Airy-Light Floral Cream
Aria di Capri sings a song, but not necessarily one - as the name suggests - about the air of Capri. The fragrance sings a lively, cheerful song in the Profumo version, but it is not loud, not one that drowns everything out. It sings a floral-woody song and not a citrus-spicy one. A song about a sunny garden in full bloom with creamy-warm mimosa and delicately fragrant jasmine, aromatic bay bushes, and sun-warmed cedars. The citrus fruits in the top note flash briefly - far too briefly to label the scent as citrusy. A potpourri of Mediterranean herbs in line with the Capri cliché is not offered by Aria di Capri, but its absence does not bother me in the slightest.
Aria di Capri is not a typical summer fragrance, but a delicate, bright, airy-light floral cream with little sweetness and a woody base that unfolds its magic even in winter's deep temperatures. Overall, Aria di Capri reminds me of Givenchy's "Extravagance d'Amarige."
