Deep dark chocolatey oud with cherry

Delectable. Oud Hindi reminds me a bit of Lao Oud. Both feature deepest darkest chocolatey oud. So beautiful and comforting. I don't get anything of the barnyard. Oud Hindi offers a subtle hint of maraschino cherry, then vanilla in the drydown. I did not detect any of the top notes listed. In fact, I felt this fragrance was more or less linear. Simple and gorgeous.

40 year old Indian oud

Oud Hindi is uncompromising, wild and profound. The focus is on a 40-year-old Indian oud, which immediately conquers and dominates the stage with its animalistic presence. However, Bortnikoff provides the rugged main protagonist with an unusual accompaniment - sour cherry and vanilla. These are supposed to put a stop to the overpowering main protagonist, but in my opinion they unfortunately don't succeed.

The oud is very demanding and sometimes biting for me and I was really looking forward to its counterpart, the cherry, as it is a rare combination. Unfortunately, the cherry doesn't really come through and only gives a very vague hint of what it could have been like.

PITY there would have been more in it!
H/S are good, although I don't know if I should really celebrate that.
