Rose-chouli with a little cherry
I mainly smell rose here, adorned with a sweet, candied patchouli and just a touch of juicy cherry. When I try really hard, I can also sense a hint of smokiness. The rose starts slightly soapy, which I don't love, but turns warmer and better in the drydown. This is definitely one of those fragrances that need a moment to bloom on the skin.
But as a whole, the scent misses a little something extra to make it stand out. I hoped for more defined notes and also more cherry.
Let me put it this way: Elixir Love smells more like a typical rosy fruitchouli of the 2010s than like a typical follower of the cherry trend in the 2020s. I have smelled a similar scent profile hundreds of times before and this one doesn't really bring anything new to the table.
I do enjoy this kind of fragrance, it's nice and wearable, but it really does not blow me away anymore. Sure, if this was the last perfume on earth, I'd happily wear it, but otherwise, I can do without it.
