Looking for the opposite of "unique"?

It says "rasberry and galbanum" in the pyramide and in the brochure I was handed together with my sample. I cannot detect any galbanum at all. (It is one of my favourite notes). I read phrases like "absolutely unique", "totally irresistible", "playful and spontanous". The ads are just as boring as the fragrances. In "My NY" I smell some artificial flowers. An imitation of jasmine seems trendy, notably from Egypt, orris root is mentioned, because it stands for high quality, but I can't smell it in this scent.
If this nondescript chemical soup passes as "unique", McDonald's chicken-burger is "haute cuisine".

Diet Flowerbomb?

To me, this sort of smells like a "Diet Flowerbomb", but with more fruit. It's a very similar patchouli to Flowerbomb and La Vie Est Belle, but it lacks the overpowering strength (Which, in my opinion is a good thing, since despite liking those scents, I can never wear them without hurting my head!) There's also a little something strange or tangy in this one, that I can't quite pinpoint, perhaps it's the pink pepper. It makes it unique among other fragrances in this class, and gives it a bit of a kick.

Raspberry is Overwhelmed by Galbanum

This was one of my beginning fragrances whenever I worked at a Smoothie King near Marshall's. When I first got this, my nose only identified the top notes and I fell in love with the sweet burst of rasberry, pink pepper, and the patchouli peeking out when sprayed.

However, I soon started to smell this bitterness a few minutes after I sprayed the perfume. It took me weeks to finally figure out exactly what that bitter, biting smell was.
Galbanum.
Now that my nose is developing, I have learned that either Galbanum comes off very stinky and bitter to my nose, or my skin chemistry does NOT like it. This perfume would be lovely without it, but the Galbanum is overpowering the lovely jasmine, freesia, and orris root middle notes.

On first spray this perfume smells quite nice and it seems very safe. The raspberry and pink pepper work well together. But once those top notes wear off, all I get is stinky, rotting, bitter flowers. It's a no for me.

If you like Galbanum and it works well with your skin chemistry, this might be for you! Don't be afraid to try things! Unfortunately, for me personally, this perfume doesn't want to be friends

hot raspberries with a following cigarette

Today I discovered My NY by Donna Karan at a reduced price.

My bargain-hunting heart skipped a beat.
But I remembered the rather "reserved" comments here in the forum.
I almost skipped the test spray - but the pretty heart bottle captivated me.

And by a stroke of luck - I was wooed by full, juicy raspberries, spiced with red pepper.
Above this hovers something smoky - perhaps incense?
Ah - this fragrance blend reminds me of hot, peppered raspberry dessert, with two scoops of vanilla ice cream.
Afterwards, the delicious "nightcap cigarette".
Noble floral notes also come in the form of white jasmine and yellow freesia.
The more bitter iris root gently softens the scent, giving it depth and recognizability.

I find this combination of flowers, smoke, and soft gourmand notes extremely attractive.

I will treat myself to exactly this delicious raspberry dessert tomorrow - with the obligatory cigarette afterwards.

Dkny - Incompatible?

I don't really want to rate this fragrance because I don't want to do it any injustice. Perhaps the relationship between my skin chemistry and this little potion is simply an olfactory story doomed to fail.
The fragrance pyramid sounded great... I love raspberry and also subtle vanilla. This led me to make a blind purchase.
I was thrilled when the postman arrived and happily sprayed it on.
Then came a rather traumatic experience for my nose. What wafted towards me was simply a plantation of pink pepper, with unidentifiable plant growth sprawling in between.
Okay, I thought, let's give it a little time. I still hoped for raspberries... or at least vanilla.
Eventually, only water and soap saved me, along with a generous spray of my favorite YSL to apologize to my nose.
I envy my previous reviewers for their successful love story.

So: This is not a review but a piece of advice. Better to test it first before buying.

The first minutes are floral with hints of Cool Water Woman. Then it gets spicy and a bit fruity. The dry down is close to the skin after about 5 hours. Delicious!
