Old love never rusts
Even though this perfume is no longer available, it still deserves a brief comment from me.
For a while, it was something like a 'signature scent' for me - even though I didn't even know that this word existed back then.
Bogner Wood smells very soft and cuddly from the very beginning, but - very importantly - not sweet.
Almond and cinnamon in the top note might be accurate - I simply perceive it as creamy-spicy, with the creaminess clearly dominating - it has something of almond milk. Although I wouldn't mind if the cinnamon were a bit stronger.
Fortunately, I can smell this almond milk much more than the listed flowers in the heart note; had I known that lily of the valley was included, it would have been a dealbreaker for me at the time of purchase.
But back then, I didn't know anything about these things and just relied on my nose ;)
Somehow, this very nice top note lingers on me for quite a while before slowly transitioning into the also very pleasant base of vanilla and woods, before the scent gradually fades after a few hours.
It's a shame that this fragrance is no longer available.
And a little anecdote on the side: When my daughter saw the picture, she remembered how she went to Müller with her dad as a little girl to buy the perfume I wished for my birthday, which I had shown her beforehand.
In the meantime, both can shop for birthday gifts for me on their own - what progress ;)
