Interesting Facts
The French family-owned company Sisley (to be distinguished from the fashion brand of the same name belonging to Benetton) develops and distributes high-quality skin care, make-up and perfumes. For three generations, the d'Ornano family has been involved in the development of luxurious cosmetic products, making it a world-renowned brand.

When Hubert d'Ornano founded the Sisley company in 1976, the terms aromatherapy and phytotherapy were still little known in Europe. In phyto-cosmetics, natural plant extracts are used in beauty products. The company can be seen as a pioneer in the use of plant extracts and essential oils for beauty products.

Sisley's products are developed in research laboratories just outside Paris and are mostly manufactured in Blois.

Well-known perfumes include the fresh green "Eau de Campagne" (1974) and the fragrances "Eau du Soir" (1990) and "Soir de Lune" (2006), which feature a chypre accord. In 2011, the brand launched its first fragrance for men, "Eau d'Ikar".
Van Cleef & Arpels
The company philosophy of the brand "Van Cleef & Arpels" consisted and still consists of only one word: Luxury! All products, designs, materials and functions are geared towards this goal. And because "Van Cleef & Arpels" combines this effort with an unusually high level of craftsmanship, the brand today enjoys a very high reputation worldwide.

The brand was founded back in 1896 where luxury and style are at home: in Paris. The two company founders Salomon Arpels and his son-in-law Alfred Van Cleef were able to attract attention with extraordinary jewelry, watch and fragrance creations. They won over their discerning clientele with new techniques in gemstone working, creating entirely new design collections. At the same time, they deliberately opened their boutiques in places where their clientele also liked to stroll. Thus, the death of Salomon Arpels in 1906 led to the opening of the brand's first fine boutique directly opposite the famous "Ritz". In the years that followed, other locations such as Vichy, Nice and Monte-Carlo were added.

The high art of jewelry making made some of the most important personalities of the 20th century customers of "Van Cleef & Arpels". For example, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Eva Perón and the Duchess of Windsor enjoyed shopping there. For Queen Nazli of Egypt and for Empress Farah Pahlavi, "Van Cleef & Arpels" even created the coronation crown in each case.

Since 1999, the brand has been under the direction of "Compagnie Financière Richemont SA".
