A nice bargain-bin find

Guess Man is a pleasant aromatic for men, which turned out to be a rather surprising find in a bargain bin. For anyone on a tight budget, this fragrance will most certainly please you.

In all honesty, Guess Man is not a fragrance that will blow you away, but it does have some truly likable qualities. I wouldn't mind smelling this on my man every now and then. It's fresh, but not in a citrusy or aquatic sense of the word. It has some marvellous green fir, lavender and nutmeg nuances which are surprisingly smooth and masculine.

Guess Man strikes me as being very relaxed and casual, perfect for those occasions where you just want to kick back in the comfort of your own home. It's not necessarily bland, but it's not the right fragrance if you want to impress. To a female nose, Guess Man smells friendly and crisp.

The drydown is rather musky with a hint of soap, providing that clean skin feeling. If you're one of those men that like to wear a scent to bed to help you doze off, this fragrance could work a treat. I should mention that this scent also lasts.

I'm rather thankful that Guess Man didn't turn out to be a citrus aromatic (as classified above). I am more than impressed by this fragrance and I have no qualms in recommending it as a versatile and inexpensive scent for all types of men.

Fresh Fir

I really like the brand Guess. In the fragrance world, it is known more for drugstore prices, while in the fashion and bag world, it is somewhat more expensive. In addition to many clothing items, I also own three fragrances from this LA brand: Seductive Homme, Guess Night, and this one here. All solid fragrances for me that can be had for little money. In terms of performance and quality, the price-performance ratio is good. For 20 euros, you get 75ml.

I have had this one in my collection for several years. It has only been used rarely, which should not diminish the scent. I believe I bought this fragrance blind a few years ago, without looking at the fragrance pyramid. Back then, I thought: Hey, this smells totally like fir. The fir is definitely the main note of this fragrance. Fir is a wonderful scent for me, which almost exclusively reminds me of Christmas trees. Those who like this note can certainly wear it in warmer temperatures as well. For me, it is more of a fresh scent for mild to cold days.
In the further development, some spicy notes come in, specifically pepper, ginger, and nutmeg, alongside the powerful fir. There is also a slight woody note present here. A very pleasing composition that will hardly disturb anyone. It is well wearable on colder days when you don't always want to wear heavy fragrances.

The performance is quite good for the price. It lasts a few hours with good to moderate sillage.

Guess Man starts citrusy - woody, but also a little bit herbal.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to our Parfumo "Honk1510" for the decant and the remaining bottle.

At first, one can perceive a very fresh, citrusy - woody ginger that really wakes you up.

At the same time, there is something sharp - zesty present, thanks to the white pepper, which even gives the ginger a slight herbal note.

The white pepper has been used in such a way that it doesn’t cause sneezing fits; rather, in my opinion, the pepper harmonizes remarkably well with the ginger.

There is also an aromatic - spicy nuance in the background, which is responsible for lifting the herbal note into the air and comes from the nutmeg.

Guess Man doesn’t have a real progression; it merely changes over time.

As it develops, I perceive something Mediterranean - herbal, slightly sweet, thanks to the lavender, which provides a nice maritime note.

There is also something angular yet soft that can only be leather, which is responsible for giving the fragrance a pleasant tangible depth.

And yet there is also something ethereal - fresh present, which comes from the fir and ensures that the scent remains fresh - herbal.

In the last 2.5 hours, one can perceive something reminiscent of vanilla, which also brings a slight hint of chocolate and is thanks to the Peru balsam.

There is also something pleasantly clear present, without reminding one of freshly washed laundry, and this is due to the musk.

In the very background, sandalwood acts with its creamy - spicy accents and provides a nice, cuddly finish.

Overall, the fragrance lasts 7 hours on my skin.

The sillage is designed from the start so that one is only perceived at a quarter arm's length, and this is maintained for 3 hours before it gradually reduces until the scent finally fades completely.
