Hidden Superpower
The only fragrance from the Les Elixirs Precieux line that I wouldn't recommend wearing on its own. Not because it doesn't live up to what it claims to be, but because it can do so much more than one might initially think. When applied directly and rubbed into the skin (as one does with oils of this kind), it reveals the most soapy musk scent I have ever encountered. Very clean and noticeably more pleasant than I initially assumed for practically pure musk. If left as is, it provides a gentle musk aura for a good 12 to 14 hours. Nice, but I wouldn't say it's worth the money. One day, I had the idea to layer the scent with something from the Prive collection by Christian Dior, since most are based on white musk anyway. I spontaneously chose Sakura. Having said that, I layered a couple of rubbed drops of Musc with two sprays of Sakura, applying it to three body spots.
What greeted me was not the Sakura I knew; it was a massive symbiosis of the most beautiful things that unfolded a depth I could not have imagined. It literally blew me away. I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist. I was in a hurry at the time, but I quickly realized that body heat does not harm the musk; quite the opposite. Besides the fact that the scent develops and changes so beautifully, the Sakura lasted a good 2 to 3 hours longer on the skin thanks to the oil than it usually does. Nice side effect.
The transformation a fragrance undergoes thanks to Musc is unimaginable. That same evening, I met a friend who owns Sakura and didn't even recognize the scent on me. She just wanted to know what I was wearing. I felt the same way.
I became curious about how the other scents from the in-house collection would change once I layered them in the same way. And thanks to this line of thought, I discovered the true strength of the elixir, which ultimately convinced me to make the purchase.
There was almost no scent in the line that didn't smell significantly more luxurious and last longer. A small 3ml secret weapon, requiring only the smallest amounts to achieve massive effects.
Musc is extremely simple, yet makes other things surprisingly complex.
