Banana Joe,… no Banana Cinnamon!
Banana! I love bananas, they are one of my absolute favorite fruits because they taste so good. Well, I have never had flambéed bananas, but I was looking forward to this scent because I thought I would be able to smell a great banana. That is true, but then the fragrance develops a bit further. And how, you will find out right now!
The scent:
After a very brief, alcoholic note, you can strongly smell both the pleasant banana and the sweet cinnamon. It’s quite strange, as for a moment it smells like chocolate bananas, but then the cinnamon scent becomes stronger. The strong cinnamon also starts to smell somewhat like cookies, and the vanilla note gives the impression that it’s something like cookies with banana cream filling. Unfortunately, the banana scent fades a bit too quickly. Whether all this smells like flambéed bananas, I cannot say, but in the end, you really only smell the cinnamon, which later becomes a bit more vanilla-like.
The longevity is okay, it lasts about three hours, maybe a bit more on the skin.
The sillage is typical for Demeter, average. Strong at first, it becomes weaker with the cinnamon.
The bottle is small, rectangular, and topped with a tall cap. Even though it doesn’t look particularly special, it serves its purpose as a container perfectly well; I think I have come to terms with that, but the bottle still doesn’t have to please me ;-)
From the label, it seems there are two versions. One is the generally known, boring label, which only has the name of the fragrance on it.
The second is pale yellow and shows three silhouette-like kitchen utensils next to the name. The second one obviously looks better and more attractive!
I don’t know. I was actually looking forward to this scent; it was even on my watchlist for a while. Because I like the banana scent, just as I like the fruits. But this scent simulates flambéed bananas, so you only smell the fruit for a very short time. After that, it’s a rather spicy-sweet fragrance. Not bad, but also not particularly outstanding.
You can test it, but it’s not a must.
