Like someone smashed a vanilla thumbprint cookie with blackcurrant jam in my face

The opening is a giant wallop of blackcurrant jam, with an undercurrent of vanilla. It’s like someone smashed a vanilla thumbprint cookie with blackcurrant jam in my face.

Also, this stuff has staying power: it was blasting on as strong as ever a couple of hours later. This is one determined scent!

I found it surprisingly linear, though after many hours there was a tiny hint of smokiness. All in all, it’s a bit too sweet for me to wear easily.

Blueberry desert?

I was taken by surprise when I first sampled this fragrance. From the notes listed, it is nothing how I had imagined it would smell. I get a nice hefty dose of blueberries being baked in a oven, blueberry loaf to be exact. Funny, there is no blueberry note listed here so I am assuming that is coming from the blackcurrant? That note has never given me a rich blueberry smell as it does in this fragrance if it is indeed the blackcurrant radiating that delicious smell.

All the while the tea creeps in & makes this beauty even more intriguing, it's like sitting at the breakfast nook in your kitchen relaxing sipping on some tea while that blueberry loaf is baking & rising in the oven creating a divine aroma throughout your home. Rice I do not get but the musk joins the parlay later on and wraps itself into the fragrance creating a long lasting tenure.

I was shocked how long this last on my skin. I get easily over 8+ with this fragrance. Projection is arms length as it will not announce itself, but those whom you walk pass & who walk pass you will surely pick up the aroma.

All in all, this is a delicious & enjoyable work of art that is easy to wear during autumn months. I am not sure how it holds up in the winter/snow months, but as of right now, you cannot go wrong. One of the brands best IMO!

Tea for Two and Two for Tea

It’s a gentle Genmaicha, warmed by milk, as if every sip were a hug. The rice mingles with a biscuit topped with blackcurrant jam: a sweet and indulgent duo, but a well-crafted gourmand, undeniably addictive, making you forget all reason from the very first whiff.

You’re instantly transported to a small kissaten (Japanese tea café) where you can sit, enjoy your tea, and savor a little treat, completely outside of time.

Does the name One Umbrella for Two invite us to share our delights, draw closer, or shelter together while a passing rain washes the world? Could this kissaten be the umbrella in question?

It’s a pity it’s so expensive, because this gourmand is a little marvel.

Smells like a memory...

Sweet blackcurrant and savory genmaicha make this the most perfectly named perfume. The combination of these notes evokes the feeling of a romantic moment shared under an umbrella—sweet but fleeting. While I understand why some people may compare this smell to a blueberry muffin, I think that description doesn't quite capture how complex this scent truly is. The soft powdery rice and tea notes in the background adds so much depth to this type of fruity gourmand scent profile and keeps it from smelling "cheap". The projection and longevity are quite good; it lasts a couple of hours and I can smell it on me at the end of the day. If you want to capture the essence of smelling like enjoying desserts at a Japanese teahouse overlooking a tranquil garden, this is the scent for you.

Blueberry Vape... and muffins.

I call this an Introverted Gourmand. You might get a blueberry flavoured vape.... or the entire atmosphere of spreading blueberry jam over a warm muffin while tea is brewing on the stove. I get both of these scenarios but at different points. The opening is just not for me - I find it overwhelming and very artificial, the kind of piercing sweetness found in fruity vapes. This stage lasts a good 30 minutes before the fragrance mellows into that godly yet comforting jam + tea scenario I mentioned. At this point I start to enjoy the fragrance more...

This is my "self care" perfume, specifically on a rainy/cloudy day. I don't wear this for indulgence, but for comfort. It's not gourmand in a "I'm hungry right now", but it brings back specific memories of mum and aunts making afternoon tea on a rainy day and all the chatter and the TV noise in the background etc. It is VERY nostalgic, at least to me. I'm sensitive to fruity notes so the top isn't enjoyable but it would be exceptional for someone who enjoys fruit sweetness in their perfumes. I didn't need a 100ml bottle of this since I have Jovoy's Remember Me which fills this gap for me nicely. Might move this one out of my collection, but I would need to try it again in warmer months. Not versatile enough to wear in multiple scenarios. Longevity is respectable. Non-repurchase.
