The company was established by Dr. Ellen Covey, who familiarized herself with several countries (Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy) and their culture through her family's multiple travels. Covey also gathered cultural and aromatic experiences in the US, which she explored scientifically at a later stage in various courses of study.

In 2006, Ellen Covey founded “Olympic Orchids Inc.”, a high-quality orchid plant nursery. The brand "Olympic Orchids Perfumes" followed four years later and gained international exposure.

All fragrances are researched, hand-manufactured, bottled, and packaged in-house under the supervision of Ellen Covey - also known as “Doc Elly”. Essential oils, natural minerals, and perfume alcohol all sustain the perfumes' high quality, and the fragrance concentration is always between 20 and 30 percent. “Olympic Orchids Perfumes” produces vegan, rejects all kinds of animal testing, and refrains from using artificial colors and preservatives during the production process.
