A cherry and pepper dream
Nah, guys. I really had to write a review now because Carmina has become my absolute favorite fragrance. Of all the perfumes (including other well-known and expensive brands), it's the only one that still leaves a distinct scent trail on the paper since the day before yesterday. Even my fingers smelled of Carmina today after I picked up the paper strip again to enjoy the scent. A dream composition, consisting of cherry through and through, together with pepper and rose, as well as a little sweetness (just right). I am head over heels in love! H/S is really good at this very special fragrance ️

Lashes from a cherry
In fact, I have to retract my statement from a month ago with a sobering 6.5 in "fragrance". As I wrote at the time, I only smelled the fragrance on a test strip, but I find it unfair to write off a fragrance without testing it extensively. That's why I have to write a review.
I had a lot of time to test several fragrances in a perfumery today.
Carmina is already very striking in its presentation on the shelf. A beautiful, red bottle with a high-quality metal cap in gold.
As I knew the fragrance from the test strip and found it pungent at the time, I didn't pay any further attention to it at first.
When I was finished and still had one arm free for testing, I gave myself a push to give Carmina a chance.

The fragrance: As other perfumistas have already confirmed, Carmina starts on the skin with a good burst of cherries and pepper. The pepper makes the fragrance a little scratchy at first. In combination with the cherry, it creates an unusual, fruity spiciness. It takes some getting used to but it's not bad. This impression remains for 1-2 hours at first.
As the fragrance develops, however, it becomes more pleasantly ambery and very fine, soft flowers join in. A beautiful, partly synthetic rose takes on the leading role. And yes, even a synthetic-smelling rose can be beautiful when supported by other flowers and accords.
I would even go so far as to say that I find this rose more beautiful than the one from MFK.

Longevity: I gave the fragrance a 7. When awarding longevity, I generally give fragrances that stay on my skin for more than 4 hours a 5. To get a 10, the fragrance must suffocate the room. It must be difficult to wash off.
Carmina is still clearly perceptible on my arm after 8 hours.

Sillage: Carmina starts loud and stays that way for about 4 hours. I put 4 sprays on my arm and noticed it during normal activities such as running, steering, etc. You definitely leave a little cloud behind if you don't dose sparingly.

I actually think that Carmina is a successful and modern fragrance from Creed.
I classify the fragrance as unisex, especially because of the dry-down after you have survived the cherry whip. Those who like it fruity, floral/soft might like Carmina.

Rose bed
I get here only at the very beginning the cherry and spice,
after that it is for me a flower bed full of beautiful red roses.
For me, a very pleasant floral fragrance not too intrusive but it is perceived.
I would have actually liked something more cherry, because there are already similar good rose-musk fragrances.

Starts strikingly and ends very gently
The first thing I associated with this fragrance is an Asia store. Because I remember once to have smelled the incense sticks smell almost the same.

The first thing I smell right after spraying on is a very dark cherry or cherry liqueur. After that I perceive the incense and a strong spice.
After some time, the scent becomes sweeter and no longer smells like cherry liqueur but reminds me of incense sticks with rose smell and rose shower gel.

The scent reminds me ONLY at the beginning of Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry and Zara Cherry Smoothie. But rather Zara's Cherry Smoothie, only Carmina is not as monotonous as the cheap Zara fragrance. Carmina doesn't smell synthetic to me like Cherry Smoothie. Carmina is smooth and not pungent. With Cherry Smoothie from Zara, you constantly smell something synthetic which is not the case with Carmina.
Carmina does get sweeter at some point though and turns into a very soft rose musk scent at the end. For me, this fragrance starts striking and strong and ends after a short time very elegant with a cuddly soft rose.

The sillage is weak in my opinion, which is why I would not buy this fragrance.

Risk-averse rose power
If you were to ask me "who would like this fragrance?", the answer would be simple: "Someone who likes Aventus for her, plus strongly scented roses in the color of the bottle, and a lot of both for a long time, will be happy with Carmina."

For me, the DNA is clearly based on Aventus for her, very clearly. It worked before, so why not do it again? Yes, you can do it. The spicy, peppery flavor with less fruit... In addition, they have chosen a main player that will definitely find a large group of fans: Roses.

I might catch a glimpse of cherries for a few seconds and with a lot of imagination, of saffron or myrrh and the like - erm, no. I was seriously surprised by some of the listed fragrances.

The fragrance itself is solidly crafted, and I find it positive, for example, that despite the powerful presence of rose for me, nothing is scratchy or prickly, as rose tends to do for me very quickly. I don't find it too synthetic either. In this respect, a successful rose fragrance.

On a positive note - and this is what many people want these days - it also has a decent radiance and longevity. Not to say enormous. My rather fragrance-resistant husband noticed it repeatedly after one spray. But nothing more than "yes, quite good, so nice" came from his lips. And that's how I see it too. Quite good, but not very special, not very innovative, not very risk-taking, not very outstanding, as I expect from houses in the league and with the marketing at the moment.

The durability: 36 hours after application, an active day in between, showering still clearly perceptible from 20 cm away for me. For some, this is a compelling argument, and I think Creed has captured the spirit of the times here. And that is probably the most surprising thing for me with this Creed - for me, Creeds are not necessarily synonymous with longevity and, with a normal dosage, not with enormous sillage either.

So is Carmina a crowdpleaser? I would say, based on the "key data" it has the potential to be, yes.

But for me it's too much overall, and at the same time too little, hmm, surprisingly, because it stays too much on the safe side.

Starts with cherry lollipop + fresh, spicy rose. Evolves creamy and ends darker thanks to incense. Smell is beautiful; price/value mediocre.

Opens fresh rose w/ powdered cherry flank like Gritti's Duchessa. Lacks sweetness, has a poor synthetic base in drydown (Mancera-esque).
