Lost Avon classic...
This was Avon at its biggest and best as far as I am concerned. I have a large blue bottle with a silver flame on the cap. Its large and stately. Just don't look too close as you can see through it. Make sure you find an original bottle as what came later in the silly collector bottles were all greatly reduced in strength. What is inside is my favorite of all time from Avon.
After the popularity of Charisma which roared carnation and rose, Avon produced Moonwind that whispered lavender, lily of the valley and Jonquil. That was after the HUGE green aldehyde roars open. This rocket fuel propels it to the moon. The heart is like moonlight on quiet lake. There is some rose, jasmine, iris surrounded by vetiver and oakmoss. It sits on some delicate amber and sandalwood. Overall, its a classic and refined composition.
I was only 7 when this was released and my mother alternated this with Charisma. She had all of the style of 1971-Mod earrings and festive polyester prints in blue, green and aqua. She was not a perfume snob with her collection that included Guerlain and Estee Lauder. She entertained with Avon. I will always remember her festive parties and Moonwind filling the room at night. It was affordable American style that defined a generation.
Today, about once a year, especially on a full moon, I give a spray and let my imagination soar. Moonwind is still amazing!
