As divine as a goddess tear
I never tested before this flanker although i've seen many time the advertisement on tv or on the magazines. I was a fan of the classic "J'adore" , but when i sprayed this one at the drugstore it was love at first sight and at first smell.
It's a true pleasure for your senses and you feel immediately the warm embrace of the Jasmine, the ylang and the sweet (but not intoxicating) vanilla. A perfect acchord with a few ingredients of very good quality.
It's the celebration of feminity and you really feel a goddess when you wear this scent which last for many hours without resulting too heavy. It's like a second , precious skin.
My compliments to the nose, because in these latest times we saw many expensive fragrances not at all longlasting or similar to cheap copies. If this time you must pay about 100euros for a big size, you'll have a very good and luxuous product to enjoy in your special occasions or also to keep and maybe make become a wonderful vintage.
Immediately added to my whishlist...never say never!

All that Glitter and all that Gold....
Have I ever imagined what it would be like to walk on clouds?
I have. Of course. Up there, it’s nice and warm. Not hot, no: pleasantly warm.
And sunny. And if I’m not careful, I slip into a white, soft cloud. (Blackbirds are chirping in the background)
I haven’t really fallen down yet.

On to the topic!

No, I didn’t know J'adore. Not at all. I once saw the advertisement where EVERYTHING was somehow made of gold. Shoes, dresses, even the water! Golden. Aha. Plus the lovely Ms. Theron, who made quite a nice impression in My Giant Friend Joe.

By chance, I came across a sharing, quickly read the praises here, and could still participate since the bottle is only available in quite a small size. Then it arrived. The Dschadohrlohr.
So, let’s test it. Sprayed a bit on my wrist to take a look.
What happened next is something that rarely happens to me - I was speechless and astonished.
Because I immediately heard Hallelujah and looked through the clouds from above, in the most golden sunlight I have ever smelled. Everything from the advertisement is true! That has never happened to me before.

The 5 (five) ingredients are quickly told, so I’ll spare you that. Because they are so merged together (golden!), that nothing stands out; the interplay is so perfect for me, as if the scent itself is the pyramid (if anyone understands that - congratulations!).

It’s a very bright (no, wrong word, bright sounds too shrill), a pleasantly warm scent that immediately evokes a feeling of coziness in me. I find it very hard to put into words. Basically, you really just need to watch the advertisement. (If you don’t like Charlize Theron, then maybe better not, unless you can separate that.)

What I want to say: warmth, coziness, energy.
That’s something different, but that’s exactly what J'adore L'or stands for me. Really, really great. Golden, truly!

The friendly, subtle soapiness reminds me of Amouage's Dia. But it’s quite different.
The light, charming floral notes (including soap) remind me of Roja’s Enigma. But here it’s quite different, somehow richer.
J'adore L'or plays in this league, but is uniquely different. Golden. Really!

I don’t want to skip a thank you here, so: Thank you to Charlottelo for the sharing and thank you to Channi for the tip about Pieper.

L'Or Vol. 2
I did a bit of browsing. Here’s an excerpt from my comment on L'Or 2010 from October 14, 2013.
It’s been quite a while, but...
Still 100% relevant and transferable to the newly interpreted L'Or.

Elegant
Feminine
Madam-like
Strong yet subtle
Luxury
Gold
Sea of flowers
Perfumed
Powder dream
Light oriental
Round!
Perfectly!!
Absolutely!!!

As my 2010 version approaches its bittersweet end and I fell victim to an unreasonable, acute shopping spree last week, which unfortunately clouded my mind and the accounting center of my brain, I am now the proud owner of Dior J'adore L'Or 2017.
And I am really proud :-)
Because as a perfume lover, one often acquires scents - some truly resonate, and you want to wear them all the time; others, however, are only used sporadically, and some are too fleeting and are worn very rarely.

With L'Or, however, you immediately feel that you are wearing a truly outstanding perfume - a perfume that envelops you in a luxurious cloud of flowers, powder, and subtle sweetness.
A scent for a grand appearance; and at the same time too precious to wear so rarely.
An overwhelming sillage and extremely good longevity give it the final touch.
L'Or is a very strong, expressive perfume that never crosses the line into being intrusive. 2 sprays are enough, and it gives the wearer a well-groomed, stylish aura.
It has the best effect in autumn and winter.

