Between oud bouquet and rose d arabie

tested yesterday thanks to a work colleague who had this perfume.

you immediately feel the oriental notes at the beginning it reminded me a lot of Jo Malone velvet oudh and rose, then after a few minutes I had the impression of a mixture of this reference with the risala arabian oud and oud bouquet from Lancôme.

a reference which does not bring anything new there are almost 25 perfumes which smell of this smell and this is felt in the street and in gathering places where this type of smell is more and more present, aggressive and intrusive.

for those who don't know, we smell the oud, the rose, a little vanilla, then to this is added an unpleasant stifling burning black incense.

rather feminine, heady and favored for winter and its icy days. boring I don't recommend it.

Once upon a time...

All this time I've been leaning right next to her.
Her scent rises into my nose,
fruity, vanilla but not too sweet , mmmh...

'Oud Blanc' was pitched to me as a "beginner's oud", which turned out to be a good tip. It's the combination of oud (light), incense and date that has me so excited here.
Vanilla comes later still to close the bag, but does not slay.
No plastic association, date smells like date. The whole thing is simple (as is the bottle), but with announcement.
A fragrance for Cinderellas or Cinderellos in Chucks, who do not need the very big appearance.

The bright joy

Those who flinch violently at the keyword oud may still be able to relax with the latest Collection Extraordinaire offshoot.

Although this eau de parfum noticeably contains eaglewood, according to Anne Flipo this is more like burnt oud, which is supposed to be quite intense, but here it is warm and soft and has been steamed down to a translucent level. The result was an oud note that is present but absolutely soft.

There are also some gourmand notes, such as date and vanilla, whereby the latter, together with frankincense (perhaps rather benzoin), makes it look as if some light chocolate has been used. Also goes very well with white, light musk.

The date in turn gives the whole composition a fine, delicately fruity-sweet underline, whereas the rose appears more as if breathed in.

Oud Blanc remains, as could not be expected otherwise, quite linear. And it's no surprise that the date runs out first and oud with white musk remains most consistent.

Well - this is all done quite well, even if the wheel is not reinvented here. What we have here is an extremely pleasant autumn scent that brings together the components of soft oud with unobtrusive gourmand notes in an exemplary manner. For hardcore oud aficionados rather uninteresting - for beginners a welcome opportunity.

Life is unfair

Personal Blindbuy Disasters Part 1...

These days I have time. Time to read me here criss-cross through. I came across this Van Cleef & Arpels fragrance.... i have already Moonlight Patchouli and
Collection Extraordinaire - Bois Doré... and they are great.

I was immediately intrigued by the scent description of Oud Blanc: Dates!!! I love them! The described creaminess and soft sweetness so praised by many.... yes I was hooked.... i had to have it... a gourmand oud scent - it must be an olfactory dream. And almost everyone has loved it so far! So here we go with the 75ml bottle, what could go wrong with such a wonderful scent description.
Yes, today it came.... and you guessed it.... it was totally eye-catching.
I anticipatory opened the bottle, and gave 2! discreet sprays on the forearms. Slightly rubbed and expectantly held the Näslein. This immediately warped and backed away reflexively. What the heck is THAT?!? Where is the promised date, the soft sweet creaminess? Where the rose? All I smelled was some fermented vanilla bean with a pungent, sweet - sweaty note. And unfortunately, that's how it stays with me.... i thought at first, calm down... it'll be fine, it has to eventually. This creamy date must be somewhere, right? But no, only this sweaty note remains stubborn and hangs in my nose like pitch. The more I smelled it, the more this accent disgusted me. For me it was clear: The goes on immediately - between the fragrance and me the air burns - in the negative!
And now for the greatest injustice:
After 1 hour, my teenage daughters came into the room. I was already bracing myself for a comment, alla: "What smells so disgusting?"
But far from it, both!!! Girls immediately asked, "What smells so good?!"
Wordlessly, I held out my forearms to them. They smelled them, and rapturously told me of vanilla flowers with incense, of sweetness and cream - all that was denied me.
I asked them about sweat... they looked at me aghast...
Despite my daughters' enthusiasm, he will not stay with me - I have a feeling we are not made for each other.

Perfect for colder days

I find this fragrance very pleasant. I can't imagine that it could bother anyone, even though it contains oud and incense. For me, it is the perfect office fragrance. Because it goes in the oriental direction. But still not so in-your-face. Sweet, creamy, woody with an oriental touch.
