What a horror. Not street, but gutter. Sticky, headache-inducing surrogate
Yes, if a fragrance scores below 5.0 points here, then I, who always seems to enjoy a reputation for being too strict, probably have something to rage about. :-)

Short and sweet - I already find the 'normal' Diesel punches terribly unpleasant and synthetic.

Here, they additionally work with sugar hot glue.
Artificially sweet apples, a bizarre licorice touch, somehow also cotton candy, paired with a bit of minerality.

Nothing harmonizes, nothing fits together. Gutter. Not street.

Hybrid between Madness and Genius
Dear perfume gourmands,
Dear readers,

this perfume named “Diesel - Only the brave street” was the catalyst for my first review. The scent of the perfume provided me with a curious experience and was breathtaking enough for me to share it here.

The first sniff of the perfume was a sharp: “Oh my God!” [in a negative sense]; the second was a “No! This must be a misunderstanding!”; until after further wafting, my primal flight instinct gained intensity. The smell of overly sweet vanilla will surely send any man’s nose running. It strongly reminds one of the classically disproportionate sweet scent of women who have over-sprayed themselves in a humid, cramped, summer-heated subway, additionally smelling of armpit sweat and daily grime.

After repeated associations, the perfume also strongly evokes memories of physical education class. More specifically, the moment when young guys in their sweaty jerseys desperately try to mask their enormous foot odor with cheap perfume. The combination of dirt, sweat, intensely sweet vanilla, hormones, and cheap perfume instantly transports one back to school days and successfully blocks the nose.

In other words, the perfume - seriously meant - is actually artistically valuable, in its own unique way. One of the English translations of the verb (and adjective) “brave” means in German “to endure something bravely.” The direct translation gains a completely new depth for me: An aura of “poor people’s scent”/ teenagers who have little money and muster the courage to do something about their body odor is unmistakably strong in the scent center.

The fragrance is only usable for a very small circle of users. In my opinion, it only unfolds its bouquet in combination with sour male sweat, foot odor, and an unwashed pair of sweatpants. Only then does it gain its wicked side. The fusion directly recalls the wild teenage years when one strolled into the youth center unshowered after gym class and wanted to chill on a shabby couch.

In its pure form, the perfume is definitely unbearable.

Therefore, the following rating:

a) Pure form: 0 points
b) Art form (with sour male sweat and foot odor): 10 points

(+) Result: 5 points

Sweet, Spicy Fist to the Face
Diesel only the brave street was my first real perfume. As a birthday gift from my big brother, it accompanied me for a long time. Through a relationship and until the breakup.
(Of course, not because of the scent ;) )
Now, a year later, I thought to myself at the early beginning of summer, "I'll wear it for fun today."
Done:
A strong spicy sweetness with a synthetic touch.
At first, it feels like just sticky sugar, but after a while, it develops a certain bitter note that lasts quite a long time.
All in all, I personally think that Diesel has done a good job here. It is a fairly affordable scent that you can actually wear for many occasions. Of course, not for very formal events. (Dates, walks, or other leisure activities).

Not Optimal but Not Bad Either
I think the scent is being portrayed a bit too negatively here and is definitely better than its reputation.
I received this fragrance as a gift and I'm using this as an opportunity for my first review.
As mentioned several times here, the synthetic-sweet top note is really not ideal and somewhat resembles a kind of bubblegum ice cream. The indicated freshness (bergamot, apple, basil) is overshadowed by the presence of licorice, creating a mixture that, in my opinion, takes some getting used to (which doesn't mean it's bad).
Now this licorice note remains and gradually blends with the sweet flavor of sandalwood and vanilla, resulting in a rounded, pleasant mixture.
And I think this base note is what truly defines the fragrance and why it is, in my opinion, unfairly criticized here. So it's better to try it yourself and form your own opinion.

Flattened Bird Berries on a Hot Tar Road...
This is how Only The Brave - Street smells to me. It is a sweeter and, in my opinion, "younger" version of the classic. I find the rating of 5.3/10 a bit harsh, as I consider the scent quite acceptable, even when compared to luxurious niche fragrances.
The perfume smells to me like the classic Only The Brave - DNA plus the note described in the title, which is why the "Street" in the name is definitely fitting.
Due to the licorice, Only The Brave Street smells to me like red berries that have been growing on the asphalt for a while, have already been run over by a tire or two, and are heating up in the sun together with the tar.
The name fits, and so does the scent. I would recommend it as a starter fragrance for teenagers to young adults.

Good freshie out the shower. Smells ok up close, but away from it at about 2-6ft has good scent trail. Not ground breaking, but very nice.

Oh my God... No, he can't help there either. What a chemical soup, bad canned fruit with rotten fish in between. Creepy.

The Diesel fist has struck again... I was knocked out in the first round (top note) - the synthetic hit me with full force.

Underselling yourself is also an art.
Rubber apples with licorice & a drop of synthetic vanilla.
Smells like Haribo Colorado.

Also sweet, yet more appealing to me than Only the Brave, a bit more balanced, with a slightly sour counterpoint - a fine contrast.

Haribo licorice snail :D
I do like licorice, it's easy to synthesize, but a 4.8 is too harsh,
even though it's hard to wear!
