what do y'all wear to raves?

do we have any ravers in here? i wore Delulu out this weekend. it stayed on my skin really well and would hit my nose while i was dancing. it really improved the experience.

I haven't been to a rave (I live in the middle of nowhere, never had the option to) but if I did, I'd borrow my brother's bottle of In Love With Everything . Seems like it'd fit the vibe.

I don’t remember what I wore to EDC. It’s been nearly a decade.

If I was to wear something to a rave now, it would probably be Sauvage Elixir; Sauvage elixir would be an olfactory punch to the face for all douchenozzles blowing weed smoke in my face. Haha

I know I know. Raves are supposed to be all love, but I hate the smell of weed.

I don’t usually do raves, but Coachella is the closest thing I’ve experienced. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that I don’t remember what I wore last time — because, well… how do I put this? I was heavily medicated...🙃

I think it was one of my old Body Shop perfumes. Maybe Strawberry? Strawberry Eau de Toilette ...I definitely didn’t bring anything expensive, since tents often get raided or broken into and things end up stolen.

If I had to choose now, I’d go for something intensely fruity, like a bold mango or tropical punch vibe. Something that cuts through the desert heat and still smells fun. Like:

For authentic 1990s vibe I would choose probably rebellious Angel Eau de Parfum, popular CK One Eau de Toilette or psychedelic Karma Perfume. From newer fragrances zesty citruses like Ectoplasm Perfume or Neon (2023) would probably give bright energetic rave light show vibes. Also perfumes like Psychedelic Love or Christian Lacroix - Absynthe could be fitting.

I like to wear Cyan Nori Parfum Extrait It is juicy and weird and the extrait oil has incredible staying power without projecting too much and bothering other people

Happy to hear it! I got a sample of Pony Boy and as soon as I sprayed I thought it would be fun for a festival. I’ll let you know how it works out later this summer

Technically, the whole Coachella thing is a late-stage capitalist utopian nightmare. You pay absurd amounts of money to pretend to be a hippie in the desert, during sandstorms and heat so intense it’s hard to breathe, and you get nosebleeds. You stand in line for hours just to use a shower or bathroom. Burritos cost $40. The music? Totally worth it, though. You can stay in a hotel, but that’s not the “authentic” experience. I’ve stayed in the Lake Eldorado VIP tents, which is more like glamping than actual camping. We even had private security, but stuff still got stolen. It’s like anywhere else: don’t leave valuables in your tent. There are no doors — duh! Carry a small purse, or leave your things in the car. If you're showering, take your stuff with you in a Ziploc bag. My friend  took a bunch of *shrugs* and ran off into the desert, wandering for two days in search of the "meaning of life." When he came back, his entire collection of designer clothes and merino wool T-shirts was gone. But, like, whose fault is that?

It depends if it`s outdoors or indoors. Indoors, I tend to get panic attacks in large crowds, so I like to wear something that makes me feel like I stand out and won`t get a lost in a sea of people. I tend to reach for Rush, because it projects like crazy and also because it`s the quintessential 90`s rave scene perfume.

When I go to Fuji Rock, it`s hot and humid in Japan, so I tend to wear refreshing citrus forward perfumes like Cristalle Eau Verte Eau de Toilette Concentrée or Un Jardin sur le Nil Eau de Toilette or Live in Colours.

I wouldn't be at a rave unless I was forced to and, if so, I would lock myself up in my Mitsouko Eau de Parfum bubble 🙃.

Just spent a fantastic 5 days in Albania for the Anjuna Explorations festival and ended up with The Code of Emotion as my dancing scent. It is fruity and nice for warm weather but still Bianchi funky in the sea of bodies
