Half masterpiece, but really good when it's good.
There are already a lot of good reviews about this great cologne, so I'll just mention a few more here.

1. The positive side of it is that it's incredibly sophisticated and high quality, priced at just over $20 for 100ml. I personally consider Versace L'Homme like the 2000s version of Cartier Santos with soapy water instead of sandalwood cream, or Armani Eau Pour Homme with green grass instead of lavender.

2. It was released in the mid 80s, but has some vibes of the 70s. In particular, the opening of Herbal Lemons, which would have been clearly considered old school in 1984 too. That's why it is decisively different from the colognes of the 80s what like muscular machos with exposed chest hair. I get images from Versace L'Homme like a casino and a black tuxedo, a long hairstyle that covers the ears, and a brightly lit chandelier.

3. The problem is the old school lemon and musk. Lemon citric acid can be found today in many areas of life, from dishwashers and toilet fresheners to anti-Covid-19 hand sanitizers. That's why the old school lemon on top of dirty musk are often reminded of the odor of toilet bowls or urine. Recently, I've been impressed a lot with Rochas Moustache Original (version 2018), and it also has the same problem. It smells like an old luxury hotel, but at the same time it smells like a toilet. Anyone who likes classic men's colognes will easily understand what I mean.

4. Anyway, Versace L'Homme is a cologne that is heavily influenced by season and weather. It doesn't always work in its best condition. In summer, especially on wet days in summer, the lemon comes out seriously too much and smells like a toilet bowl. On the other hand, on a very cold day when the temperature is below freezing, the herbal notes are clumped and the soapy water part is too prominent, and at that time it smells like a laundry detergent.

5. However, on days that are neither too hot nor too cold, it works very well. Based on South Korea where I'm living, it is around May, September, and October. When the temperature is around 10~15 degrees Celsius. At this time, you can clearly recognize both fine and rich green herbal notes, cinnamon that tastes almost delicious mixed with spicy carnation, woody notes that add mildness, and classic tonka vanilla. It is considered like a cologne that is five or ten times more expensive than the price. Of course there's no smell of urine at all.

6. The current version seems to have almost no oakmoss. Nevertheless, Versace L'Homme lasts quite a bit. Rather than just sticking on the skin, it has a type of scent that is absorbed in the body and gently emanated. If you think this cologne has a nasty smell of urine or something, leave it as it is, and try it again in another season. If limited to autumn (and a bit of spring), it scents like a timeless masterpiece.

P.s. Sorry for my insufficient English sentences.

Better than the recent batches of Aventus
Although the notes announced are very different from those of Creed Aventus or Mancera Cédrat Boisé, there is a great similarity between Loewe Esencia and these two fragrances. Opens with citrus, which lasts the entire life of the scent and joins the sandalwood. This perfume does not have the smoke of certain batches of Aventus. The nuance here is the slight green note that appears and makes the perfume very pleasant. It is a very good perfume, which I prefer to the last batches of Aventus and which has a similar performance. For the price, I definitely choose Loewe Esencia.

Scent Battle: Supernova vs. Elysium
Yesterday I made a comparison, side by side, of Elysium Cologne Parfum and Supernova.

In terms of scent, for my nose, Elysium wins by far. The opening of the Elysium is citrusy but smooth, light, almost transparent and with a touch of red fruits. The opening of Supernova has those citruses typical in some clones, which I pick up at the CDNIM drydown, at the opening of Bucephalus No. XI. It is not unpleasant, but it is more sharp, more synthetic.

In the drydown, Elysium is a bit woody and has a musk that makes the perfume rounder and more comforting, I would even say sexy. Supernova also has woods and spices, but it lacks musk.

Supernova is very pleasant in the air, but when I smell my skin, there is something that does not charm me, unlike Elysium.

Concerning performance, Supernova wins easily. It lasts two hours more on my skin and the sillage is more noticeable.

Elysium: 9/10.
Supernova: 8/10.

A Queen of Subtlety
Exquisite composition by Sonia Constant, radiating an smooth aura of inviting and supreme sophistication.

There is a delicious opening of icy green mandarin and basil; fine, fresh ... Blended with a heart of sensual cedar, seductive musk and mysterious ebony.

