Beautiful tuberose
Despite being part of the Acqua Originale line, I find the strength and sillage on par with the standard line. On my skin it isn't sheer or thin - it starts with a short-lived strong fresh galbanum-iris then settles quickly into a beautiful creamy tuberose with just enough creamy but not overly sweet vanilla; just enough to keep the tuberose from becoming 'meaty' or overly buttery. Has the expected Creed quality (though I can't speak to the newest releases, I prefer the classic scents): I opened the box and once you smell it you just know. The green touches remain in the background so I wouldn't say it devolves into a total soliflore - more along the lines of the smooth creamy-green tuberose that Floris Tuberose in Silk is. It isn't a monster like some tuberose scents, but has more than discreet sillage and excellent longevity and fade-out. One of those perfumes that you faintly catch on your skin the morning after and think, I still smell fantastic. Creed pricing is ... healthy, let's say. Whilst I probably would spring full retail for another bottle, I was very lucky in finding a new sealed/packaged bottle (I have the newer purple gradient bottle) on Ebay for a stellar price.

Fire Under the Roof
When I read Acqua Originale, I expected an aquatic, cologne-like scent - but my sales associate cautioned me to be careful with the dosage.

And indeed, just one spritz made my hair sway.

I haven't encountered such an intense tuberose, fueled by orange, in a long time!
The lily of the valley and the lily swirl and rush around me fresh as in a spring storm.
Yet despite its intensity, the scent remains bright and strangely transparent, so the fullness doesn't weigh it down.
The delicate vanilla has a softening effect.

The fragrance is like a brightly burning flame that gradually fades away.

I am very taken with its clarity and recommend it to a friend, who immediately goes to purchase it.
He is thrilled.

I have to rein in my enthusiasm, as the Christmas fund needs to be strengthened first.

But I won't forget this floral storm anytime soon.

Good vs Evil
A disappointment with Asian Green Tea, a revelation with Geranium Vetiver - I was curious where the definitely most feminine fragrance of the new Acqua Originales, Iris Tuberose, would fit in.

But first, I was surprised that this is supposed to be the only fragrance in the world with these 2 flowers in the name - I could have sworn I had read about this combination in fragrance pyramids and smelled it in perfumes so many times that it couldn't be true - but our now almost omniscient database does not lie ;-) Moreover, there was excitement because I love Iris, but I mildly detest Tuberose, so a combination of both is like the battle of my fragrance titans, Good vs Evil. Unfortunately, in this case, the little devil Tuberose wins and makes the fragrance unbearable for me, let alone wearable, leaving the little angel Iris with no chance. Grrr how I hate you Tuberose...

Since the fragrance is not only super simple but also shockingly linear, I will keep my description brief. For 85% of the time, a airy Tuberose note dominates, which feels like anti-aspirin to me. Like a Bond No.9 Fire Island in a bad, simple, loud, annoying version. White flowers everywhere you look, and perhaps even a brighter ozone note that almost overshadows the fragrance with light and strength. And for a beach scent, it lacks that final kick - whether it would have been sand, salt, or sunscreen. So it is just a floral power and, if anything, more green than summery-sandy. Here, ladies first without exception - but I warned you!

Bottle: simple and pure, I suppose that was the intention.
Sillage: to me, Tuberose always seems more forced and annoying than it actually is.
Longevity: my fragrance nerves were strained for 5-6 hours.

I even briefly considered not commenting on this despite the test, as my initial test would not be very meaningful and rather off-putting - or if at all, only for perfume lovers like me who do not like Tuberose and other light flowers. Fans of the mentioned direction can surely raise the rating by 20-30%. Although I believe that even those, or especially those who know many Tuberoses, will find this a bit too dull and lacking... but I am curious about further opinions. For me, however, definitely the weakest Acqua Originale, though here it is with a warning and not with disappointment like with the Asian Green Tea.

Fresh, green tuberose and sunny O-flower are the opulent stars here. Add a bit of violet powder + vanilla musk fluff. Stunning at the start.

Please rename it to "Tubereuse Tubereuse" with even more tuberose. An extreme tuberose bomb, everything else gets completely overshadowed - only for fans.

The tuberose Big Bang is shocking at first, then comes a green-powdery gum. I find the mix of tuberose & iris interesting. A scent that stands out!

Here, the lily is overwhelmed by tuberoses. I quite like that scent, but not as a perfume. That would be too much for me.

Man, who spit gum on the sheets? How do I get it out now? I’ll try rubbing some herbs on it.

Fresh, green (not too extreme), rather feminine and pleasant for me. Reminds me a bit of Chanel No. 19, but much better. As an acqua, it lasts normally!

Very beautiful light tuberose scent, initially even slightly green with quite decent longevity.

You want tuberose? You get tuberose! After a very brief green-herb start, tuberose takes over completely. Iris is nowhere to be found.

Like "Nuit de Tubéreuse", I don't like this one either. Dry, unsweet tuberose, too harsh for me. It even smells green.

Unpretentious, easy-going, floral-sparkling summer splash. Not to be taken too seriously. Perfect for vacation!
