Eau Mohéli Diptyque 2013

Eau Moheli opens with a Garnier Fructis accord, bristling with green apple peel and a bubblegummy ylang. It smells lush, like champaca, but also fresh and lively. Ylang is a complicated hussy, but sometimes all it wants to do is shake off its shoulder pads and high heels and give us the full force of its sunny brightness.

So here it does, appropriately matched to that crunchy-botanical Diptyque style. This is a ylang that has been through the filter several times, polished to a high shine, and set in a cushion of green leaves and powdery benzoin. As clean and pearlescent as a ylang boba tea, I recommend Eau Moheli to anyone wishing to avoid the weirder or more mature aspects of ylang, or to people who just love Diptyque’s refined, faux-naturalistic approach to perfumery.

EAU MOHELI is a clean and fresh scent.
Green, crumbled stem of plants surprise me, later on nice meadow flowers spoil my nose sweeter and sweeter as time is passing.
Unfortunately it lasts less than half hour, and after it the base destroys my joy with strong and soapy vetiver. I was longing for patchouly and Frankincense, but they were removed from the game. I like the top and heart of EAU MOHELI, but it is not a good deal without a remarkable base.

Another Pescheux masterpiece imo! Roasted papaya seeds. Fat, sexy, yellow alien flowers swaying in the breeze. Milky sap. A hummingbird’s drink of choice. Glassy waves. Blue Crush. Enya on the radio. It's all sunshine and big smiles and dinner at the beach, hair still wet.

I love dark and moody scents: earthy patchouli, prickly roses, spicy vanillas, animalic musks. However, THIS is who I aspire to be. Undying optimism. Open heart. A bubble of joy. I got an Ylang-Ylang blossom tattooed because of this perfume. That’s how much I love it.

I generally don't like very flowery scents but this one I adore. Ylang-ylang and vetiver are dominant notes but overall it is flower bomb.

When I wear it I feel that I smell like a flower bush and I love that.

Sometimes I even apply it before I go to bed as it makes me happy and relaxed.

Reading the notes this could have been so amazing. I am a fan of all the notes here. Sadly, the vetiver, ginger, and pepper, were only there for me in the first hour or so and then it just became a beautiful ylang ylang only scent. It lasted fairly well!

I would not wear this, but I would really love it on someone else in a summery, beach setting, or as a room scent.

Sigh. Still in search for a Diptyque scent that can enamour me.
