This series gives me puzzles
The colleague here is giving me some headaches. Not at all because he is badly done, but because he does not keep what he pretends by name. Unfortunately some other fragrances can do that too, but at ACM&K you get the impression that something has gotten mixed up within the series ...
My last comment was also about an Eau de Cologne. However, it was from the 50s and with an exciting blend of sandalwood and lavender. Is not necessarily typical for EdCs, but it was so indicated and comprehensible. Even the performance was convincing in all respects.
ACM&K has with it at least the commonality that it develops quite unusually for an EdC. Keep quite tangy and refreshing as it should be more or less for this genus, but after a few moments a fine dry-powdery lipstick iris appears, as you know it from Dior Homme.
Of course, that's not a flaw in itself. On the contrary: ACM&K has a decent pound to offer and is an excellent autumn fragrance. But somehow the kumquats seem to be strongly watered down and the myrrh can hardly assert itself. What definitely dominates from front to back is sweet-powdery iris.
And now comes the mystery. At the beginning of May I had tested Saffron & Iris from the 4711 Acqua Colonia series and commented. Exactly there I missed the iris, which appears so omnipresent with ACM&K.
I don't know if and what you were thinking. But Iris fans will come probably rather with ACM&K at their expense. The only question now is which Aqua Colonia is intended for friends of kumquats and/or myrrh.
