Dangerous Complicity
Opens with a weird vegetal note: watery, acidic almost poisonous. Gradually warmer and sweeter notes emerge: ylang-ylang, jasmine and osmanthus layered over a warm base of sandalwood and rum. A whiff of leather and patchouli add a smoky-earthy facet to the composition. The fragrance is only truly nice once the bitter top notes have faded, but it is quiet and rather bland.

Fresh flowers
I am trying now dangerius comolicity. The scent is nice, fresh an very weareable. I like the opening very much. It is intense, a bit watery but with a very noticeable osmanthus. However half an hour later the perfume becomes very soft.
I think It is an unisex flowery scent, better for day and weareable under any weather or temperatura. The biggesr issue i find is the performance which is not very good. I would wear It during the day. Could be a good spring scent for the daily Life.

Put the rum in the coconut, but just barely.
I`ve yet to try something from this brand that I like. Most of the samples from Etat Libre d'Orange have been at best okay, and at worst, just a meh plus a yawn. They`re so...vanilla. Take this Dangerous Complicity: just what the heck is supposed to be "dangerous" here?! The "complicity" part I do get; just the marketing dudes plotting to sell you something that sounds better than what it actually is.

The opening, a promising holiday on the beach cocktail with rum, ginger and coconut, but one, two, three...GONE! Dangerous Complicity gives up and it`s a barely there, skin scent that`s nothing to write home about.

PS-It`s got nothing to do with Mandarine Sultane. Blasphemy!

Harmless Acquaintance
Who doesn't know the popular phrase among dog owners: "He's harmless, he just wants to play."

In the case of Dangerous Complicity, however, this statement fits like a lid on a pot, because the scent is for me more of a harmless acquaintance than a dangerous complicity.

Here, the typical ELdO naming convention has struck again, as you once again get the opposite of what the name implies.

Dangerous Complicity awakened in me scent expectations akin to Rien or Charonge.

The reality, however, unfolds for me more like this.

A restrained fruity opening is followed by a subtle floral bouquet with a hint of rum, then it settles close to the skin, woody-spicy, paired with a restrained sweetness.

Throughout the entire scent journey, I have the feeling that I have smelled this fragrance many times from other brands. Although the scents are not really comparable, L'Edition Imperiale by Courvoisier comes to mind. This scent, too, is harmonious, soft, and beautiful on one side, but on the other side, it is also somewhat interchangeable.

The longevity is, compared to other scents from the ELdO brand, mediocre, and the sillage is not worth mentioning for me.

Now I wonder if the scent would behave differently if sprayed? The sample I have is for dabbing, and I believe that the method of application affects the scent impression.

Dangerous Complicity falls into the category: I would use it if someone gifted it to me, but I would never buy it myself.

For me, rather harmless
Thanks to Don's sample package, I was able to test this scent - given the title, I was quite curious.

This fragrance felt somewhat familiar to me from the start, but when I held my nose directly to the scent, it didn’t feel that way at all, quite strange. When I caught a slight whiff, I perceived it as rather feminine, but up close, more masculine.
I found it quite difficult to identify individual notes; at first, the scent seemed very “tipsy” to me, then warm woody but also floral, definitely with jasmine, but at the same time cool.
Strangely enough, a hint of this fragrance vaguely reminded me of Crystal Noir by Versace (but only when I sniffed the bottle from the outside).
Looking at the fragrance notes, the only commonality could be the coconut. However, this puzzles me because I can’t perceive any coconut scent here at all.
I don’t find the fragrance seductive, but rather pleasant.
On my husband’s skin, this fragrance developed just like it did on me, which is not usually the case, and he would assign this scent more to a lady, at times also more to a man.

Could this refer to the dangerous complicity?
Depending on the distance to the scent, one perceives it as more masculine or feminine, and this applies to both men and women. So, this perception is shared, which can indeed have something attractive about it, but that probably also depends on individual fragrance preferences.

The longevity was about 4.5 hours, and the sillage was very close to the skin.

Bright and coconutty sweet. Slightly boozy. After a while the booziness dies and the florals turn up. Stays close to the skin.

Does not live up to such a cool name. Generic sweet jasmine/ylang ylang & very fleeting osmanthus. Vaguely chemical-y and poor performance

Dangerous complicity is a fresh and watery floral scent with nice osmanthus. Unisex and nice for day time use. Performance is not very good.

Not Dangerous Complicity at all. Delicate and soft powdery flowers, rolling in rum. Sounds close to skin

Fruit schnapps and deodorant flowers; this complicity is only dangerous because there is no adult supervision anywhere around.

A tiring mix of jasmine and sweet fruit gum that lingers too long to wait for the pleasantly neutral base.

Synthetic and aroma are ALWAYS dangerous accomplices!
Impostors and imitators.
Quickly fading top notes,
sweetly infused.
