Cat People
Kashmir Musk reminds me of the old horror film "Cat People": the main character, an attractive young woman, occasionally transforms into a beautiful yet dangerous panther. This play of eroticism, beauty, big cats, and danger is also embodied in Kashmir Musk for me. It starts with the bottle. Dark, mysterious, graceful. Without any trace of playfulness. Only for adults.
When I first sniff it, I already notice something animalistic, but it still exudes a sense of lethargy. With the first spray, a sharp hiss emerges. I suspect that pepper and ginger are responsible for these sharp and extremely unforgiving notes. After a short time, the big cat calms down, or rather the fragrance does, without ever really becoming calm. The lethargy perceived in the bottle pushes itself back to the forefront, yet there remains a growl deep from the throat. The black paw twitches. This scent always remains a bit unruly, never tamed.
I confess, the panther caught me completely off guard at first. I had imagined Kashmir Musk to be a spicy yet soft musk fragrance. And yet - it has something about it that attracts me. It often makes me pick up the bottle. Should I or shouldn’t I? Once you let it loose, you have to be able to endure its company for several hours. I absolutely limit myself to the evening. And for now, I am content with a minimal dose. In conclusion, I would like to say that in the film mentioned at the beginning, there are not only female Cat People - and I find the fragrance absolutely unisex.
