Paris-Biarritz
Paris-Biarritz begins with its citrus notes out in full force. According to Chanel, it is grapefruit and mandarin orange. But, I definitely pick up on a lemon note, pretty clearly. To me, it actually starts off the strongest.

The citrus is juicy, refreshing, but very cold. Almost like they threw in an iced accord. The composition does have a bit of an aquatic note in there. Almost oceanic, in how it comes across. Now, it isn’t super powerful, but I get it each time I spray this perfume.

Beyond all of that, the neroli not adds to the citrus, while also creating a green and spicy fresh undertone to Biarritz.

Once the juiciness of the citrus has faded, this becomes drier, greener, and more floral. Neroli and lily of the valley are the floral notes here. Paris-Biarritz becomes a balanced mix of those along with some ample vetiver, musk, and patchouli.

It’s a light soapy citrus with woody, green, and musky aromas exchanging places during the dry down. It’s something I’ve experienced with plenty of other scents, but the watery/sea vibe I get, does give it some distinction.

Very helpful Review 19
The lady with the lemon
Years ago I once saw - in a castle or museum, I don't remember exactly - a portrait of a lady in a dress made of light, airy silk muslin. She smiled kindly at me, her viewer, and yet looked past me, into a kind of infinity at my back. She was holding a lemon in her hand. I remember that I found this very unusual at the time and therefore asked the museum lady what the mysterious lemon was all about. And she answered simply: bitterness.

In those days, when the beautiful lady had her portrait painted, it was not socially 'comme il faut' to flaunt your unhappiness. It was expected of a comtesse or a lady of commerce - or whoever had the means and leisure to commission a portraitist - to be cheerful in public. Being portrayed with a lemon was the only non-self-compromising way to show how unhappy she really was. That impressed me so much at the time that I memorized it.

Is Chanel's Paris - Biarritz the fragrance for a bitter, unhappy woman? No, of course not. Is it a perfume that invites you to pause and reflect beyond its superficially cheerful freshness and Chanelesque elegance? It certainly is. Named after the legendary seaside resort in the far south-west of France (more so in the late 19th and early 20th centuries than today), it adds a serious echo to these two - cheerfulness and sophisticated elegance - and a look into a kind of infinity. If you let him.

Beyond lively, feather-light citrus serenity and the established 'comme il faut' in every fiber of its fragrant being, it has a subtle, bittersweet tremor - shy lilies of the valley in shadowy ground - like an impatient urge for a caress never received. This makes it interesting, unexpectedly elevating it beyond the expected - beyond hesperidic freshness and the brittle, cognac-colored old tone that is so iconic for many fragrances from the House of Chanel and from the pen of Olivier Polge.

Conclusion: a superficially bright fragrance on its journey from Paris to the southern Atlantic coast. It is accompanied by a delicate, enigmatic sadness - like the painting of that beautiful, nameless lady with the lemon in her hand.

Rafraîchissement de Chanel
The small bakery is only a few hundred meters away from the cottage.

A wonderfully lukewarm wind creeps around her skin.

The sun is shining through scattered clouds that line the otherwise light blue sky.

Her black stilltos, with a gold decorated tip, leave a fine audible "clack" on the large stone flows, which with time appears quieter and then more and more inaccessible to him

He saw his wife walking between the large mandarin orange avenue; she had chosen the cream-coloured satin summer dress, which reveals a very generous view of her back and even a very little bit of her bottom.

She knew that he would enjoy this view and she also liked it once again before the distance becomes too great, to turn her head back for a moment and look into his deep blue eyes and leave something unique behind.

He will never forget her transparent, fresh greenish-sweetish, fine fruity scent; this describes her true lightness and still youthful interior, which is carried by an intense elegant, powdery floral cream ~ note of lily of the valley.

Paris - Biarritz Chanel.

All in all, the fragrance lasts for hours on my skin.

The Sillage is designed from the start to be a good perceptible quarter arm length for 2.5 hours before it becomes skin-tight.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to our perfumery "SolisOcassum" for the bottling.

Very French flair with an elegant tangyness
I smell it, this French flair which some women/ladies/female beings have. Do you know that a woman passes by and I have to admit as a woman that she has class without envy? Not super beautiful but very attractive, not necessarily chic and dressed according to the latest fashion but is in a special way of careless and unwanted but self-evident elegance, the hair a trace too wild and daring but with every movement of the head you are fascinated. Then a fragrance hits me - it has gone further but I smell freshness, jasmine, rose and something very strangely interesting, maybe a hint of vanilla or what is it? Your secret ! Slightly warm and cool sexiness. This woman you like, who could be your good friend, has nothing conceited but a refreshingly happy laugh, but the eyes can also lure and make any man curious. I liked the fragrance directly, it lasts very long and has this familiar statement of a Chanel fragrance. Ladies try it and you'll understand what I mean.

Fresh orange-marine scent. A bit of bitter greens and white florals, but primarily smells like juicy oranges dashed with sea salt.

It’s nice, with how it smells. The performance is meh. Just not too much to get excited about with this one. Not terrible, just not a must h

Definitely more complex than the notes would lead you to believe. Vibrant and lively smelling citrus with a bit of woodiness to it.
