No no no!
One of the WORST SMELLS EVER! This the carnation garbage. Dusty, heavy, breath blocking. Dont recommend to anyone. Even try. No no no no. Bad longevity luckily, minutes. My sister has it, she didnt use any time and she doesnt give anyone or sell it. Dusty carnation, chrysanthemum nightmare scent.

Feelings that people with depression suffer
this original text is written by me (Chinese pipoooo)in Chinese and published on domestic platforms (xiaohongshu)in China. The following is the English version by my translator:

Cold. Desolate. Devoid of life.
Gloom, sorrow, even the ache of farewell.

This scent embodies depression.
In my earlier essay on fragrances mirroring mental states,
I paired depression with Demeter’s "Funeral Home".

Why "Funeral Home" fits depression:
Its scent is deathly still, desolate,
with piercing cloying florals.
If it had a color, it would be gray.
Like stagnant water steeped with rotting carnations,
a tombstone cast in concrete.

Depression manifests as:
"Low Mood" – Pervasive despair, unshaken by circumstance
"Slowed Cognition" – Thoughts dragging through tar
"Deadened Will" – Even breath feels laborious
"Worthlessness" – "I am failure incarnate" "Helplessness" – "No one can save me"
"Hopelessness" – "The future is void"

Like this fragrance, it offers zero light.
Depression often carries self-harm impulses,
even suicidal urges – a longing for death.
This mirrors the perfume’s name: "Funeral Home".

On spraying:
• Surgical antiseptic stabs the nostrils
• Putrid florals choke the air
In that despair. What flows out is no longer blood, but corroded remnants of a soul.

(This critique focuses solely on scent artistry, nothing to do with the real situation!

In addition, what interesting is that the name of this perfume is translated as “call from heaven” on Chinese forums. It is a great translation which accurately and romantically describes this fragrance.

it's perfect. i'm obsessed. if you are a fan of spooky scents, don't even hesitate
this is straight up walking into a funeral parlor or one of those little shops by the cemetery.
it's a super photorealistic chrysanthemum together with a very well executed white lily, and i am also getting gerbera there, all of them with stems and leaves and everything.
it opens up with a weird, spooky, almost chemical smell - sort of like embalming fluid, a clean corpse in a casket, or maybe it's paraffin candles, or spools of cheap curling ribbons? it disappears in the drydown and changes the mood of this perfume, letting you know that the funeral's over, that the only thing you're left with now are the flower wreaths upon the mound of fresh dirt.
i'm also positively surprised with the wear time of this one (considering it's demeter), on my skin it stays for around 5-6 hours while on the clothes i can still catch it after 12.

(works great combined either with perles de lalique or myrrh & tonka - you either get a ghost on a frosty, foggy morning at the cemetery, or a vampire wrapped in a cashmere blanket, being all cozy in their old gothic mansion)

This scent does exactly what it's supposed to, at least for me: it does something to me - and surprisingly so. The scent catapults me into funeral homes, funerals, I feel surrounded by grave arrangements and it smells a bit like the compost heaps in the cemetery. Even though I've had the opportunity to smell things like this more than once, the smell doesn't make me sad or wistful, it makes me feel safe and it feels familiar. I'm just insanely surprised at how well this scent manages to do all of that. Wearable, Funeral Home is definitely wearable for me, but more so when I'm alone. Otherwise, I like to use it to just sniff it and take a little trip back in time.

Zombie light
That sounds pretty macabre
Just the fact that this scent is called "funeral parlor" is pretty morbid
My additional association with a zombie is not meant to put a crown on "bad taste", though.

I rather draw a - in my opinion - quite fitting comparison to the fragrance "Zombie for Him"
also available from The Library of Fragrance/Demeter
The scent DNA is almost the same.
You can now view it from both sides.
Either the mushroom and moss smell was taken away from "Funeral Home" or it was added to the zombie
However you turn it, both EDCs are not far away from each other.

My personal taste tends more towards the zombie, simply because the above mentioned aspects make it even more exciting and crazy.

Earth, floral water and a subtle woody note are the main actors here. The fragrance also leaves a minimal oil film on the skin. This makes it last for a while. 3-4 hours you can get there in any case.

You have to be made for this kind of fragrance. Most of them will turn up their nose not only because of the name.

Halloween is coming up, so that's pretty much a good fit.
Saturday we're going to the movies.
The zombie classic (and my all time favorite movie) "Dawn of the Dead" from 1978 is playing...

Guess what scent I'll be wearing ;)

Smells exactly like the cooler where my mom would keep the flowers at her flower shop... Crisp and cool but still very floral
