strong, dark, and fearsome
A voluptuous, leathery myrrh with a heavy hand of pepper. The mandarin opening fooled me into thinking this was going to be a fruity-pepper, but the leather thunders in around thirty minutes to lay down the law. The myrrh provides a slight sweetness once the citrus scurries out, as well as a faint smokiness. It’s a “speakeasy” scent in my mind: dark, deep, indulgent. Sillage and longevity is knockout. Not even a full day of compulsive hand-sanitising could kill it at my wrists. Spritz safely.
I’ll admit, I was primarily lured in by the vessel. The Venice collection bottles all look like a molten pineapple Haribo bear in a top hat, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. None tempted me enough to rationalise the cost, but Alchemie might have been a contender if the pepper and leather weren’t so imposing.
