Overwhelmed by candied plums. But only briefly.
Last summer in Croatia, bought blind at Bipa for 15 EUR. Man, the bottle! And the name! Surely a "Terre d'Hermès (Eau de Toilette)"
-clone. Back at the beach, I immediately applied it to my wrist, and instead of roasted oranges on asphalt, I was overwhelmed by candied plums. Not quite, or rather absolutely not, what I expected, but hmm ... not bad. I sniffed the entry point, as I had never smelled anything like it in that form and especially in the drugstore category. If Fragrantica is to be believed, it leans towards "Hermessence Ambre Narguilé." The pyramid would fit. And I have to get that one later too, because: longevity & sillage play in the same league as the Austrian national team; practically non-existent. Just a drugstore scent. There’s also no real development. Sugar and liqueur-like plum, wrapped in cinnamon. I perceive these three notes nicely articulated. Again, rather atypical for a drugstore scent. However, after half an hour, hardly anything of this initially quite intense combo is noticeable, so it’s probably more suitable for a (short) evening on the couch with your loved one than for anything else. What a shame.
