Meanwhile, Back at the Ice Cream Palour...
I have a jar which holds the most delicious, luscious decadent light green hand cream I've ever purchased. It is Laura Mercier's Crème de Pistache and when I open this jar- usually during the Winter Months inhale deeply and my mouth waters. Logically, I know this is not edible, but my nose sends that "yummy alert" message. The second inhalation is still pleasing, yet perhaps a little voice starts to say "Whoa...ease up on that for a second". The third inhalation is typically the last and that point my nose has sent the follow-up message "Sorry folks...false alarm- not pistachio ice cream." Several times I have exuberantly slathered this crème on my freshly showered warm skin thinking, "Oh, who will possibly be able to resist? Some one will surely gobble me up before dawn, but it will be worth it!" only to run back to the shower within two hour for a complete redo... always annoyed with myself for putting on that incessant nutty cherry smell; delectable at first and then relentlessly gourmand and trite. Well, I also tried to purchase the matching eau de parfum from Laura M. for layering years ago and returned it as it was not a match at all for the cream and also was putrid. For years I thought wistfully, if I can just get the layering correct and go all in- this will be the most unusual and memorable winter scent ever. I have now concluded that the whole concept of smelling like pistachio ice cream is a daunting task, best left for Sugar Plum Fairies and Santa's Elves, however, if you find the need and you want to go right for the spot-on olfactory memory of a big green cream scoop of nutty Amaretto cherry and crunchy pistachio heaven, this will do the job nicely. As with most Demeter single note scents, longevity is poor but the initial silage and realism of the scent will blow your mind!

Super sweet pistachio cream
I'm usually not particularly interested in solinote fragrances, but pistachio is one of the notes I can't get enough of, so I was happy to try this. And it's really good, provided you like pistachio and can live with the fact that it's a really simple scent! Just like a good pistachio ice cream, this is sweet, nutty, milky-creamy and a tiny bit roasty. Unlike some other pistachio scents, I don't get even the slightest hint of salted pistachios, this one is just sweet. Because of that, it also showcases how similar pistachio and almond can be. I usually perceive pistachios as a bit more savory than almonds, so when they're done like this, the difference gets smaller.

I'm not 100% convinced that this smells like ice cream though, as I do not get any kind of cooling sensation here. Maybe it's more like a pistachio mousse or cream or something like that, but pistachio ice cream is more popular and iconic, so it makes sense that it was the inspiration for a Library of Fragrance scent.

This stays basically the same for the whole duration of the scent - as it should.

A cute little perfume that exceeded my expectations. And the price is right, too.

A lick of something?! :D
Hey guys, welcome to a new comment from me! I'm coming back today to a Demeter Fragrance Library comment, a fragrance series that actually makes more fragrances about all kinds of things or after all kinds of things instead of creating real perfumes, but some of them can actually be worn as perfume.

So it is, as the name suggests, a fragrance library, which also includes less successful fragrances, because these fragrances also smell horrible or at least unpleasant in reality and are therefore only suitable for sadists who want to harm their environment :D
"Tarnish" is one of those scents I found most horrible from Demeter, who also had the habit of not wanting to leave after washing his arm several times. Other such strong scents were "Tomato Seed" (although it sounds interesting and tomatoes and tomato leaves usually smell great) or "Lobster", uuuuh... most of the scents are okay or at least in the middle of the range, so that they are interesting for lovers of certain scents.

But now here comes a fragrance which, just by its name, makes your mouth water, even if it sounds really disgusting and you should not run around drooling, especially in Corona times (even if everything has been loosened now, it doesn't mean that Corona is automatically gone... so still take care of yourself, guys!) :D

I'm talking about "Pistachio Ice Cream", which is one of my absolute favorites and I could stuff myself with it, which I do from time to time, especially on hot days like the ones we have right now. The great thing about pistachios is that they not only taste great but also smell good. So let's see how Demeter hit the scent (since they make everything purely synthetic).

