Underrated Hidden gem of Floraiku
You cannot afford to miss it!!

It is an underrated hidden gem of Floraiku!

I have plenty collections of Floraiku in hand but found out this one is the most charming and adorable scent.

The bottle color is black just fit into the dark but the cap is amazing lovely designed for fireworks in the dark.

Memo signature blending, but not my thing.
Personal: 5.5/10 – I respect the quality and depth, but it’s not my kind of fragrance. Way too dark, herbal, and earthy for me to enjoy. And the rose isn't for me.
Mass appeal: 5.5/10 – This isn’t trying to be likable. It’s moody, brooding, and polarizing, with depth that only a specific set of noses will appreciate.
Performance: 8/10 – Strong longevity and projection, as expected from something so resinous and earthy, despite its floral qualities.
Value: 4/10 – The pricing is insane, even if the blending is exquisite. Not worth it unless you LOVE this DNA.
Uniqueness: 9/10 – Very unique execution of dark woods, herbs, and florals. Feels like walking through a ritualistic incense chamber. Nothing compares.

SCORE: 64/100

Full bottle buy? NO, I can’t stand wearing it, but I like occasional whiffs.
Blind buy? NO, it’s way too expensive and polarizing to gamble on. Sample.
Recommend? YES, but only for collectors who want something dark, niche, and VERY moody. Not for everyone.
Date night? NO, unless your date is a vampire.
Office safe? NO, way too heavy and weird for a professional setting.

Pros: Incredibly well blended, high quality, dark, mysterious, artistic. Extremely unique expression of bright notes turned dark.
Cons: Crazy expensive, overly dark and brooding, very niche taste. Worth smelling, not owning.

This is one of those fragrances that’s more about respect than love. I don’t want to wear it, but I understand what it’s doing. The blending is unmatched, and is clearly the quality you would expect from Memo, but it's just too dark and floral and... weird... for me to wear. It almost makes sense as a fragrance, but it has deep twists and turns like a long-lost tunnel that's somehow still filled with ritualistic incense.

A high-art dark niche fragrance. I respect it, but I’ll never wear it.

Review #75 in my fragrance journey – this fragrance I own as a decant

You either love him or you hate it
This is definitely a fragrance that divides opinion, and I can understand why. The combination is quite unusual: it starts with a very dominant peppermint note. To some, this may smell like toothpaste, while others (including me) find the cool, green note very exciting and fresh.

This is followed by rose and incense, which creates an unusual mixture of cold and resinous notes. The mixture works well on my skin and has a modern feel. It is not a crowd pleaser, and I get different reactions to it. For some, it develops into a fascinatingly complex fragrance, while for others it remains strangely minty. It doesn't make sense to buy this blind.

Finally, I want to clarify once again that I really enjoy wearing this fragrance and find it super exciting.

Back slapping fresh
At first it’s a slap in the face of freshness. Citrus and green. Then it settles even more green and floral and transitions into a patchouli like zone that with the layers of the sharper ones above can smell like soap and second glance. I wish it transitioned a little slower because the levels are great. The “darkness” comes once everything else has settled. More like a dewy aspen forest in a full night. Not piney. It’s a fun scent and fresh. Try it on your skin first. It is very different on the skin. I’m n would also say it means more to rare feminine. But could be a nice thing on some men.

Where is the Darkness?
Before I write anything about "in the dark," I must express my general dissatisfaction with this brand. Floraiku is a brand that I would actually like to love. The bottles are beautiful, and I find the packaging along with the poems super interesting. There are usually many samples included with the ordered fragrances, and even 10ml travel sprays come with them.

The prices scream luxury, and the presentation of the fragrances does too. The names create a story, and the included poems intensify the suspense. However, the fragrances themselves often fail to deliver on this promise.

Now to In The Dark: We all probably have different associations when we think of dark or darkness. Perhaps something mysterious, something wicked or animalistic. The possibilities are, of course, diverse. I was hoping for something bolder. Something more honest. Many people dare to be more adventurous when the lights are out.

However, very few would think of a rose soap with that term. I can wear rosy soap in the light as well. Therefore, the theme of the mysterious was clearly missed for me.

The scent opens nicely. Peppermint and citrus greet us and linger for a few minutes.

Then comes the Turkish rose, which from now on plays the leading role in the fragrance. It is a very clean rose, which evokes associations with soap or laundry detergent for me.

Patchouli also joins in, but unfortunately, it doesn't save this uninspired rose scent.

The longevity and sillage were somewhat acceptable for me with 4 sprays. It lasts about 5 hours, and the scent was still detectable by a person standing next to me after 3 hours. It is certainly not a beast mode fragrance, but that is one of the few things I don't hold against "in the dark."

It must be noted - I really want to like you, Floraiku. Your packaging is fantastic. However, the fragrances I have tested so far cannot keep up, and the price for this scent is really cheeky.

A delicate rose-patchouli, bits of frankincense and a mentholated shower gel sensation. Gris Dior's weird little sibling

Sweet, floral, dark, and extremely moody. VERY niche, VERY individual. Sample first!

Delicious minty-rose scent. Delicate and refined. Performance is a joke.

You never hear about this one, but it's amazing. These notes look like they wouldn't mesh, but they do - oh so well. This is something else.

Mediocre opening and middle, magical drydown. Once the incense and rose show up it becomes perfectly balanced. Price is unjustifiable.

Thought I'd love this but it smells a bit generic? Didn't bother to try it on skin.

"In the Dark"
A ninja darts like a ghost over hill and stone,
slips on a bar of soap,
and lands in the rose bed.

The scent notes suggest something different.
I also smell a shower gel scent here,
not even a particularly nice one.
Sour and unpleasant.
