bottle at hand for special occasions.
I care a lot about gender roles, and so about gender labelling of perfumes. I think they are restrictive and often serving the narrative of gender roles in society (always cringed at the marketing). I'm happy to find perfumes that blur the lines despite keeping a marketed gender!
You can see in my collection that I purchased more after finding Phylosykos! I'm in a phase where I'd like to explore as broad as possible the spectrum of notes and scent profiles, and enjoy the process of getting to know the classics and discovering new types to love!
As for presence in the forums, I always have been a lurker but I may get my head out once in a while if the topic piques me!
Hey!
I am from Spain. I currently live in Berlin, finishing my degree. My signature scent is La Nuit de L'Homme Le Parfum but I am thinking about changing it, I grew a bit indifferent about the scent. My night out fragrance is
Le Mâle Elixir and I use
Valentino Uomo Intense (2016) for a winter time fragrance.
Nice to meet you all!
Hi everyone, my name is Francesca. I am Italian living in Germany. I was anosmic for almost my whole life until two years ago when I got pregnant and started to smell things! As a kid I used to love the perfume bottle design and I'd buy the minis. Now I am actually collecting mainly niche Perfumery and found a great community on TikTok but I also recently found that I like this website much more than Fragrantica and am excited to know more perfume lovers!
Hello Francesca, and welcome to Parfumo! I am so glad to hear you are finally able to smell fragrances. What a lovely change for you! I hope you will enjoy many years here with the Parfumo community.
Cheers! 🙂
Hey, hi, hello.
I've been enjoying Parfumo for a couple of months so I figured I should introduce myself. My name is JJ. I live on the Mid-Atlantic east coast of the US.
I came of age in the 80s (Halston Z-14 Cologne) and 90s (
Joop! Homme Eau de Toilette) so I tend to be drawn to big, bold, complex fragrances (hello, Francesca Bianchi) -- and I love woody, earthy, and animalic (skanky, even) fragrances. During the hot, humid summer months I'm drawn to white florals (
Wedding in Oaxaca,
Tuberose Tantra) and, as of last year, fruity, playful fragrances (
Déjà Vu started this new interest off for me -- it's a great summer-on-the-boardwalk scent).
I've loved perfume since childhood but have to say that the pandemic/quarantine really accelerated both my love of, and knowledge of, fragrances. Ordering samples and decants and researching what I was smelling was very definitely a coping mechanism/form of escapism for me during that time.
Outside of perfumery, I'm a photographer, with my work having appeared many of the big publications. I don't want to sound cagey or self-promotional, so if you're interested in seeing my work please message me and I'll share a link to my portfolio!
Cheers, and thanks to the Parfumo team for all the work you do to keep things so great over here!
Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie, and I live in California. I just turned 40, and I use she/her pronouns
My fragrance journey really started when I got into indie perfumes, but as many of you know--there are so dang many! During the pandemic I got more into traditional/non-oil fragrances, because it turns out I really do prefer a spray to an oil 99.9% of the time. I don't care if something is niche, indie, mainstream, cheap/drugstore, or designer, I am just drawn to fragrances that speak to me.
My obsession with beauty led me to fragrance, so makeup is my first and true love, and I view fragrance as an extension of that. If you like colorful or interesting makeup looks, you can find me on Instagram as whimssy.steph. My makeup ethos is "wear whatever makes you happy." Life is too short to avoid doing what you want to do and not expressing yourself.
I make art and occasional write things. Creativity is one of the things that gives me life, so you can see why I view makeup and fragrance as artforms as well. I collect vintage science fiction books, have a degree in Literature, and own three pets: two cats and a dog. I also have a husband whom I adore, and we have been married for 21 years.
It is nice to meet you all, and I hope that we get to share our passion & knowledge about fragrance.
