The Bentley not just for pepperbags, or is it?
So now the time has come. I dare to write my first review. Rien ne va plus, nothing works anymore. The die is cast! You have to go through it now. Well, life has a lot of difficulties and nastiness in store. Let's see how I do.
Why this fragrance of all things? To be honest, there's no particular reason. It's not one of my particular favorites, nor can you expect Bentley's image and if you already know one or two of Bentley's fragrances, a somehow experimental and bulky extravagant niche fragrance that has yet to be "learned" and finally it doesn't have a single rating yet because almost nobody has it.
But now I don't want to keep you in suspense any longer. I can imagine that the excitement is already boundless (please add a smiley face. Thank you).
The fragrance impression is basically carried by the scents of grapefruit and rhubarb, of course the eponymous pepper, which is accompanied by a slightly fruity-hot chili note and a hint of incense. It's all very well-behaved and by no means bad, and it also makes your nose tingle a little. However, I can't detect any great development of the fragrance over time. The composition already seems rounded. No one note really stands out or presents an olfactory challenge, but the combination of sweet and sour grapefruit and rhubarb with the dry spiciness of pepper is at least not an everyday occurrence. The whole thing is then steamed with incense and topped off with a pinch of finely ground cedar. The result is an uncomplicated everyday fragrance that can be worn all year round, perhaps with the exception of the really hot summer months. You can definitely do it and I feel like wearing it from time to time. By the way, as always, please be sure to test it on your skin. On paper, the pepper somehow comes into its own much later and the fragrance also seems much sweeter and fruitier than it actually is.
So to summarize briefly. Good, uncomplicated, harmonious fragrance and definitely not sweet-gourmand for me. I would say fruity-spicy with a rather subtle sweetness and nice acidity as a counterpart. Well, that went quite well and if you've made it this far, have an enjoyable rest of the evening. Goodbye and goodnight.