The smell:
Ah, the smell is nutty from the start. Although a chemical note appears for a minimal second, it disappears again immediately after spraying. The nutty scent reminds me at first of a hazelnut, but then it immediately becomes sweeter and... uh,... pistachio? Anyway, what I want to say is that the pistachio scent, or rather the sweet ice cream version of the pistachio has been hit really well and this smells quite authentic. All that's missing now is a slightly cool haze that rises or that you notice when you smell your ice cream. Without this coolness, the scent on the skin looks a little drier but still smells great and, as said before, pretty much like pistachio ice cream.
And there's nothing more to say, because it doesn't smell like more either! A nice smell :)

The Sillage and the durability:
The Sillage is quite okay, especially in the beginning he still radiates well, but he loses power quickly, so that he is more smellable most of the time. The shelf life is a few hours, which is okay for this kind of scent.

The bottle! Hm, for years I've been complaining about the ugly bottles of Demeter and... nothing has changed until today :D Sure, Demeter has hundreds of fragrances, so they can't create a bottle for every fragrance, so the bottles are just a means to an end, pure storage objects, but still I find them too simple and unattractive. This one is also rectangular with an overloaded and more than ugly label, on which you can see a pistachio ice-green stripe with the name of the fragrance on it :)

Conclusion:
Aaaah, the smell here is wonderful. Top, just delicious, really lickable. And yes, I mean that the smell is really lickable! If I should write here that you ladies are lickable,... then my account here will be closed for sure and you will hunt me down or something! :DDD

In any case, this scent is one of the really well-done Demeter scents, which is even good to wear on warm days (but it should also go well in autumn), preferably during leisure time during the day. The sweetishly pleasant scent actually also invites you to use it for going out, but its sillage and durability are too weak or low for that. But maybe it is possible to reapply it from time to time?

In any case, everyone who likes ice cream, especially pistachio ice cream of course, should try the scent. It is very pleasant to spray it on oneself from time to time, just for fun, when sitting at the computer, working, doing housework or whatever else... so that one has a nice, tasty scent around. But be careful: It is one of those scents that can cause ravenous appetite :D

Well, that's it, then. Enjoy the warm weather, but don't be stupid and behave decently and reasonably, otherwise we'll really mess things up here in Germany if the infections should rise again mainly due to ignorance, stupidity and even more stupidity. If everyone is reasonable, then we can all enjoy the summer more easily and especially outside more often... ICE! Well, if that's not a reason to get through the miserable crisis together, huh? D

Well then, have a nice evening and see you later :)

Bull's-eye!
Finally, a blind purchase that's exactly what I expected. Since my beloved Pistachio Ganache from Payard is no longer around, I became curious about Taika's commi and ordered this. I didn't know the Macaron Pistache she mentioned, but it also seems to have disappeared from the market. Since the fragrance was not too expensive, I ordered it promptly and was not disappointed. He really smells like pistachio ganache to me. In order to be able to make exact comparisons, I would have to have remainders of the Payrad in stock, but unfortunately this is no longer the case. I think he's a little boozy, too. I like it a lot. Certainly not a famous composition with elaborate notes and of course an absolute leisure scent, as it authentically smells like ice cream, but if you're looking for something like this, you'll find it here. If there are other lovers of Pistachio Ganache besides me, who mourn the little water, be sure to test this one :)

Many promise it, this one keeps it
Pistachio ice cream, the green temptation of summer. Hardly any other type of ice cream is, according to my feeling, so often tried to banish in a bottle. Many have tried, Kyali, Dua, Sphinx ... but so far no one has made it for me as close to the pistachio ice cream as Demeter.

There is the pistachio, but also milk and the creaminess of milk ice cream, which I have missed with many others. In addition, here is actually this typical, yes artificial, scent of pistachio aroma is captured, but that is just what conventional pistachio ice cream smells like. Other perfumes are more oriented towards the actual nut, which can also smell nice, but just not like the common pistachio ice cream from the nearest beach shack. Most pistachio ice cream, which you can buy so conventionally, has never seen or very little of the real nut and owes its taste flavors. Can you keep from what you want, but if you are looking for exactly this smell, Demeter meets this for me best.
And the ice cream also has a few pieces of pistachio brittle and the wafer I can also imagine without problems to it, because the distinctive pistachio, just in the later course of something "dough-roasted" is accompanied. Her you get so the full package: a pistachio ice cream in the wafer with brittle.

A bit of a shame is the shelf life, which is with about 4 hours in total but also for the price a little tight, as I find.
