Daydream of a Love Trance
By far (lol, pun intended) one of the most interesting, commercial gourmands on the market, I’m surprised that Daydream of a Love Trance isn’t spoken about more frequently. I feel like hazelnut is a vanilla-adjacent note, and yet, I can’t name another designer fragrance that heroes it out.
It seems all of BY FAR’s scents are quite linear and mild in sillage, but I don’t mind that. DoaLT is well-blended to the extent that I almost perceive it as a soli-note fragrance. Hazelnut is the star, for sure. But it pairs seamlessly with the white florals and ylang-ylang, their indolic qualities adding a “creamy” texture that mimics Nutella (or any hazelnut spread). Ylang-ylang can sometimes read a bit sharp and a bit banana-like to my nose, but that isn’t the case here.
While I’m more likely to wear Daydream of a Rose Garden in my day-to-day, I have to say that Love Trance is a contender for the most memorable of the BY FAR assortment and sample I’ve tried in recent time.