I have the three fragrances from the Bleu Noir collection by Narciso Rodríguez: For me, this EDT Extreme is a step further on the path started with the original but in a smoother and "aerial" direction.

This new version is fresher but deeper, and softer but more seductive - in my experience - than the first EDT (which is safer and more versatile throughout the year). It makes a perfect match with the EDP to cover all the situations to get closer...

The juice has excellent quality, but be careful: It's a fragrance of delicate nuances, so it is not for rude noses: Projection is soft - just as it must be a true classy scent -. Possibly, it won't be loved by "loud" guys.

- Duration & Projection: Moderate to soft; for me it's a long lasting subtle projector: + 8h of refined scent waves.

- Mood: Cool, seductive, masculine, inviting...

- Age: >25.

- Scenario & Ocassions: It can be used at any time, but will shine especially on spring, summer and early fall sunsets...

- Conclusion: An elegant, contemporary and excellent "designer" release. I just love it.

Wonderful masculine aromatic...
A modernized version of the classic Dior Eau Sauvage, suitable also to younger people, as it presents sweeter and fruitier top notes with smooth lavender and resin mixed in, followed by an aromatic-spicy heart combined with some musty-green aldehydes, mellow jasmine and a creamy sandalwood that lead the way to the long-lasting base where it loses some of the fruity-aromatic accords in favor of woody-ambery tones (vetiver, oakmoss, cedar, patchouli).
On my skin it has a wonderful evolution from fruity-aromatic top to woody drydown and a great projection/sillage in the first 1-2 hrs., lasting on me up to 6-8 hrs.
Overall a very solid quality fragrance from Dior at a still fair price. My personal ranking 9.5/10. Highly recommended.

Marvelous creation.
Another marvelous fragrance from Dior, sadly discontinued in 2017.
I think it's important to keep in mind that this 2012 parfum is not an 'intense' version of the traditional Eau Sauvage. This one is pretty much different and, imo, the main difference here is the masterful simplicity of combining three wonderful masculine notes (bergamot, myrrh and vetiver). The result: a balsamic, exotic, sweet-citrusy masterpiece and, in my opinion, the reason of this release success.
More oriental and a little bit darker than its Extreme 2010 predecesor, with a solid myrrh note, very well combined in the whole of the composition, surrounded by a zesty citrus top and an earthy moist vetiver base. It lasts 8-10 hrs on skin, with a noticeable presence in the first 2 hrs, a versatile and compelling creation. My personal rank 9.5/10, highly recommended.

Inviting masculine myrrh...
A mature aromatic-balsamic fragrance for confident men.
Strong patchouli with a green bergamot starting notes may seem 'oldish' to some people but the drydown after worth waiting for...
You will be rewarded with a delightful oriental aura, not too strong, but smooth, warm and distinct, because the amber/myrrh/vanilla combination is doing a really great job here.
Nothing harsh, slightly soapy, overall a sexy long-lasting and inviting smell for fall/winter seasons. My personal rank 9/10, recommended.

Spring rain...
A beautiful strange fragrance and even though very typical of aromatic-fougere type.
Eager to try when I received it, I sprayed 3 shots and was hit instantly by a dark cloud of grey amber, violet leaf, patchouli & musk that almost choked my senses. It's like a dirty oily concrete perimeter that surrounds a violet & patchouli garden under a spring rain and I just love it !.
The spray mechanism is very effective so I would say a max. 3-4 sprays in a normal day to get the whole feeling experience. Ambery, fougere, wet, musky, aromatic, dark, long-lasting...it has them all !. My personal rank 8.5/10. Recommended. Nice job Mr. Francis Kurkdjian !

So much criticism... who cares?
This scent is elegant, masculine and just magnificent. However the Dior Homme line (the original scents) for me is some kind of a joke. Dior Homme Original and Dior Homme Intense smell like a baby powder mixed with cocoa - not manly at all. Better name for the original scents would be "Dior Unisex".
I know that people are used to those original scents, but I do not understand what would they expect from the new 2020 version. The same scent or what? It would be extremely boring if you ask me. Anyway, the 2020 version is a fragrance on its own and it is a great scent.
Sorry fragheads...
