I am currently on the 4711 oldie wave and there's still the third all-round genius from Cologne missing. After mothers and grandmothers had 4711 Eau de Cologne and lavender sachets in their handbags, the teens needed something too. But please, not stuffy and boring. The packaging was sleek and modern and in a practical stick form. It fit well in the handbags the size of the young ladies' wallets. It could be applied with a roll-on or dabber. So, a piece of synthetic fabric that allowed for a similarly targeted application of the scent. It started off quite fresh like everything from the 4711 house. But to make it even cooler and more refreshing, mint and menthol were added. This created an additional cooling effect. Even though it smelled a bit like a pharmacy. Today, this fragrance direction is called aquatic. For me, it was just a bit too chemical, but with a high recognition value. I couldn't really warm up to the scent. My friends couldn't either. Teens wore something else. But my grandma was thrilled and wherever she was, the surroundings were cooled with Ice. She had to reapply often because the scent disappeared quickly. Although I like fresh fragrances, it wouldn't be for me today either. But for me, it belongs to the 70s like flared jeans, platform shoes, chain belts, and flashy hairstyles.