I can't recognize a significant difference from the 2010 version; Dior remains true to it and, if anything, adds a few fresh nuances.
Maybe I think this because I have read the comments and statements mentioning the freshness.

My conclusion:
An amazing, beautiful scent, warm, elegant, stylish, and simply perfect.
For me, the completely successful, newly interpreted version of one of the best perfumes ever.

Sometimes I just long for...

.... a longing for harmony, for indulgence, for sweet dreams. Sometimes I am tired of constantly committing to something or resisting something else. Sometimes I want things without edges and corners, without ulterior motives, without ifs and buts.
And so it happens that J‘Adore L’Or has found its way to me, even though it is so far from my usual fragrance taste. The golden love begins with a fruity-sweet fanfare, somewhat like a cross between orange and quince. Little citrus peel, much freshly squeezed juice of fully ripe, juicy fruits. The sweetness is the deep, heavy sweetness of exotic flowers, where you almost expect the sticky stamens to let nectar drip to the ground. No less impressive is what follows: a drumroll of jasmine and ylang, unabashed, rich, warm, and humid. The rose, equally present, counters with lush spice and delicate freshness. And so they fall, the countless petals, into a powdery bed of dark vanilla, which softly puffs up and envelops everything.
And yet, with all this abundance of flowers, sweetness, and almost shameless opulence that J’adore spreads before me, the scent always remains on the side of elegance and eroticism and does not drift into cheap glitter or open display.

A fragrance to let oneself go, to break the rules, to switch off thinking and just feel.
Simply perfect.

The Virgin Suicides: Is ‘TOO beautiful’ possible??
I ordered a bottle of this special fragrance blind - because I used to have J’adore EdP and liked it very much - and because of all the enthusiastic, almost overwhelming, fascinated comments.

Now I hardly know how to express myself. Yes, the perfume smells wonderful, really: like a little miracle. Perfectly composed, intense, yet delicate and soft like flower petals, unobtrusive and elegant, but always present, luxurious, seductive, extremely feminine, vanilla-sweet in the lightest, most exclusive way... Phew. With every hour it somehow gets even better. Wow. Everything flows, nothing jabs, bites, clouds, disturbs, or breaks through. Despite the relatively few components and its linear progression, it is never simple or banal. This golden scent creates a brightly warm, gently shimmering aura in its facets.

I wonder: Is it TOO perfect? Can a fragrance even be TOO beautiful?

J’adore L’Or has something almost otherworldly, surreal, almost ethereal about it. Like flawless youth. Like a dream or a magical film scene. Or like the quiet, impressive perfection of a small natural event. Dragonfly wings. The essence of beauty.

I also think of “The Virgin Suicides” by Sofia Coppola. Even though the scent is not simply young and not necessarily girlish (it’s too deep, elegant, and somehow smells too... yes: expensive for that).
It is rather the untouched, the special loveliness of this J’adore sweetness that is not broken or disturbed by anything. The unobstructed flow of its development in purity and beauty, which will never lead into darkness or abysses. The innocence and allure of natural grace, unspoiled by anything.

So yes: beauty, clearly.
And I love beauty.
Only now questions arise: When/how/where do I wear this? This scent has nothing everyday about it; it demands exclusive occasions. When are these special days and events?
And: am I even that? Can I embody this unadulterated, perfectly measured sweetness without abyss? DO I want to be this floral-vanilla perfection?
Will it perhaps bore me? Where is the break, the contrast, the grounding? Does it fit into life?
I don’t quite know how to handle this gold from J’adore.

Maybe I’ll just spray it on when I feel like it - subtly, but without doubt, ifs or buts, no matter where and when - and feel this goddess within me, gilding and sweetening my ordinary everyday life and simply enjoying the otherworldly golden light that J’adore L’Or immerses everything in?
Let’s see.

Is noticeably more powdery than the regular version, sweeter, vanilla is distinctly present, very soft, very feminine, has an erotic vibe.

This is the sound of silence...
Drenched in warm, sunny gold,
without having been with Frau Holle.
"Floral-sweet" in "magically beautiful."
