freshly mowed grass meets toilet block
I'm sorry. I feel sorry for this scent and the beautiful reviews beforehand. I gave it a lot of time. On the first day, it was definitely my fault because I sprayed way too much of it. That's when toilet block met freshly mowed grass. The next day, I was warned and applied only a little. I really wanted to like this scent. But unfortunately, only the balance changed. More freshly mowed grass, but still toilet block, and both linger on me for 4 hours without any change. I would love to smell the foliage mentioned in a comment, the natural earth scent, even the compost heap if necessary ;) Unfortunately, it just won't develop on my skin. Now the poor little water has to exist as a room spray for me.
Firefly, you should better fly away

Lying in the grass, with my nose down and my head next to the compost...
Outrageous! What kind of aroma is this?!

If I were to start nicely, I could praise "Firefly" for the fact that it has obviously succeeded in capturing the above-described scenario in a scent.

There’s fresh grass, clayey garden soil, a compost heap in the process of fermentation, nuances of damp hay...

So, I want to attribute 100% naturalness and authenticity to the fragrance.

Now I come to the but:

How on earth would I ever come up with the completely absurd idea of spraying something on my skin that smells exactly like I’ve been digging up my garden for hours, kneeling in the soil, with green grass stains and earth on my knees?!

Don’t get me wrong: I love nature and all the above scents - but let my garden smell like that, not me!

In that respect - completely absurd and unbearable.

Soil Life
When I researched what Firefly is supposed to smell like yesterday, I was skeptical. Another one of those far-out scents? One that is supposed to smell like something specific. Big promises and then something strange to disgusting.
First, I had a rather unremarkable nice fruity scent to test on my left wrist, and then on the right, I sprayed Firefly, half an hour apart.
And then something like this: earth, mossy, decaying leaves in their most beautiful scent when spring finally arrives, a distinct mushroom smell, as if a mycelium is venting, which will later push up the fruiting bodies: the mushrooms we see and might collect.
Warm earth, moss, active soil bacteria that create the typical damp forest floor scent. Decaying wood, moist and also exuding the decomposing mushrooms. It often smells like this from the opposite bank, about 10 meters away from the small island in the old river valley bed with its swiftly flowing stream. The trees smell bitter and herbal. Especially in the early morning, it smells like this, less so in the evening; at least here, I enjoy this after getting up in the morning on the terrace, my cat in my arms, and we sniff: How does it smell this morning? I never wear perfume for this reason. Because I want to perceive this scent, as it has been very authentically recreated in Firefly.
Moreover, after a while, Firefly smells like it does here by the rushing stream right under our apartment in the morning when I open the window: a bit of ozone and Ambroxan.
After this discovery, I first went to the sink: off with the fruity scent. Odorless cream on the skin and also on the other wrist and the backs of my hands, I applied Firefly. It remains the same. Forest floor, forest scent, living and dead wood is perceptible, leaf scent, water scent.
This interplay of forest earth with ozone-water-Ambroxan lasts over 2 hours, and gradually a beautiful green scent emerges from the ground plants in the forest, the hard round grasses and the leaves of birches, beeches, somewhat bitter and strict; fern scent is also noticeable. A hint of sweetness is present too: flowers of lingonberries or moss berries? Yes, they smell somewhat like that. At least that could be what is meant. They don't grow here; it's too far south for that.
Something new is emerging, spicy-sharp. A hint of mint, very subtle yet distinct. After 4 hours, the forest floor scent has faded but still comes through gently. Firefly becomes somewhat powdery, although the slightly bitter herbal scent remains, and Ambroxan becomes even more enticing.
Fresh night air? I was just outside; the starry sky is truly impressive today; you can see the glittering star cluster of Virgo through binoculars. But it doesn't smell like Firefly. It smells like cold.
Unimportant! Someone else might perceive it just like fresh night air.
A perfume experience that is quite peculiar and special. I am delighted.
I should always have the vial with me whenever one suffers from musty everyday scents. But will it have that effect?
It is a delicate scent. Would I want to wear it on some occasion? Perhaps in winter as a sleep scent, as a promise that spring will surely come again.

Most Beautiful Scent from Demeter?
I believe Firefly is one of the most successful creations from Demeter.
Firefly is meant to convey the twilight of spring.
What I smell are fine grassy notes, a few subtle flowers, delicate earthy tones, and the scent of fresh night air. The perfume creates exactly the promised atmosphere.

A walk through the cemetery at night. Barefoot. Alone. The earth is cool and damp. The flowers look pale gray. I really like it.

Smells like grass. Not the kind that makes you laugh and giggle, but the grass that gets mowed and lies on dog poop.

Earth and juicy grass at the beginning, and a rather old-school scent towards the end. Really interesting, although unfortunately a bit short-lived.

Warming earth, moss, active soil bacteria, typical damp forest floor scent, fungal mycelium - modern wood, moist, exuding decomposing fungi, light flowers.
