Great lemonade!
A pleasant surprise from Chanel (a house which can be hit or miss for me). It's by far my favorite from the Chance range. The lemon here is sunny, thanks to the aldehydes. Eau Fraiche is a lemonade with white flowers, served in glasses of teak, with one or two teaspoons of amber. On hot days, I almost feel like drinking it in big gulps. It projects and lasts much better than the other Chance EDTs.

Eau Verte e mai jucaus si vesel, pe cand Eau Fraiche, desi tanara, e imbracata in haine apretate si calcate si poarta parasol in drum spre biserica. Proiecteaza surprinzator de bine comparativ cu celelalte eaus de la Chanel.

16 years after the EDT, the EDP arrives / Is it better or worth the upgrade? / How is it received?
Hello everyone,

I got my hands on the fragrance through a decant, and since my wife and I are big fans of "Chance Eau Fraîche (Eau de Toilette) | Chanel," it was more or less a must to test the scent, and WE deliberately did not look at the notes and reviews beforehand - I find it "BETTER" to test a certain fragrance without any bias!

Both of us were surprised - why?

The EDT offers quite a few notes, and some of you may find it a bit herbaceous/bitter (very zesty citrus). The lemon here is softer and, in my opinion, less bitter than in the EDT. However, the EDP is very linear for about "1 hour," but this doesn't bother me at all! Gradually, the citrus direction shifts towards a jasmine note with a hint of the remaining lemon, and for 3 to 4 hours, the scent is very zesty, fresh, and clean, and less floral than it was in the EDT. After the mentioned 4 hours, a bit more woodiness comes in, becoming increasingly present.

As for the type of wood - whether cedar or teak, I curiously can't pinpoint it, but we really like it, and if I’m HONEST...

I would almost categorize the scent as unisex!

Regarding performance:

Yes, it is better, BUT really only in a subtle range of 1 to 2 hours more; generally, I always recommend using Molecule 01 as a "BOOSTER" for performance!

How is it received:

So far, at work and in private - excellent!

When can I recommend it?

From spring to autumn, it can be worn daily, regardless of age!

Can I recommend you buy it?

More yes than no - why?

Is it better than the EDT - yes!
Is it soooo much better - no!
If you already have the EDT, do you need the EDP - probably not!

And yet we will get it soon - why?

On one hand, my wife's EDT is running low, and on the other hand, I am a fan of quality and noticeable high value + execution, and with an XXL bottle, you have a lot of fun for a long time!

Get a decant like I did and test it.

If I really weren't convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!

And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny

EdP vs EdT
Nowadays, many fragrance houses in the mid to high price range tend to follow a well-received perfume with flankers, as is the case with Chanel.
Either they differ in concentration or they create changes to the original version while maintaining the core theme, sometimes with hints of another fragrance genre.

We fragrance lovers here are certainly interested in finding out whether the new one is really that different from the old one, in what ways, and: is it worth acquiring?
We make that last decision when testing. Personally, I always find the impressions of my fellow perfume enthusiasts here at Parfumo interesting before I get the scent under my nose.

The EdT version seems to be more complexly structured according to the listed fragrance notes in the pyramid. It is a herb-fresh-citrusy-floral-woody scent for the warmer season.
The same goes for the new EdP sister.

The EdT starts with a very herbaceous citrus kick that is certainly intensified by the cedar listed in the top notes. (I could never name that without knowing the fragrance pyramid).

The EdP starts citrusy, almost exclusively citrusy, without being herbaceous at first.

Very quickly, the flowers and woods of the base come into play in both versions.

The theme of the heart notes is equally jasmine in both. In my impression, it is the focal point of both sisters; however, it is a bit fresher and brighter in the EdT, which is surely achieved through water hyacinth and pepper.
In the EdP, the jasmine is soft-indolic - not as bright, but also not heavy.
The wood notes of the base are similar, with the EdP having a stronger amber impression, while the EdT seems a tad more powdery due to iris and musk.

The EdP feels overall softer and woodier, which might appeal more to those who find the herbaceousness of the EdT too much.
In the EdT, the herbaceous impression remains until the end.
When I smell both versions not in parallel, but with a certain time gap in between, I immediately recognize the strong similarity.
Nevertheless, there are typically very fine differences characteristic of Chanel. Some voices in the forums claim that the EdP is actually a completely different scent.

For me, the longevity is equally good for both, and the EdP also suits hot days.

EdT>>>>EdP
I had hoped for a more refined and longer-lasting version of the EdT with this fragrance. With high expectations, I tested the perfume on my skin and definitely detected a clear lemon in the first few minutes, but unfortunately also got strong vibes of bathroom cleaner! Normally, I am not sensitive in this regard at all, and since I am such a big fan of the EdT, the EdP would have almost been a blind buy for me. Lucky me! Don't get me wrong, it is certainly not a bad fragrance, and probably because it comes as a "rounded version" of the EdT, it meets the expectations of most! For me, however, the absence of the bitter freshness of its predecessor unfortunately also means the loss of that certain something and the sophistication that I expect and am used to from Chanel fragrances. The updated version shows very little character to me and is also hardly perceptible on the skin after a maximum of 4 hours. In summary, I miss the freshness and the wow factor, especially for the price. However, you can't go wrong with this fragrance, for example in the office, and it definitely doesn't offend. Unfortunately, I cannot share the purchase recommendation and enthusiasm of my fellow commentators!

Beautiful Replenishment
Since it has been so hot, I finally took out my Chance Eau Fraiche EdT again.
A lucky find, as it is wonderfully refreshing in this heat.
Even my scent-sensitive husband has no objections.
But now the bottle was running low.
I mentioned this to my husband, and today the postman rang the bell and brought me a 100ml Chance Eau Fraiche EdP.
My husband acted promptly.
What a beautiful replenishment!
The EdP is very similar to the EdT.
It is also refreshing with a delicate elegant note.
The Chanel vibes are clearly recognizable.
However, the EdP is a bit sweeter than the EdT, which I personally like.
Additionally, it lasts longer.
That's good too.
I think it would still pass as unisex with a slight tendency towards the feminine.
A good summer companion.

Similar to the EDT but deeper + woodier. Slightly less citrus-fresh + a little soapy. Not as green but performs a bit better.

Fresh. My favorite of the current Chance line but gosh, it's faint and gone in less than 2 hours.

Very unisex, bright and fresh. Has that classic Chanel perfume vibe to it. Definitely an underrated gem from the Chance line.

Like the EdT, it has an amazingly beautiful & long-lasting citrus freshness without any scratch. Floral-elegant, perfect for daily wear.

So conventional, without a spark of innovation. Fruity-fresh, but no radiance, the weakest chance ever. Quo vadis, Chanel?

Do I have a different scent than the rest here? Lasts forever, wonderfully elegant without being sweetly feminine. A hint of green, creamy. I love it.

Chanel has given the popular predecessor
a bit more longevity.
Citrusy, ambered with a warm woody touch.

For me, it's too weak, too sweet, and unfortunately not very refreshing. It gets better if you spray it often.
