Chypre meets Gourmand
There is something familiar, warm and comforting in this fruity floral. Were it released by a niche house, with maybe sliiiightly better quality ingredients, it would have been a huge hit no doubt.

The composition is teetering in the verge of a fruity Chypre because of the bright bergamot and pungent Marygold melting into a juicy peach, but then flowers and vanilla take over closer to the heart, and the drydown/base is a warm, sweet white chocolate. I guess most people expect either one, but not both in the same composition. But that's exactly what I like so much about it!

The juiciness and sweetness makes me think of Jonagold apples; this scent is the most apple-like in summer.
I wish it had better longevity on skin (on fabric it's about a day, on skin - a skin scent after 2hours) and a bigger sillage, but for the uniqueness alone I'll forgive its faults. Especially at that price (bought on sale for 13€ in 2021)!

In my opinion, a wildly underrated hidden gem, worth a try while you can still find it!

Stylish Gourmand
5th Avenue Style is fashionable and fun gourmand scent. I could easily wear it to a cocktail party, an evening out or simply to work. It is certainly sweet but there are other layers to this fragrance that makes it interesting enough to keep it in my gourmand’s collection.

First of all I like the zesty bergamot opening with spicy pink pepper. I smell both peach and plum in the heart notes and this is where the scent becomes really sweet. The floral notes are strong and a bit sharp following the grand tradition of the original 5th Avenue. There also a slight chocolate accent, which is extremely nice but it does not smell to me very chocolate-y. It could be nice if the chocolate was just a little bit more noticeable. I think it will work superb here. The dry down is a light vanilla with a dab of chocolate and woody notes from oakmoss. I think that both, longevity and sillage are pretty good.

This is a nice gourmand for grown-ups. Versatile, easy to wear and stylish.

Lemon & Pepper
Most of Elizabeth Ardens scents I have purchased, I liked or even love, so, when I came across "5th Avenue Style" on a clearance sale I didn't hesitate to blind buy. The promise of chocolate, peach and vanilla sounds soo good!

BUT! On my skin the notes must have morphed into different ones! At first spray I get a gust of lemon...a bad lemon, reminiscent of washing-up liquid or a cleaner. Then a harsh pepper note joins in and actually made my nose itch to the point I thought I was going to sneeze!? Obviously 5th Avenue Style is not in Style with my chemistry. Now, this doesn't happen often bad when it happens it's a fatal thing. I can't wear it because it also makes me dizzy. I gave it to my neighbor who loves it!

Re: White chocolate, Gourmand heaven. "5th Avenue Nights" is all these things and is VERY yummy! (please read my review if you like) and was a blind buy I enjoy very much. So, if your chemistry is like mine and you -also- had a bad encounter with this one but liked the idea of a EA white chocolate treat, try that one.

Chemistry IS the invisible ingredient that WE add to ALL scents that we wear! I know that but still blind buy...I'm an olfactory Daredevil ; )...and with that comes risks I guess...Alas.

For all of you who get the wonderful notes listed...Enjoy! : )

Different than expected
I have had this fragrance for a few months now and have been thinking for a long time about what I could write about it. I find it difficult because I can hardly pick out individual components here. Otherwise, that usually works better.
I have some difficulties with 5th Avenue; it is too floral and thus too elegant for me.
This one starts fresh and fruity, almost citrusy. I do not perceive any pepper at all, not at all. The fruits dominate, possibly the apple blossom, which also has a rather fruity scent. Good that I cannot identify the marigold either, because what I know of marigolds, namely marigold cream, I do not find particularly pleasant smelling.
I like gourmand fragrances and was really looking forward to the white chocolate... however, when I think about it: what does white chocolate smell like? Basically, not much at all, maybe a bit like vanilla.
Even though I do not find the white chocolate, vanilla comes to the forefront a little in the base. I suspect that because of the oak moss, it does not become sweet, but transforms from fruity-citrusy to fruity-herb.

All in all, different than expected, yet a beautiful, rounded fragrance for warmer seasons, in which no component dominates. The younger version of 5th Avenue.

Now I would be interested in 5th Avenue after five...

different style
Today I was looking for a fragrance for my mother-in-law, who is a completely different type than I am, with a completely different style.

She is a lady from head to toe - a bit quirky, even impulsive.
But I have the ambition to put myself in her shoes, as I am an empathetic person.

When I think of "style," Arden Style comes to mind.
The first spray irritates me, as it greets me stubbornly with the very special marigold.
I already take a run-up to shake my head, but this herbaceous-bitter note soon disappears in favor of sweet raspberry, nestled in soft pink pepper.
The apple blossom is surprisingly mild, and peach and plum are round and juicy.
When the aromatic white chocolate, garnished with vanilla, makes its entrance, I too am completely drawn to the fragrance.

Not everybody's darling - the start is too special for that - but equipped with a special charm.

I think it's just right for bold elegant ladies who enjoy dancing out of line every now and then.

My individualistic mother-in-law could wear Style well.

I am curious about her reaction.

P.S. The fragrance gift was well received by my mother-in-law.

Unfortunately, there's too much peach for me, which I struggle with anyway. Overall very synthetic, no comparison to 5th Avenue!

More fruity than floral. "Velvety" describes it better than "powdery." It positively reminds me of Sander's "Style Series."

Strange scratchy top note, beautiful velvety fruity heart note, and a grand, spicy-woody-delicious base that's worth the wait!
