Comme c'est belle, mon chérie!
Well, this is a very pretty fragrance to say the least. While it's nothing groundbreaking or inventive compared to other fragrances from L'Art & La Matière, it is a gorgeous one, and a very formidable candidate for my quest to find the best rose fragrance. It strikes the perfect balance between fresh, fruity, sweet and floral, and never becomes excessive or jammy like some rose fragrances are known to do. It opens up with a blast of bright pink rose, almost like you're being drenched in a refreshing rosewater. As it settles down the rose becomes a bit powdery and dense, but very clean and composed overall. Fully into the dry down, the fruity notes come forward and create what feels like an almost pillowy pink cloud around the supple rose notes here. It's a very wonderful wearing fragrance that envelops you and makes you feel 'pretty' in a way. Also worth noting is that despite the very 'pink' and fruity feeling of this fragrance, it never feels overly feminine, and actually feels very unisex, so I recommend everyone give this a try regardless of preferences.
This one will rank relatively high in the L'Art & La Matière for me. It is yet another example of how, at times, fragrances need not be inventive or earth-shattering in concept to be excellent pieces of perfumery. This is one that I can see myself enjoying quite a bit, and another that might land itself in my 'full bottle worthy' category. Quite wonderful stuff, and definitely worth a shot for any of the fans of rose out there.
