Jewel in Black Blue Velvet
Velvet pouch, you beautiful, thickly padded one, you release him with a gentle tug, the small, tiny gold blue jewel made of metal and glass………with 7.5ml of golden dream water.
The mothership in large, with 15ml content, is no less jewel-like, representing an oversized ring with a blue gemstone, also made of glass and sturdy metal.
Back then, value was still taken into account, both bottles are refillable. Both are exactly the right packaging for the precious drop.
The fragrance pyramid is extremely diverse, only outlined here.
Green, viscous opening. Asant, the thick juice of a galbanum species, is surrounded by floral nectar and very gentle, here more restrained, apricots and honey-soft broom.
The pure perfume reveals itself in its full splendor as a true chypre, yet by no means too harsh.
The longer it remains on warm skin, the warmer it becomes. I don’t find it sweet on me; the EdP is rather sweeter, more apricot-like.
It increasingly showcases more and more rich nectars of divinely fragrant flowers, always maintaining the connection to the resin and also to a slight dose of oakmoss.
The heart, as already described in my review of the EdP, is the true amber. Through it, the fragrance gains the stature that makes it special.
The longevity can be measured in eternities when it comes to amber. Deep, sensual warmth.
The scent can be briefly described in one word: WOW.
It is a rather dark fragrance. Mystical. Enveloping, warm.
A milestone of the French perfumery art of that time.
